Paramore Makes MTV Award Plea

According to MTV:

“We’ve already broken news about the release date of their new album and critiqued their basketball skills. And now that Paramore are officially MTV Movie Award nominees — their “Twilight” song “Decode” is up for Best Song From a Movie — we decided it was time to get their take on the big show too.

It’s no secret that the band — or, more specifically, frontwoman Hayley Williams — is an avowed “Twilight” nut. Since “Twilight” landed a whopping seven Movie Award noms, we figured it would be interesting to have them handicap the film’s chances in one of those categories: Best Kiss.”

Twilight Conventions: A Fan’s Viewpoint

People ask us all the time:

What’s a Twilight Convention all about?
Is it worth the money?
Do you really get to meet people?

Obviously every fan experience is different, but the Cullen Boys Site has a fan write-up of the latest convention put on by Creation Entertainment. Creation has been in the convention business for several decades and is known for putting on top notch shows for a variety of fandoms.

Alphie and Pel  are going to be at several up coming conventions this year: Summer School in Forks Symposium in June ( these folks have been running successful Harry Potter conventions for years), The Creation Entertainment Saulte to Twilight conventions in Atlanta (July), New Jersey(August), Chicago(October), San Fransicso(February)  and possibly other Creation Events.

MTV Movie Awards: Twilight Leads The List

The finalists for the MTV Movie Awards  were just announced. According to MTV,

“Twilight” took the lead with seven nominations, including nods for Best Movie, Best Female Performance (Kristen Stewart) and Breakthrough Performance Male (Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner). “Slumdog Millionaire” garnered six nominations, including Best Movie, Breakthrough Performance Female (Freida Pinto) and Breakthrough Performance Male (Dev Patel).”

Twilight was originally up for consideration in the following categories:

Best Movie: Twilight
Best Female Performance: Kristen Stewart
Best Male Performance: Robert Pattinson
Breakthrough Female Performance: Kristen Stewart (Dakota Fanning is also nominated for Push)
Breakthrough Male Performance: Both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are nominated
Best Villain: Cam Gigandent
Best Kiss: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
Best Fight: Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet

The total, final-cut nominations for Twilight in a tough year are:

Twilight: Best Movie
Rob Pattinson: Breakthrough Male Performance
Taylor Lautner: Breakthrough Male Performance
Kristen Stewart: Best Female Performance
Best Kiss: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
Best Fight: Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet
Best Song: Decode by Paramore

Unfortunately Cam Gigandet didn’t make the cut to compete in the Best Villain category. It’s a tough year for that category where Heath Ledger’s Academy Award Winning performance as the Joker is all but a done deal. There’s also the interesting possibility that Rob and Taylor being nominated in the same category may result in a split vote in which case another nominee could glide in.

Go over and get voting on MTV!

Sam Bradley Does Benefit Concert

Sam Bradley and other performers did a benefit concert in Vancouver for the Gewa Project, an organization that according to the group’s website, “…was created in 2001 by a Tibetan-Canadian with the goal of improving the living conditions of people in rural Tibet. Gewa began its work supporting elderly people in eastern Tibet (Kham) in the Yushu Prefecture of Qinghai Province in the People’s Republic of China.”

Sam Bradley co-wrote Never Think with Robert Pattinson. Both Rob and Kristen were at the show to give their support to Sam. Read the whole story on Celebuzz.

David Slade On The Twilight Saga

I don’t know if anyone who reads our site was a fan of The West Wing, but on the West Wing there was this episode where Martin Sheen playing President Bartlett said something really stupid, and his legal counsel played by Oliver Platt beat the hell out of the recording device on his desk with a baseball bat so there would be no evidence regarding the really stupid thing that he said.

Well, flashing forward to the Twilight world, it looks like David Slade was using a baseball bat of his own. Only it looks like the metaphorical bat here got to the evidence on Twitter, but it missed the call in show.

Slash/Film has the details on what is at the very least going to be an embarrassing incident:

“Today, however, it seems like Slade’s Twitter account has been deleted, which is a crying shame. Besides the loss of an interesting tweeter, another of the reasons this is unfortunate is that the deletion covers Slade’s tracks a little and hides a rather amusing little attack he launched on the Twilight franchise.

That being the very same Twilight franchise Slade has subsequently signed up to, and for which he will be directing the third installment, Eclipse. Oops.

So, the original Tweet might be gone but after the break we have audio of Slade ripping into Twilight”

Once you check out the full story on /Film and listen to the audio to judge for yourself, we have a question. Unfortunate foot in mouth trying to be witty on a call-in show, or is it worse than that?

The critical material in question happens at around the 9:00 minute mark in the second download, of what was otherwise and interesting an non-controversial interview.

Tinsel Korey on Entering the Twilight World

Tinsel Korey who plays Emily Young in the New Moon movie sat down with The Province and talked about her upcoming projects and the realization that her life is about to change.

“I know this is the pinnacle of where things are about to change for me,” says Korey, who hasn’t worked a day job since a brief stint as a waitress when she came to Vancouver from Toronto as a teen in 2002. “It was happening gradually but I just have an internal feeling that it’s about to get a little crazy.”

Kristen Stewart Kidnapped? By Bikers?

**Please note that Jaden does discuss the Scene with Bella on the Motorcycle therefore there are non-book spoilers in the video.  If you don’t want to know don’t watch!

Also, quite a bit of fun seeing things from a hater’s perspective (oh what a dark, friendless world that is!).  Seeing as how the two hate comments I get the most are “yous ukk” and “ur ghey”, I figured I’d make an impromptu song using…pretty much just those phrases.

Srs bsns, indeed.
