Twi-Con Media Coverage

We will continue to edit this post and put in footage as it becomes available.

Taylor Swift Meet Taylor Lautner

Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner were spotted filming on the set of Valentine’s Day.

According to Just Jared,  Taylor showed off his athletic prowess by jumping hurdles.

There’s a bit of speculation on which part he is playing since his name doesn’t currently appear on the IMDB cast roster.  Speculation includes the love interests of both Emma Roberts and Anne Hathaway who are currently attached to the film.

EDITED: Since this story was first posted, it has becomes obvious via other set pictures that he plays Taylor Swift’s love interest. Wonder if she’s done her Twilight impersonation for him? 🙂

TwiCon Day 1

We’ve been following some of the various Tweets and posts around the Internet on TwiCon:

Blogger Maggie, who is the person who obtained the informal programming panels just filed her report on Day 1.

“Well, day one is in full swing at TwiCon 2009. There were a bunch of glitches planning, lots of little hurdles to overcome as we worked through the details, and tempers and patiences were getting tight… but honestly, now that the fans are all here, it’s been pretty rockin’. It’s hard not to get excited about what you’ve done when 2,500 people are all smiles, wearing home-made Twilight shirts, and are screaming at anything Twilight related…. and there’s a whole lotta Twilight related things around here at the morning, so there’s a lotta screaming!”

You can get her whole report on her blog.

So far, according to Maggie and from what we’ve picked up on various Twitters, high points seem to be Evil Iguana’s spoof, The Hillywood players, and the soloist musicians Sage Dill, Marcus Foster, Bobby Long, and Sam Bradley. Downside seems to be some long lines and that dues to illness Mike Welch had to back out.

Stand by for Day 2. We understand there was a lot of media present and they’ll probably start filing their reports today.

Rachelle LeFevere Update 7/31

Just keeping everyone updated here, and that’s to say in the last 24 hours there has been no further comment from either Rachelle or Summit. Conspiracy theories abound on all angles.  Hard to know which have merit and which don’t.

As far as we can tell, Marc Malken on E! has a pretty good statement here as to where this is in all probability going:

“Rachelle Lefevre and Summit Entertainment’s fangs are retracting a little bit today—at least in public, that is.

I’m told the actress formerly known as Twilight’s Victoria isn’t planning on releasing any more statements like the one she sent me yesterday. Same for Summit—the corporate lips are sealed.

Why? Because now the bloody mess is apparently being hashed out by lawyers.”

In as much as neither side has issued anything in the last 24 hours, this thing, as we said in our position statement, is all going to boil down to what was in a contract and subsequent verbal/written agreements. In other words, bring in the lawyers. Now that doesn’t mean a court date, we are surmising phone calls, meetings, etc. which will probably result in some settlement with a nondisclosure clause. That tends to be how disputes like this go down.

Could it go to some sort of public trial if they don’t reach an agreement? Technically yes, but we would doubt it would come to that. In our opinion, it just wouldn’t make sense on at least two levels: 1) time 2) money. So, we would anticipate that the two parties will hash it out behind closed doors.

So what do we think will happen short term? Probably not a lot of communication on this specifically from either end. Again we are making an assumption here based on the facts as presented by each side in their respective public statements, but it would seem logical to us that if  there are legal teams involved, the first piece of advice any lawyer gives their client is “keep your mouth shut”.  The only thing that we feel safe in saying for sure here, is that the respective legal teams will be earning their keep.

Melissa Rosenberg Talks About Victoria in New Moon

Prior to the current controversy, Melissa Rosenberg discussed the role of Victoria in New Moon with MTV.

Happy Birthday Edward Style

It’s about time someone did this. People have been asking for Edward cards since pretty much day one!

Twilight Saga Going To The Dogs

We get all sorts of people who email in various stories about their personal reaction to Twilight, trips to Forks, encounters with actors, etc.  This one, was original, we’ve never seen photos quite like this before.

Lexiconer Rachel, whose family including her husband are fans, writes, “Thought you might enjoy these pics of our English bulldog Tucker  getting his Twilight fix.He is Team Jacob all the way!!! Eclipse is our favorite.”

Rachel’s family recently vacationed in the Vancouver area and visited film locations.

Nikki Reed Retro Photoshoot

Just Jared covered a photo shoot surrounding the making of the film 42nd Street. A well camouflaged Nikki Reed appears in these PR photos shot for Vanity Fair.

We are a little confused though because Nikki doesn’t seem to (at least according to the IMDB) be connected to the project. We figured it out, not a film at all, just an ongoing series of photo recreation of classic films.

Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, and Nikki Reed in LA

Ashley Greene was snapped by Just Jared during a photo shoot in West Hollywood.

Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed were at Nobu in West Hollywood for the Express sponsored Txt L8tr event.

Txt L8tris an organization whose mission is to stop people from texting and driving. In fact they have a contest going to help spark more awareness on this serious and statistically growing issue.
