Anna Kendrick Hits Big In Toronto

Anna Kendrick is the buzz of the town up in Toronto along with her fellow castmates in Up in the Air. People are talking Oscar for the film, director, and cast.

During the press conference (photo left Photo Credit: AP Photo/Evan Agostini) George Clooney teased Anna with quips like, “”these people made this film work – except for her, Anna.” Anna, just smiled and took the good natured ribbing. it has to be surreal being affectionately teased by Clooney at a major film festival, especially a film that got so much buzz that Oprah and her entourage showed up to see it causing a distraction.

Perhaps Greg From Hit Fix sums it up best (Minor error, Anna was the second youngest to get a Tony nomination. Daisy Egan is the youngest.):

“Actually, any “Twilight” fan already knows Kendrick as Jessica from Forks High, but the 24-year-old didn’t arrive in Hollywood out of nowhere. She turned heads with her work in the indie “Rocket Science” a few years ago and also happens to be the youngest Tony Award nominee on record having been recognized for her work at only 12-years-old. Kendrick also has a prominent role in the upcoming “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” as the title hero’s sister Stacy. So, to the creative community, she’s not an unknown quantity. In “Air,” however, Kendrick shines as Natalie, an eager type-A manager whose miniscule real life experiences haven’t prepared her for her company’s primary profit center of laying off other people’s employees. To be completely honest, Kendrick could have phoned this role in and still gotten positive notices on the strength of the script alone, but like Carey Mulligan in “An Education,” she brings something more to her character that will have audiences talking about her as they exit the theater. Along with “Precious’” Mo’Nique, she’s one of the two supporting actress candidates to really watch out for this year…”

MTV later caught up with Anna on the red carpet at another event.

Happy Birthday Bella!

Happy Birthday Bella, forever young!

David Slade on the Paparazzi

It sounds like Kristen and Taylor had to concentrate knowing they were being filmed by the paparazzi:

According to David Slade’s tweets:

Yes we were shooting Bella and Jacob’s kiss on the mountain, its really a grueling emotional thing to have to shoot over and over.”

We had paparazzi on the ridge about 1/2mile away, their pictures will look bizarre they would have had to use 1000mm+ lenses.”

Really really long paparazzi lenses make everything look terrible, one snuck close to set and was kicked off, another was arrested last week.”

I don’t mind these pap pics, its just annoying when it stops us from shooting, or the images are completely unrepresentative of our shots.”

Bah.”

Today preparation, and the day off, tomorrow editing.”

David Slade Reveals Eclipse Mountain Vista

David Slade it back on Twitter again. This time it’s a Twitpic of the mountain top location. Can we say sleeping bag anyone?

Poor David is having a bit of a rough time. Recent filming at Jacob’s house caused him to have an allergy attack because the place is a working goat farm. Now is bringing us the mountain scenes David tweeted, “6am mountain. A black bear strayed close to us. We shoot solid through, sunburnt and tired we return at sunset.”

MTV Trailer Preview

MTV has a preview of their version of the trailer that is supposedly more extended than what is currently showing in front of Sorority Row. We’re sure some observant person will correct us if we are wrong, but we don’t remember the picture of shirtless Edward with Bella standing on the steps in the footage that that has leaked all over the Internet.

100 Monkeys Tonight At the Rickshaw

Tickets are still available for the 100 Monkeys show at the Rickshaw. For those of you who can’t make it, Mandy will be live tweeting during the show and taking photos. Mandy is a Twilight fan, but more importantly she’s a 100 Monkeys fan, converted after their show last year, so her Tweets will include show details, not just what Rob is wearing, if Rob shows. No video is allowed at this particular show, so tide yourself over with this video from their Allentown show from this summer.

Twilight Bands on the VMAs

Both Death Cab For Cutie ( to headline the New Moon soundtrack) and Paramore (headliners of the Twilight soundtrack are up for VMAs. Paramore is in the best rock video category with some stiff competition by Kings of Leon, Coldplay, Greenday, and Fall Out Boy,  and Death Cab for Cutie is the breakthrough video category in with tons of competition.

Ashley Greene on Breaking Dawn

Ashley Greene discussed Breaking Dawn with MTV. What’s very interesting is where, according to Ashley, they are with that project right now. To us, it seems like they are in the “Well it would be fun to do, I’d totally do it, but there are not firm plans yet” stages.
