Collider: Remember Me Roundtable

Collider was in at the Remember Me roundtable press discussion. Rob provides great insight into his current project as well as making comments on the twilight universe.

“Do you see yourself trying to sort of make a big gap between Twilight and everything else you do so people realize there this…something so different from the phenomenon that everybody focus on?

Pattinson: No, I don’t really focus on trying to do it, I don’t think. I pick scripts the same way, I think, that I’ve always done. I barely like anything, and so it’s kind of easy to pick your jobs. The things which I’m signed onto now are all completely different. Like I’m playing a white Comanche in one thing and the parts completely in Comanche. Bel Ami is, I thought there was a kind of irony in Bel Ami as well, because a lot of the women are attracted to this character and then he kind of screws them over and steals their money and stuff. (laughs) Which I thought was quite funny compared to the Twilight character. (laughing) It’s kind of the polar opposite. It wasn’t intentional, I just thought Bel Ami was very funny, and it’s a very interesting character. With Remember Me, I’d never done a simple story before, and it’s not that simple, but its playing a normal guy and trying to relate to things on a normal level it’s kind of relief in a lot of ways.”

Robert Pattinson: The Role That Got Away

robert-pattinson-remember-me_aDuring the Remember Me press junket, Hit Fix asked Robert Pattinson about roles that he either regretted not taking, or roles that he wanted and didn’t land. It looks like Rob passed up an opportunity to audition for a chance to work with Oscar winning legend and industry idol Daniel Day Lewis:

“Pattinson not only spoke on films to come, but also ones that passed him by. When asked if he’s ever been offered a script or role that he turned down for feared of not pulling it off, Pattinson revealed that Academy Award-winning “There Will Be Blood” “will always be one of my biggest regrets.”

“I remember reading the script and thinking it was the best script ever. I just couldn’t do it. And I was so pissed off afterwards. I was gonna go into the audition, but I was just, like, I can’t do it,” he laughed. “Also ‘The Assassination of Jesse James [by the Coward Robert Ford]’ — that was the other. I don’t know why I’ve pussied out of these things. I wouldn’t do it ever again.”

We need your Red Carpet questions for “Remember Me”

In just a few days, Pel will brave the winter storm in NYC to stand on the Red Carpet at the premiere for Rob Pattinson’s new movie “Remember Me.”  those of you who have heard Pel talk about her “New Moon” red carpet experience know that she has the ability to take on a surge of photographers to get her two minute sound bite from the stars!  So hopefully she’ll not only have the chance to talk to Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, and Chris Cooper, but that she will also snag the coveted Rob interview as well!

Hollywood Crush: New Remember Me Clip

There’s also a huge fan undertaking for Remember Me called Remember Me Saturday.
“As some of you might already know, we started a campaign to help the film Remember Me called Remember Me Saturday. The basic plan is to push for this National Fan Event on Saturday, March 13th due to the fact that Friday and Saturday are the days weekend box office estimates are based on. Sunday still counts, of course, but for perception and reporting, Friday and Saturday are the golden days. Seeing as every fan will already be seeing Remember Me on Friday, Saturday became the day chosen to hold this fan campaign and try to make a difference with the box office receipts. The idea is for fans to go back on Saturday March 13th and take their family and friends (or anyone they know!) and go see Remember Me again.”

Twilight Fans Brave the Cold

robOKbafta

It’s one thing to camp out to see the Twilight actors in Los Angeles. Even in November, you don’t have to worry about brutal temperatures and snow. It get to be maybe 50 degrees at night, and given usual weather patterns, even rain is iffy. However camping out for the BAFTAs or for Remember Me requires dedication on a whole new level.

According to OK and reports we grabbed from the RPAtzNewsTwitter fans lined up for the BAFTAs over 24 hours early in brutal 28 degree temperatures. That’s a bit nippy even for the UK. With the Remember Me premiere in New York City a week from today one can only imagine how many will line up all bundled up. Temperatures on a New York City sidewalk in February are going to be daunting at best.

OK Magazine writes:

“Hysterical Twi-hards slept overnight outside the Royal Opera House in London to secure their place alongside the red carpet after learning that four of the film’s stars would attend.

And as the first to arrive, Anna Kendrick received one heck of a reception as she signed posters and photographs.

She was followed by Jamie Campbell Bower, who – after chatting with fans – spent most of his time alongside girlfriend Bonnie Wright.

Kristen Stewart was next to arrive and spent more time with the fans than anyone, making sure she could give out as many autographs as she could.

Last to arrive was Robert Pattinson, who was greeted by screams and chants of: “We want Rob!” coming from the sidelines.

After arriving late, Robert didn’t spend long signing autographs and was quickly ushered inside to take his seat before he could reach the rest of the crowd.”

OK has a great video of the arrivals and fans.
