Reminder: Facepunch Contest Ends Tomorrow

This is just a quick reminder that tomorrow is the last day to enter our Face Punch trailer contest to win autographed prizes. We will be giving away a Stephenie Meyer autograph to one of the winners as well as items autographed by multiple members of the cast that have appeared at Creation Entertainment events this year. 1. The video must be between one minute and two and a half minutes in length. Any video longer than two minutes and thirty seconds will be disqualified.

2. The video should resemble traditional trailers of various scenes and not be one long, continuous scene.

3. The video can use dialogue and references from The Twilight Saga: New Moon but it cannot be the actual recorded sound from the film.

4. The video must be posted on YouTube on your own channel. We will not host your video for you.

5. You must send us a link to your YouTube video to [email protected].

6. You must send us your video information by May 5, 2010. Winners will be announced May 7, 2010.

David Slade In the Future

Last night David Slade posted a series of comments on Twitter about what life would be like in the future. From our perspective it’ sort of a rant where Brave New World meets antagonized director microblogging. See for yourself:

“IN THE FUTURE artificial intelligence google apps will tell us whether we are indeed reading real news or just a blog.

IN THE FUTURE ai [Lexion note: we assume ai means artificial intelligence] apps will be grade online journalism for its accuracy, poignancy, grammar and quality of writing.

IN THE FUTURE online ai grading will lead to the demise of blogging and the new rise of quality journalism.

IN THE FUTURE actors will have tiny GPS trackers positioned all over their skin so they can act in performance capture anywhere they want.

IN THE FUTURE there will be no need for actors.

IN THE FUTURE there will be no need for directors.

IN THE FUTURE there will be no need for you or me. But we will still be here.

IN THE FUTURE painting will still be a dead medium, and people will still paint.

IN THE FUTURE our children will be born more intelligent than we could ever be.

IN THE FUTURE

IN THE FUTURE everyone will be happy all of the time.

IN THE FUTURE everyone will lie to each other each and every minute of the day, and everyone will know.

IN THE FUTURE there will be no context for anything, and nothing will be in context.

IN THE FUTURE there will be no shades of grey, just facts.

IN THE FUTURE no one will know anything, and everything will be subjective and all facts will be true, in every sense.

IN THE FUTURE, the future will be out of fashion.

IN THE FUTURE the future will be in fashion, but just for 15 minutes.

I give you THE FUTURE, and goodnight. DS

100 Monkeys Named A Band to Watch by Rolling Stone

Of the many acts at this years Bamboozle festival, Rolling Stone picked five bands that stood out, and 100 Monkeys made the cut.

“100 Monkeys: This eccentric Cali act have a built-in buzz magnet — bandmember Jackson Rathbone, also known as one of Twilight‘s famous vampires. Their spazzy, energetic Saturday set blended tribal sounds with vocals recalling Jim Morrison’s baritone croon. The “can-this-be-real?” factor ran high thanks to song titles like “The Monkey Song,” lyrics like “free, free, free the beast” and five guys in bandanas jumping around and playing hand drums, trumpet and flute. The band’s latest release, Grape, is out now.”

Congrats to Jackson Rathbone and  the entire band!

Official Eclipse Website Updates With Cast Photos

The official Twilight Saga movie website has updated the Eclipse section with various photos. The photos are scattered throughout the site in various montages, but they are also most easily seen in the cast section. Notably missing is a shot of Booboo Stewart, Gil Brimingham, Billy Burke, and Bella’s high school friends. We’ve asked Summit for info on these missing people, we’ll update you when we have an answer.

The photos are not as heavily stylized as they were for New Moon. For example the wolfpack doesn’t look like they stopped off for spray tans. Also Alex Meraz, Chaske Spencer, and Bronson Pelletier look much more like themselves than they did in the New Moon group shots where Alex in particular looked very different.

Jackson Rathbone’s hair continues to morph yet again to another style. It’s decidedly less poofy than the previous films and a warmer shade of blonde. speaking of hair, we really liked the photo of Dan Cudmore. The weird combover thing from New Moon has changed.

So which star’s look is your favorite?

Chaske Spencer Creates Hostess Cupcake Art

Chaske Spencer, along with other celebrities, has created art based on the iconic Hostess cupcake.  It’s all going up for auction to benefit children in need in the New York City area.

“A drum set made of cupcakes. A cupcake moon shining its squiggles on the Las Vegas desert. A cupcake enveloped in a valentine made of lentils. All of the above are among the original artworks created by celebrities including Rosie O’Donnell, Padma Lashkmi (Top Chef), Chelsea Handler, Chaske Spencer (Twilight), Jordin Sparks (American Idol) and Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl), among others, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the iconic squiggle on Hostess CupCakes and benefit Free Arts NYC, an organization dedicated to providing educational and arts programs to under-served children.

Hostess is hoping these celebrity squiggles inspire cupcake lovers across America to submit their own original artwork featuring the famous squiggle in a way that reflects their own personal heritage, experience and personality. Five winning “portraits” from among public submissions will be chosen to be painted on Hostess delivery trucks across the country. Winners will also receive a $1,000 cash prize.”

You can find items done by the other celebrities here. We know we are biased, but we really think Chaske’s is the most creative.

MTV: Robert Pattinson Comic Coming in May

rpattz-bluewaterBluewater Comics who previously created issues featuring Stephenie Meyer and Kristen Stewart has debuted a graphic from its upcoming Robert Pattinson edition.  Usually some artwork in these editions is based on well known photos of the person being profiled. It seems to us that this piece is an artist’s rendering of Rob from the baseball scene in Twilight.

MTV has a six-page preview of the issue where they cover everything from Harry Potter to Little Ashes.

Check out the full story on MTV.

The Toyota SUV she drove from the Eastern North Carolina town of Willard with five nieces and nephews was covered in hand-painted slogans to celebrate Saturday’s “Twilight” convention at the Charlotte Marriott Executive Park.
