Robert Pattinson and Emilie DeRavin in Vogue

The Vogue article covers how both Rob and Emilie are trying to show the world they can do more than the iconic characters that they are best known for. Rob also explains his aversion to Twitter.

“Ask Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin about shooting their new movie, Remember Me, and they instantly start talking about the throngs of Twilight fans and pushy paparazzi who swarmed around them as they filmed on the streets of New York.

“It was the most ridiculous experience,” says Pattinson, flashing the sweet, shy smile those crowds hoped to see. “You’re trying to stay in character and you’re trying to walk down the street, but all those people keep reminding you that you’re not this character, you’re—”

“A show pony,” cracks de Ravin, and the two burst into laughter…”

Robert Pattinson in Details Magazine

Pattinson_detailsDetails magazine has an extensive interview with Robert Pattinson.

“Rob’s face is constantly busy—especially his kaleidoscopic eyes, which are continually rolling and dilating, because he is always thinking. Over the course of that latte, he contemplates Jimi Hendrix, French fries, girls, art, beer, his cousin the philosopher, girls, truth, God, his dog, girls, and whether this week’s stalker has followed him from L.A. I don’t think he could turn his brain off if he wanted to.

Despite the legion of fans trailing him from hotel to hotel, laying siege to each like the Roman army, he is neither fearful nor cocky—he’s hungry, curious, forever reaching intellectually. That may not sound like a big deal, but think of the context: Complete strangers want to fuck you, shoot you, be you, buy you, sell you, run their fingers through your hair, watch you have sex, hear you pee, eat chips with you, and kidnap you and stuff you in the trunk of their car. And you? You must know more, more, more about exotic tropical diseases.”

Please be advised that the interview contains mature themes, language, and links to a photshoot that is art house in style that would not  be considered work/school safe. See it here.

Robert Pattinson in Scottish Daily Record

Rob talks to the Daily Record about everything from his Bel Ami shoot ( when you read the article you just know that the Uma Thurman quote is destined to be requoted and rehashed out-of-context for the next year), to his loss of privacy, to Breaking Dawn.

“He is also set to star in the final Twlight film based on the books Breaking Dawn, which may be broken into two films, due to the number of books.

He admits to mixed emotions about the end of the saga.

He said: “”It will be strange but it will be great just to be able to know what I’m doing. Not knowing when Breaking Dawn is going to shoot – because it changes all the time – is a kind of burden, to have this thing where you don’t know when it’s going to happen.

“So you’ve got to organise everything in your life around that and that can be difficult.”

Robert Pattinson: A Lament on the Appeal of Pasty White Dudes

The The Zeitgeisty Report Blogger ruminates over just what is the appeal of  “pasty white dudes” he has some interesting analysis. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the one thing this we seriously disagree on is his assessment of Robert Pattinson’s talent, as it seems he is basing his opinion on Twilight alone.

“What is it about vampires that so capture the imagination of young girls?

Perhaps it has something to do with the onset of menses and the complexity of emotions that are part and parcel to the experience. Along with the blood comes an understanding of mortality as well as the ability to bear life – this all ties in with the gestalt of the vampire. He has the power to both give life and take it by penetrating virginal skin and sucking out the viscous crimson. Psychologically it all makes sense…

…or maybe they just like broody, pale white dudes like Robert Pattinson.”
