Dakota Fanning In Her Own Words

Access Hollywod has a quote from Dakota:

“I don’t think they’ll have to put a lot of makeup on me,” she joked. “I’m pretty white already.”

A couple of months back, MTV asked Dakota Fanning what she thought about the Twilight craze.

Dakota had experienced a bit of the Twilight craze first hand because she was at Comic Con in July 2008 in connection with her upcoming film Push. She actually had to be escorted in past the screaming Twilight fans because a major traffic snarl had her late for her scheduled appearance. The fans definitely made an impression.

Entertainment Tonight actually talked directly to Dakota in an exclusive:

"Dakota tells ET that although contracts haven’t been signed, she does hope to join the cast of ‘New Moon.’ She tells us she’s a big fan of the movie ‘Twilight’ and would really like to play a vampire, namely the sadistic bloodsucker Jane."

IESB has also spoken with Dakota who is confirming that she is in talks for New Moon.

Granted, it doesn’t seem like the ink is dry on the contracts, but in general stars don’t talk about an upcoming project unless they are really interested in doing it, and it’s almost a done deal. It’s considered bad form otherwise.

Convention News

There’s been a change of actors appearing at the Chicago Convention. Justin Chon is making an appearance while Kellan Lutz drops out.  Keep in mind this is typical at most cons because actors’ schedules change. ( Jackson Rathbone recently had to cancel an appearance with his band due to an episode of Criminal Minds that he picked up.) Make sure when you are signing up for a multi-day con there are other activities besides actor appearances, because those appearances are always subject to change. Alphie and Pel will be at this con doing several panel discussions.

Creation Entertainment, that currently has the San Fransisco convention planned, is looking to do events in a variety of other cities. They have several events planned for their San Fransisco con including special private meals with the actors. Check out their new cities here including Los Angeles, Parsippany, New Jersey, and Minneapolis.

The Summer school in Forks Convention has John Granger added to the speakers list. They have also added a promotion where fans can win an IPOD Nano by signing up. Check out their site

Twilight Comparisons Everywhere

So, is Inkheart, "Twilght for a slightly younger genration?"

Is Notorious, "Twilight for dudes?"

These are just two examples in recent news. Lately it seems like everytime there is a hyper crowd there’s a Twilight comparison. When the paparazzi are out, suddenly there are questions of "What is Pattinson around?"

It seems like all of a sudden everyone is comparing their upcoming project to Twilight. What do you think of the sudden rash of comparisons?

Popstar.com Covers Twilight

PopStar has an interview with Kelsey Dettman who is creating the Twilight Fan Documentary.

They have also announced the winners of their 2008 Celebrity Love Awards, and they are opening the nominations for their 2009 stars. Rob, Stephenie, Kristen, Taylor, Cam, Ashley, and Kellan all felt the fan love. According to PopStar, here is what the awards are about:

PopStar runs an annual contest each year called the Celebrity Love Awards.  Although the rules may differ for each year, one thing always remains the same:  By writing letters to your favorite celebrities, you officially nominate them as one of the most loved celebrities for that year.

The Celebrity Love Awards is an annual contest that is open from January 1 to December 31.  At the end of the year, we tally up the total number of letters each celebrity has received and announce which celebrities were the most loved.  We then mail all of those letters to the stars directly.

We make it as special as we can, both for the fans and the stars.  The celebrities who win are sent a magnificent package from us that includes a custom CD application that contains all of their fan mail.  They can read the letters exactly as you composed them on our website.

We even make it possible for them to create a celebrity account on our website, so you’ll know when something is truly written by them.  They can even respond to the letters you have written to them, which get posted to your personal profile.

Although we cannot guarantee their participation, we do know that many stars enjoy the packages they receive.  And given this is our third year of running this contest, we have made great strides in the entertainment community.  Your participation encourages theirs!
