Noel Fisher Talks Battle Los Angeles and Breaking Dawn to About.com

Noel Fisher gave a great interview to About.com talking about his new film Battle Los Angeles and Breaking Dawn.

“I know you’re not allowed to say much about Breaking Dawn, but have you shot your scenes yet?

Noel Fisher: “Yes, actually. I’m back in Los Angeles because I have a two week break. We are done with the Louisiana portion – we’re all done with that. The biggest part of my character stuff is done. We have some more stuff; I get to go back home to Vancouver for the first time to work. That will be kind of fun – it’s a nice way to go back home. So, we’re going to go up and shoot a couple more things up there. That’s been a lot of fun. Everyone’s really cool.”

The returning cast all know each other well, but there’s a huge group of new actors for Breaking Dawn. How are you being accepted by the veterans?

Noel Fisher: “Oh, completely. Completely. That’s the really nice thing about that set is that everyone is really inviting. You hang out with anyone that happens to be on the set with you at work, you get advice some of the veteran Volturi, you know what I mean? It’s just a big hang out. We took over the Hilton in Baton Rouge downtown. It was literally like 60 or 70 people all staying at this one hotel. It was just a big frat room.”

What advice did they give you?

Noel Fisher: “Like where the coolest places to go are for, say, conventions. You know, because a lot of them have gotten to do some great traveling, they’ve traveled the world to visit all these wonderful fans all over the place. Just cool things to do in different cities. They’ve been part of this whole kind of really big world that the Twilight phenomenon is and they just wanted to welcome the newcomers and say, ‘Hey, here are some of the things that you might want to check out while you’re here.'”

The Lex Celebrates FIVE Years On Line and Needs Your Help!

In just a few short weeks the Lexicon will be celebrating it’s FIFTH – yes FIFTH birthday! Never in a million years did we ever think we’d be on line and going strong five years after we started this “little” site, but yet here we are! If you’ve been around for past birthday celebrations, then we must tell you that nothing we’ve given away will ever compare to what we have in store for you during our birthday celebration. Trust me when I say in complete and sincere honesty that if you are a Twilight fan, you will want every single thing we have planned to give away. We have five prizes so amazing that we’ve never given them away before. EVER!

To help us get into the birthday mood, we need your help! In the past we have done podcasts where we’ve shared various funny stories from our years dealing with the Twilight fandom. But in planning a podcast for this birthday we were left trying to figure out what people most want to know from us that we haven’t already discussed. So we decided to let you ask all the questions!

Over the next few days, we will be taking questions from all of you here on the blog and over on our message boards.  You can ask us anything you’ve ever wanted to know about anything having to do with the site or Twilight. We will pull what we feel are some of the most interesting questions and answer them in a podcast and post it to kick off our birthday celebration.

We’re so pleased that you’ve stuck with us for all these years and are really very excited to share this birthday with all of you. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for all the support we’ve had from this fandom. We look forward to reading your questions!

Twi-Cruise Takes on the Mediterranean

If you are looking for an escape this summer – and who couldn’t use an escape after the bitter winter we’ve all had – consider taking a Twilight themed cruise around the Mediterranean.  This is the same company who hosted the Twilight Alaskan cruise last year.  Now they are taking on a trip around Spain and Italy.  Here is the info from their press release:

Fans of the Twilight Saga will cruise from Rome around the Mediterranean for a Twi Cruise adventure on board a luxurious cruise ship in June. Hosting this sparkling cruise event are The Immortals, a cast of tribute artists with an uncanny resemblance to the beloved Cullens . This 10 day tribute cruise to the Twilight Saga will include a Costume Event, La Dolce Vita Cocktail Party and Dance, Trivia Contests, Original Games like Cullen Family Feud, Immortal Idol Talent Show, Legends Karaoke Party, Q & A and photo ops with the Immortals, Vendors Room and a Charity Auction with proceeds benefitting the Quileute Tribal Schools in La Push, Washington.

