Bella’s Engagement Ring

We’ve seen all kinds of posts from all over the internet about the engagement ring Bella wears in the trailer for Eclipse.  The ladies at Infinite Jewelry have gone on a Pre-Eclipse sale offering the Official Bella’s Engagement ring for $20 off the regular price.  Given that the ring in the trailer looks very much like the ring Infinite Jewelry designed with the guidance of Stephenie Meyer, this would be the perfect time for fans to grab this key piece to dressing up like Bella in the films.  The sale extends to other items at their site as well.

Kristen Stewart talks Rob, Twilight fans, and Joan Jett

Kristen StewartParade Magazine has an interview with Kristen Stewart about a wide range of topics showing just how diverse this young actress really is.  Kristen had this to say about Twilight fans:

I’ve never been so fanatical about something. I never had that thing that I’m obsessed with. But, I’ve followed things for years like bands and movies and actors. I completely get what they’re feeling. Personally, it’s just so cool for me to be able to go back and follow a character for so long in successive movies. The fact that fans love them helps give me the chance.”

Breaking Dawn Director Poll

The Hunt for Breaking Dawn Directors Begins

triodirect

In our opinion, which is based on past experience and conjecture not insider info, Summit will tell us details about Breaking Dawn after the Eclipse major marketing wave is over.  That’s not to say that Melissa Rosenberg isn’t working on script options, meaning making it one movie or two movies, that they aren’t figuring if they will use Portland or Vancouver, or when they’ll be shooting. It just means that like most companies, they like to focus their marketing and newscycle on one major product at a time. Pun intended, they don’t want the Eclipse movie to be eclipsed by Breaking Dawn news.

So where is all this going? Well, to prove that work does continue behind the scenes, here is some information vie Entertainemnt Weekly

“Sources tell EW that the studio has reached out to at least three top-notch directors, including Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) to gauge their interest in what is likely to be two movies. (Van Sant’s reps confirmed that he’s been approached, but Coppola and Condon’s people didn’t return phone calls by press time. Summit declined to comment.)”

Aziz Ansari Tweets While Watching Twilight

azizActor Aziz Ansari of the sitcom Parks and recreation started watching Twilight and has been Tweeting his reactions. The picture to the left is his reaction to Bella not figuring out Edward was a vampire sooner.

Some of the the better comments (which, FYI do contain non-PG-13 language) include:

“You better hold on tight spider monkey.” Same thing I say anytime a date steps in my Kia Sportage.

“I can’t read your mind, you have to tell me what your thinking…” Now you know how us non-vampire bro’s feel Edward!!

That kid with the six pack is this movie but he’s not in shape yet and he needs a haircut. Weird

Doesn’t the 6 pack kid turn into wolf in New Moon? Hard to believe a person that turns into wolf is into Twizzlers.

Check out his full commentary here. Aziz claims he will be doing the same with New Moon. TY to Christy0611 for letting us know.

Moviefone: Twilight in Forks Documentary Interview

We met the folks who were making the Twilight in Forks documentary last summer when we attended the Summer School in Forks Twilight Convention. This was back before Summit Entertainment or any other major distributor got involved. We can attest to the fact that the filmmakers were very low key and unassuming; however, unlike many we have met, they were very Twilight savvy and non-judgmental! In fact it was a two-man, father & son, crew that we met.  They were very relaxed and very “unHollywood” wearing flannel shirts, tees, and jeans when we met them.  We have no idea if we are in the final cut of the documentary or not, but we are definitely planning to get it.

Was there a difference between how the younger residents reacted, versus the older ones?
Brown: For the most part they’re all aware of it; many of them have read the books and seen the movie. When you put yourself in the shoes of a high school kid, they’re a little confused by it: “I grew up here, I don’t get what’s the big deal?” But nobody was dismissive or angry, or thought it was weird. Everybody in Forks, regardless of their age, can see there’s a huge benefit, to the spirit of the town, the vivaciousness of what’s going on there. Regardless of how they feel about the story, it’s had an impact on their life which is positive; for that reason they are excited by it.
Baur: The demographic isn’t as young as everyone thinks [I nod my head enthusiastically at this]. It’s a small town, so the connectivity amongst individual people is much greater. You have to give the school a huge credit; in a town this size the school is the center of the town. We were invited to the graduation of Forks High School, to a football game — and the entire community is there. The school has done a great job at involving the kids in it. Here’s a great example: people from around the globe are e-mailing the school, funny e-mails to ‘excuse Edward from class’ and that kind of thing. What they do is funnel these to the ASB (Associated Student Body) and they handle these e-mails.

Details on the Costumes of the Eclipse Trailer

After viewing the Eclipse trailer, MTV gave costume designer Tish Monaghan a call to ask all sorts of questions, including the all important query of, “is that an engagement ring on Bella’s finger???”  She confirms that it is, indeed, an engagement ring as well as giving details on many of the other costume choices we see in the trailer.   Hillywoods… are you paying attention?  John Henson?  The article gives the exact stores some items were purchased from, so die hard fans can get the same look as the characters.
