Edi Gathegi interview at Radar Online

LaurentRadarOnline has an interview with Edi Gathegi about how scary his character will be in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Radar: How scary is your scene?

Gathegi: Let’s just put it this way. I told Stephenie Meyer that my goal would be to scare every 14 year-old girl, and she looked at me and said “Edi, you’re so sweet and you have such a little baby face, no one is going to be scared of you at all.” Then she saw the movie and the dailies said, “OK Edi, you scared me!” And I said “That means a lot coming from you,” especially since she told me I wasn’t even going to be able to BE scary!

New Moon Selling Out Like Crazy

As each movie chain in various area of the USA and the world put their tickets for New Moon online, one thing happens…you guessed it…they sell out.

According to the LA Times:

“Online ticket sellers MovieTickets and Fandango report that the follow-up to last year’s hit from Summit Entertainment, which sold $191.5 million worth of tickets in the U.S. and Canada, is selling out screenings earlier than any other movie to date.

“New Moon” has sold out 50 showtimes of nearly 22,000 offered on Fandango and 13 showtimes of 2,912 offered on MovieTickets. Most of the sold-out shows are at or around midnight Nov. 20, when the movie debuts.”

This will be interesting to see if New Moon breaks the total set by Twilight.  Conventional wisdom in Hollywood would suggest that sequels don’t do as well as originals. There’s one thing we’ve learned in three years of covering Twilight—forget conventional wisdom, it almost never applies here!

New Moon Soundtrack Closer to Completion

MTV is reporting that the songs on the New Moon soundtrack will be announced on Friday.

Alexandra Patsavas talked to the New York Times about the entire Twilight Saga soundtrack process and her experience in this unique phenomena:

“Ms. Patsavas, known for her work on television shows like “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Gossip Girl,” said she was confident that the “New Moon” soundtrack would include Thom Yorke, Bon Iver and Band of Skulls. Death Cab for Cutie’s “Meet Me on the Equinox,” the first single, had its premiere on MTV.com on Sunday, as part of a “Twilight” promotional blitz surrounding MTV’s Video Music Awards.”

Kiowa Gordon Puppet Master!

The lucky winner in our first Wolfpack Wednesday giveaway is Christine ( the 49th poster chosen at random from the correct responses). Christina will be receiving an 8 X 10 signed glossy photo signed by Kiowa as her prize. Kiowa Gordon was the one doing the shadow puppets backstage at the time we mentioned.

Next Wednesday we’ll be doing another giveaway.

We’ve managed to get some of our items that we give out from time to time from being at the Creation Entertainment Official Twilight Tour stops. We are going to be at the next one which is October 2-4 in Chicago!

A lot of people have been asking us about conventions in general and what kind of vendors you might see there, so we put together a little video of the vendors who were at the recent New Jersey convention. The vendors also tend to travel the convention circuit, so you’ll see a lot of the same vendors at Fantasy Con, Eye-Con, Dragon Con, etc. Not every vendor is at every site, but you do see many of them over and over.

We had taken some pictures of the vendors at the previous convention, but the pictures didn’t come out too well and didn’t think it was fair to the vendors if their items weren’t represented well. So if someone is not here, that’s not to say that they didn’t have great stuff, but it was a technical meltdown on our part.

Contest to See 100 Monkeys in Nashville

So You Wanna Be in Pictures: Interview With Rene Haynes

ActorCast just let us know about an exciting interview that they did.

“This summer ActorCast hosted the online open call for two roles in the upcoming feature film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. The casting director on the project, Rene Haynes, received thousands of submissions via ActorCast and she and her team viewed every audition that they received through the system. We asked Rene if she would be willing to answer a few questions from our users and she graciously accepted.

We’d like to thank Rene and her team for taking the time to answer these questions, and we’d also like to thank Summit Entertainment for allowing us to do this Q & A for our members. Renee has some invaluable advice for anyone looking to build a career in acting.”

The Newborn Army Is On The Move

Filming of Eclipse continues in Vancouver. A recent scene, that those present surmise involves the newborn army because Xavier Samuel and Jodelle Ferland were present, was shot down at the waterfront. Various onlookers got to see quite the site by standing on public land on the opposite shore.  Mandy who ended up using the public rest room, got the shock of her life when she came out of the stall to find red-eyed extras waiting to use the facilities, now there’s something you don’t see everyday!

Vancity Allie, whose photo appears left, described the scene as:

“I had a chance to see a new set being filmed for Eclipse… the scene where the newborns arrive in Forks. It’s a picturesque scene, with mountains and water framing the background of the shot, and a sparse unoccupied beach for the newborns to arrive on… then they disappear into the forest. The vampire newborns looked absolutely chilling, and their rugged military-like outfits along with steely, determined glares just added to the mood. Filmed early in the morning, this scene was designed to look as if it had been shot at night, possibly just after dusk or just before dawn.”

See the rest of Allie’s photos and write-up here.

Mandy also visited locations similar to Allie. Mandy says:

“The vampires would simply go underwater once the camera was rolling then one by one emerge out of the water and walk slowly, menacingly towards to the shore. I love the darker angle David Slade is taking to this movie. I can’t wait for Eclipse to come out… but I have to wait for New Moon first… which I can’t wait for either :)”
