Tickets to New Moon Going Fast

Sources like Fandango are pre-selling New Moon tickets for midnight relese tickets.  As we previously reported, as various chains, like Carmike, come online and enter their ticket status and the sales begin. Don’t worry, more chains will be added. Your best shot is to keep monitoring Fandango to see when the theater by you comes online .

Thing are also hot overseas. The Australian newspaper Herald Sun is reporting that the movie is already sold out in various theaters there.

“Both Village and Hoyts cinemas will premiere New Moon at 12.01am on Thursday, November 19.

The screenings will be a double-header, with the first Twilight film being shown earlier on the Wednesday night.

Tickets for Village Cinemas’ midnight screenings went on sale on August 28 and many of the chain’s 15 participating locations across Victoria have sold out.”

We know we will be watching at midnight, and the next day, and the next day… WHat will you be doing?

New Moon Tickets On Sale At Select Theaters

Screen Rant did the legwork on this one. Earlier in the day Reuters talked about certain Carmike chains starting to presell New Moon tickets. We were having trouble figuring out which ones, and now it’s Screen Rant to the rescue.

“Alright all you Twilighters out there, for those of you who are already preparing your trip to the movie theater to see The Twilight Saga: New Moon this November, you can now do so safe in the knowledge that you’re guaranteed a seat. Tickets for the midnight screenings of New Moon have now gone on sale more than two and half months in advance.

Carmike Cinemas are offering tickets for midnight showings of New Moon on November 19th, at 63 of their 247 theaters. This “early sell” campaign is happening much in the same vein as the (WAY) advanced sale of tickets for James Cameron’s Avatar. Early word is that the Avatar pre-sales are being described as “healthy.”

Get the exact rundown on Screen Rant.

New Moon Bringing on The Year of the Werewolf?

According to MSNBC 2010 may well be the year of the werewolf as much as 2009 from Twilight-True Blood was the year of the vampire. Everything from New Moon’s shape shifters to a remake of The Wolfman is slated.

“Vampires, move over: Werewolves are about to claw their way to the top.

Besides the sudden sprouting of hair expected on Jacob (Taylor Lautner) come Nov. 20’s release of the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon,” MTV is getting ready to howl with a TV version of the 1985 Michael J. Fox movie “Teen Wolf,” about a high-school kid who discovers the strange effects of a full moon, says the Hollywood Reporter.”

If early ticket sales are any indication, it looks like they may be on to something here.

During much of this interview Wyck was whispering because audio levels were being set nearby. The recording was enhanced, but occasional words were lost. Scroll to the bottom of the transcript if you would prefer to listen to the interview or download it.

Wyck: He [Chris Weitz]has an ability to really communicate his ideas very calmly and cleanly. (something is said here that I can’t hear) That’s going to be one big thing for the fans, being like “Oh my Gosh, I had no idea!” None of you were here ever in Portland when we shot Bella’s house, right? (No) We completely built the exact replica.

Q:I know, it’s beautiful! How long did it take to build?
Wyck: Hmm, I don’t know, I think we got it up in like…well first of all what we did was we built it all in the studio, and built the whole thing, and then took it apart in walls and moved it. Yeah, so the building process there was like maybe month of really getting it right. Then getting it up here was maybe like, a week. The landscaping actually was, oddly enough, the thing that takes a lot of time. Trying to get the grass right, and finding the trees, you know? The appropriate trees. [Read more…]

EW: New Moon Trailer Strategy

Entertainment Weekly has great article up about the trailer

“For years now, Hollywood has played a deft bait-and-switch game of announcing that the new trailer for an upcoming Must See Movie would play in front of another film from the same studio that, quite frankly, could maybe do with a box-office boost. So Summit Entertainment’s announcement today that it will put the brand spankin’ new preview for The Twilight Saga: New Moon in front of Summit flick Bandslam when it opens this weekend should shock nobody, especially considering just how crowded this coming weekend will be at the box-office…” Read the rest on EW