Holland America’s Noordam leaves from the port for Rome (Civitavecchia) on June 20th; she will return to port on June 30th. Your “floating resort” will take you to Livorno for Florence and Pisa; Monte Carlo; Barcelona; Palma de Mallorca; Tunisia; Palermo; Sicily and Naples for Pompei and Capri.  This is a private event and must be booked through Cruises Cruises Cruises for admittance to the special Twi Cruise events on board.

A custom-designed tour to Volterra after the cruise will give fans an up-close look at the charming yet unassuming Tuscan town that is the inspiration for Stephenie Meyer’s sinister vampire monarchy, the Volturi. The tour will also visit Montepulciano (where “New Moon” was filmed), Florence and Rome. You can even get your picture taken with our Edward underneath the clocktower!

Last year Pel, along with Kimmy from HisGoldenEyes, tried to make her way to Montepulciano.  Although they did make it, their trip was full of complications and disasters as getting to the city is very difficult.  More so, Volterra is even more impossible to reach.  Given that this tour provides a guide to both cities as well as Twilight themed activities along the rest of the route, we think this would be your best bet if you’ve ever wanted to visit these two cities safely and without too many struggles.

Facebook FanPages Let them Hear You

This is an open letter to other Twilight Site ops who use Facebook and anyone in general who uses Facebook fanpages. The recent changes to the Facebook fan pages ( they are currently an optional upgrade but eventually everyone will be upgraded to this new version on March 10) have two HUGE problems with them as far as we see and perhaps others depending on your point of view. If you are having issues like we are, Facebook needs to hear you! People who run not-for-profit sites, educational institutions sites, band sites, sites like ours are up in arms. You can see the post and complaints here that are roughly 2,500 and growing. Putting this under a cut because it’s a long one!

Michael Welch and Bill Tangradi Make Young Fan’s Day

Mike Welch and Bill Tangradi, who plays Randall in Breaking Dawn, made a young fan’s day at the UK Twilight convention. We’re not sure, but we think Mike and Bill are wearing hotel bathrobes because there was a pajama party theme on one of the days.

Breaking Dawn Cast Starts to Arrive in Vancouver

The Breaking Dawn Cast started to arrive in Vancouver over the weekend. According to People:

“The cast of Twilight is once again converging on the Canadian city, this time to film the Breaking Dawn films, with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart arriving together on Monday…Three other cast members arrived Sunday night on the same flight – Mia Maestro, who plays the vampire Carmen; Myanna Buring, who plays Tanya; and Mackenzie Foy, the 10-year-old newcomer who plays the daughter of Edward and Bella Cullen.

More arrivals are expected as the week goes on.”

One reporter new to the Vancouver scene, who is a Twilight fan, asked MacKenzie Foy for her autograph(seen left video below).  You have to love the newbieness of this particular reporter who seemed stunned that her encounter would end up on a fansite after she Tweeted about it using a Breaking Dawn hash tag on Twitter.  Tweeting with regulars who cover Vancouver  and using a Breaking Dawn hash tag wasn’t exactly low profile. It’s sort of like running into the middle of Times Square waving a huge “I love Twilight banner” and screaming “I’m here” into a megaphone and then expecting no one to notice…subtle it’s not. She just started a new blog about her relatively new career. Check it out here.

There’s also a video of her encounter. MacKenzie’s mom was there as well as security and they didn’t seem to mind the video camera so we are posting the footage.

Cinematographer Guillermo Navarro Talks Breaking Dawn

A local San Antonio blog caught up with Breaking Dawn cinematographer Guillermo Navarro and they covered his Oscar winning films and new projects like Breaking Dawn and I Am Number Four(seen left).

“Your next two films are the final two chapters of The Twilight Saga known as Breaking Dawn. Since you were not involved in the first three movies, what is your mindset going into this one as the new guy? Do you want to create that parallel universe like you talked about from scratch or do you feel more limited by the work that came before you and by what fans of the series are expecting?

No, I don’t feel limited by that. The book itself allows for the story to be propelled and I’m pushing that. I can’t really talk about it much, but I saw a very big opportunity to have a strong contribution in it.”
