Lionsgate, Summit and the entire Twilight community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year’s convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Twilight Fan Passes Away In San Diego

Colton Hayes Talks Auditioning for Twilight

Those of you who have been around for awhile probably remember back in late 2007 when these Colton Hayes rumors went wild. And someone on the IMDB board teased readers with an official announcement that never came about Colton getting cast. It was quite the uproar at the time. Anyway, here’s Colton’s story.

Twilight Comic Con happenings before Thursday’s panels

I’m hearing some chatter that Twilight fans will want to be outside of Hall H at 9:00 PM on Wednesday night. I don’t think we are talking Kristen, Rob, and Taylor showing up. On the other hand, in the past Summit has come by with some pretty cool swag. You don’t want to potentially miss out on getting/seeing something cool. Sometimes you even get some of the actors in smaller parts showing the people in line some love. Just sayin I wouldn’t pick 9:00pm on Wednesday as the time time I’d pop back to my hotel for a nap. I’m going to be there…will you 😉

Paul Becker Talks How He Got the Breaking Dawn Choreography Gig

We have featured choreographer Paul Becker a couple of times before. Check out how he got the job for Breaking Dawn and what he thinks of director Bill Condon.

PC: What was the atmosphere on set like? PB: Well, I got there and went to the theater that they were shooting in and we all clicked – we just jammed and it all came together right away. I mean, the next day I was working on the film!

PC: That fast.

PB: Yeah – it was a really great experience and they really set up a nice environment for everybody on that. Bill, because of his musical background, really respects the choreography and the choreographer. There is a new surge of dance going through film and TV right now – within the last seven years, really – and there is a new respect for choreographers. Prior to that, I felt a lot of the time like I was being hired as crew, whereas now you are being hired as an artist.

PC: You get more respect.

PB: Yeah – especially on a set that Bill Condon is in charge of; he really has that respect and the reverence for theatre and theatre practices like that.

Comic Con Reminds Fans Not To Line Up Early

Comic Con just sent out the following Tweet from their official Twitter. If you are out there, please cooperate with officials so that things aren’t a problem when more people arrive later this week!

Charlie Bewley Runs for Cancer Charity in Underwear

It looks like Charlie Bewley literally stumbled on this event and took it off for charity. You can see Charlie’s previous commitment to cancer charities and his Run For Your Life campaign here.

Bewley’s involvement in the race was happenstance — he was vacationing in the city when he heard about it.

“I literally turned up about half an hour before the race and asked if I could join,” Bewley told The Province on Sunday.

But it wasn’t his first time getting involved with the B.C. Cancer Foundation — the Twilight actor, who plays Demitri, organized the Run For Your Life campaign last year and raised $20,000 for one of his friends suffering from lung cancer.

She was being treated in B.C. where Bewley would visit her.

“You could just really feel … her fears and helplessness,” he said. “And at that point I realized I had to try and do something to help her.”

She died a week before the run. Bewley still completed the run and donated the proceeds to the B.C. Cancer Foundation.

“Cancer touches everyone at some time in their life whether it’s them or someone else,” said B.C. Cancer Foundation CEO Doug Nelson. “With Charlie’s star power, of course, it raises awareness both for the cause and the event.”
