Reelz Channel Favorite Twilight Actor/Character and Six Degrees Games

Reelz Channel has a game going where you can rank your favorite Twilight actor/character. At the time we are writing this the top three ranks are held by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Ashley Greene.

Check it out on Reelz.

Reelz Channel has also launched another set of games that’s like a six degrees of separation thing. They wrote in to tell us that, ” We have a special challenge for Twilight fans and we hope you will share it with your viewers. The new ReelzChannel Facebook app, ClusterFlick, allows players to put the concept of six degrees of separation to the test using movie and celebrity information.”

One of the challenges is to try to find the David Slade and Bill Condon connection within six moves.

Peter Facinelli to Bring Awareness to Two Causes in New Jersey

According to the Trenton Times:

“An actor who is part of the wildly popular “Twilight” movies will visit the area tomorrow to draw attention to two truly worthy causes. Alex’s Lemonade Stand, which raises money to fight childhood cancer, and the Community Blood Council of New Jersey welcome Peter Facinelli, better known as Dr. Carlisle Cullen of the vampire Cullens.

Organizers of the event at Quaker Bridge Mall see it as a way to involve young people in a very simple act with profound reverberations. Statistics show that most of us will need blood or blood products in our lifetime, yet less than 5 percent of the eligible population donate. Many members of that eligible population are fans of Mr. Facinelli and his work as the empathetic doctor.

They can emulate the good doctor’s kindness with a donation. A single pint of blood can save the lives of three people. And a staggering 4.5 million Americans would die each year if it were not for blood donations.”

Official Twilight Convention Los Angeles Kicks Off Today

Laura will be live tweeting the official Twilight convention in Los Angeles this weekend. There was an unusual description from the LA Times’ things to do section about the convention:

“The Official Twilight Convention: Finally, somebody starts paying attention to little Stephenie Meyer’s fantasies of repressed teen desire filtered through the prism of bloodthirsty but sort of ethical vampires. There will be something for every fanatic at this conference celebrating Meyer’s series of books and movies, including a panel on bloodsucker lexicon, a karaoke party with Tinsel Korey and Julia Jones, and a vampire ball where you should be able to strut in your finest velvet and high collar.”

“Bloodsucker Lexicon”, well that’s a first. It never ceases to amaze us how five years into Twilight the press still doesn’t get it. Anyway, those in the know, know it’s a lot of fun. Look for our tweets later today, or come on down on a day pass. A day pass costs roughly what a trip tot he movies does once you add in the popcorn and soda. All the cast have been on set at this point so look for some non-spoilery behind the scenes details.

Access Hollywood: Water For Elephants Featuring Robert Pattinson

Charlie Bewley To Run Ultra-Marathon In Memory of Friend

There is an opportunity for one lucky Twilight fan to see Breaking Dawn Part 1 a day early with 20 of your closest friends. Charlie Bewley is running an ultra-marathon (that’s 40 miles folks, instead of the regular 26) in the memory of a friend who recently passed away from cancer. His friend, Jocelyn, was also in New Moon, Charlie’s silver screen debut, as Dakota Fanning’s stand in.

Charlie took to his website to speak from the heart about Jocelyn, and how he is going to put himself out there to raise money in her memory to fight this disease.

“I have no idea if I can run a marathon, let alone an Ultra. I have a competitive 10km time but this is a completely different story. 40 miles, or 60 kilometers. One-and-a-half marathons. The punishment on the body will be crippling…

…But when the struggle begins, what extra incentive will I need when imagining the battle the subject of my cause endured every day during her illness. Since Jocelyn has passed away, I will now be running for the money you have kindly donated to those responsible for treating her illness… so that many others may be given the opportunity to fight as Jocelyn did. Through the BC Cancer Agency www.bccancer.bc.ca, Jocelyn received many rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and naturopathic treatments to help battle her illness. It seems appropriate to give back to those wonderful people who fought alongside Jocelyn in her journey. “

See more on Charlie’s website

Charlie’s site explains what’s in it for Twilight fans:

“In support of this challenge, Summit Entertainment have very kindly donated the wonderful prize of a private screening of Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 the day before general release to one lucky winner and 20 of their friends*. For every dollar sponsored, you will receive one ticket in the draw to win this and many other prizes. All funds raised will be donated to the British Columbia Cancer Foundation which, together with the BC Cancer Agency, helped Jocelyn throughout her illness.”

The staff of the Lexicon has gotten to know Charlie during the Official Creation Entertainment Twilight conventions. He is absolutely a down-to-earth, and generous person. Charlie was also the only Twilight saga actor who came to our New Moon live podcast and did so for no appearance fee. Fame, in our opinion, hasn’t gotten to his head, and in a business where you go from an unknown to being catapulted into the spotlight, staying grounded is an accomplishment in of itself. We understand that there are many, many worthy causes supported by the actors. If you are able, please donate  because cancer is something that can strike any of us at any time.

Robert Pattinson on Ryan Seacrest

While on a break from filming Breaking Dawn in Vancouver today, Robert Pattinson took a moment to call and chat with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show.  Robert said he was somewhere in the middle of Canada in the mud and the trees and had no idea where he really was!  He didn’t say much about Breaking Dawn stating that he’d get beaten for saying too much.  But he did talk about Water for Elephants which will be out April 22, 2011.

Next Movie: The Twilight Awards

The Confessions of a Male Twi-Hard blog over at Next Movie has an idea that’s not all that crazy:

“The Academy Awards have to attract young viewers to remain the biggest awards show. That’s why they expanded the Best Picture category to 10 nominees, allowing more populist films to be included.

They’ve also started a huge social networking push, announcing recently that the ceremony will be streaming live online, and named the unlikely young duo of Anne Hathaway and James Franco as co-hosts.

This is all costing the Academy a pretty penny, during a time when movie ticket sales are down. However, all they really need to attract younger viewers is “The Twilight Saga.”

I am not suggesting that the prestigious awards show should tarnish its reputation by including “Twilight” nominees in undeserved categories. Most reasonable Twi-Hards are willing to admit Robert Pattinson’s performance as Edward doesn’t quite match up to Colin Firth in “The King’s Speech” or James Franco in “127 Hours.”

What I am suggesting, simply, is they add some categories where “Twilight” will be a lock.

Creepiest Supernatural Performance
Dakota Fanning in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”
Ashley Bell in “The Last Exorcism”
Dimitri Coats in “Suck”
Ken Jeong in “Vampires Suck”

WINNER: Dakota Fanning”
