Twilight Inspired Tobacco Free Commercial.

This is a bit different, it’s not so much a spoof/parody as it is a public service message. However in fairness to Summit Entertainment, unless we missed something, there was no tobacco placement in any of the Twilight Saga films.

Robert Pattinson and Emilie DeRavin in Vogue

The Vogue article covers how both Rob and Emilie are trying to show the world they can do more than the iconic characters that they are best known for. Rob also explains his aversion to Twitter.

“Ask Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin about shooting their new movie, Remember Me, and they instantly start talking about the throngs of Twilight fans and pushy paparazzi who swarmed around them as they filmed on the streets of New York.

“It was the most ridiculous experience,” says Pattinson, flashing the sweet, shy smile those crowds hoped to see. “You’re trying to stay in character and you’re trying to walk down the street, but all those people keep reminding you that you’re not this character, you’re—”

“A show pony,” cracks de Ravin, and the two burst into laughter…”

NECA Previews New Moon and Eclipse Line For MTV

MTV’s Hollywood Crush has a preview of the NCEA line of action figures, tees, totes, jewelry, etc.

We’ve seen all the action figures and so far we think the Jasper one looks the most like Jackson Rathbone with the Jacob one being a close second. What do you think, which figure do you like, and which character do you most want to see in action figure form?

Taylor Lautner in Abduction: The Ink Isn’t Quite Dry Yet

Taylor_Lautner_leanDeadline Hollywood’s Nikki Finke has some news on Taylor Lautner’s latest projects (which at this rate you need a score card to keep up with!):

Last week Nikki broke the news about Abduction, she wrote:

“Lautner plays a teen who has long felt disconnected from his parents, and figures out why. That unleashes a chain of violent events and enters Bourne territory. Considering he just got on the Hollywood radar because of the Twilight Saga (imagine, he was almost recast before New Moon) and just days ago blew out the candles on his 18th birthday cake, Lautner with his 8-pack abs is the newest and youngest action star in a dizzying volume of movie deals made over recent weeks. He’s already the lead in two major studio superhero franchises — Universal’s Stretch Armstrong and Paramount’s Max Steel..”

Today Nikki has some more details on how it’s not quite a done deal yet:

“On the Lautner front, a deal for Shawn Christensen’s spec script should have been wrapped up by now, but it’s not. I’m told that’s because the Lautner camp has been steadfast on getting the $7.5 million quote established by Skydance for Northern Lights. Studios are understandably hesitant. It’s a lot of money for an 18-year old who hasn’t yet proven he can carry a film by himself, yet is on a salary trajectory rarely seen especially for someone so young. ..”

So what do you think? Despite his current age of just 18 does Taylor have what it takes to carry an action movie? In all likelihood he’ll be 19 or 20 by the time his multiple projects are filmed and then air.

Convention Advice

There’s been a lot of tweeting and emails over this past weekend where people have been asking us about conventions. To make it easier, rather than trying to answer everyone’s email and tweets (and it’s hard to explain things in 140 characters on Twitter) we thought we’d re-run a convention advice piece that we have run before.

So if you’ve seen this info before, scroll down to the Verizon commercial post which we think is hilarious. And if you are in need of advice keep reading! [Read more…]

Mike, unlike many of the Twilight cast, does live theater every year. Frequently his performances have charity outreach nights. Broadway.com describes the event:

“An all-star cast has joined together in Los Angeles for a special benefit reading of 110 Stories, at 8pm on February 22nd at The Geffen Playhouse (10886 Le Conte Avenue, Los Angeles 90024). Proceeds go to the RED CROSS of Greater Los Angeles.

New York playwright Sarah Tuft, has weaved more than thirty personal stories recorded in the aftermath of September 11th. “110 Stories” is the “people’s 9/11” and the only non-politicized, non-sensationalized version of the events, created from first-person accounts of those directly involved. The play doesn’t recreate. Instead it aims to shed light on who we really are, as revealed by extreme circumstances.
