Sneak Peak at the New Moon Trailer

Et logoEntertainment Tonight has posted fifteen seconds worth of footage from New Moon.  The complete strailer will be shown at the MTV movie awards on Sunday night at 9pm EST.

We are linking to the video for those of you who wish to stay spoiler free.  But seeing as it is a trailer, I can’t imagine any fans not enjoying hearing Bella say the line that was missing from Twilight.

Catherine Hardwicke Interviewed For MTV Awards

Catherine Hardwicke and her infamous bed made it to an MTV interview in preparation for the Movie Awards.

“Talking about the Best Fight nomination for “Twilight” was very interesting. As you know, the fight scene between Edward and James wasn’t actually written in the book — Bella just wakes up in the hospital — so for this, Catherine was able to completely conjure up the scene. She pulled out all the storyboards and talked us through the anatomy of the scene and how both actors prepared mentally and physically for the roles. With a small budget, she even resorted to using a combination of string cheese and chicken for the torn bits of flesh.”

See the whole interview on MTV.

Happy Birthday Justin Chon

Kaleb Nation At Book Expo America

Kaleb Nation is going to be at Book Expo America tomorrow (BEA)!  BEA is a major publishing industry event. If you are in publishing, a bookseller, a librarian, or in education you are able to attend the show.  Pel and BME will be there starting around 10:00. We’ll be the ones trying to act cool but going all fangirly around Shannon Hale, Ridley Pearson, & Deanna Raybourn. We’ll try not to go too fangirly around Kaleb, the April Fools video was enough.

Tweet us if you are around!

New Moon Piazza Photo Montage

One fan has strung together a series of photos all acquired from different sources and angles to represent what the filming looked like from Edward’s appearance, to Bella’s run through the fountain, to the kiss, to Bella finally dragging Edward back into the shadows.

Again we are linking so if you are trying to stay spoiler free you aren’t forced into seeing images.

Filming continues today in the piazza, close-up shots of previous footage and additional background.

Brad Meltzer:Twilight Fan & Proud

Brad Meltzer was on a new segment on NPR called My Guilty Pleasure, and guess what his guilty pleasure is.

“…let me say to you as a meat-eating, Entourage-watching, sports-loving (OK, I really don’t love sports, or actually understand sports) — heterosexual man who can’t sit through a single show on Lifetime television, let me loudly proclaim: I, Brad Meltzer, love the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.

Now this is the part where I’m supposed to make an intellectual disclaimer like: I don’t really love it, but I appreciate it for what it is.

But let me be clear here. I love it. I love Twilight. I love Bella, and I love Edward.”

You can read of listen to Brad on the NPR site.

Buy Bella’s Truck

We have to say that we have no independent proof that this item it legit. That’s not to say it isn’t but we have nothing at our disposal to either prove or disprove it.

The seller says they have a certificate of authenticity, like all things Ebay, use your judgement. If you want a classic Chevy Red pick up, that could well be Bella’s truck, this could be all yours.

TY to Monica.

Three Contests For Vampire Baseball

We are running a series of contests along with the folks over at Twilight Fan Trips.  As many of you know, this group has a variety of trips that they run in the Portland and Forks areas. This year they have an extra special event that benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They have several actors from the film participating in a baseball game.

So here is a rundown on the contests:

Contest 1: Throw the first ball for the Cast/Crew Vampire Baseball game!

Date of promotion: 5/28/09-6/28/09

Description:

Order your tickets from one of the two links below depending on what package you want (if you have already ordered tickets someone will be contacting you to ask what site you saw the event advertised on. Be sure and mention us and you’ll be entered.)

Day – http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0F0042ADDD425CFD?camefrom=CFC_PGEPARK_TWILIGHTLEXICON

VIP – http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0F0042ADE9D561C3?camefrom=CFC_PGEPARK_TWILIGHTLEXICON

The fansite (of course we are hoping that it is us) that has the most people who buy their tickets and note their fansite’s promotional code will have the opportunity to randomly select (from our ticket purchasers) the fan who will get to throw the first ball for the Cast/Crew Vampire Baseball game.

Contest 2 : Your Vampire Baseball Video could be featured on the “big screen” at the Vampire Baseball game at PGE stadium

Date of promotion: 6/5-6/19

Description:

FanTrips.Travel is going to set up a YouTube Channel for fans to post a fun video on – up to 4 minutes in length

Vampire Baseball. Fans can be as creative as they want – making a “How Do You Play Vampire Baseball Instructional Video” to perhaps a mock game or sports commentary.

Each fan will be encouraged to post their video on the channel – noting (in our case ) The Lexicon as their fansite. Fans will then send in an email with the link to their video (we’ll shortly be providing a special email address). We will collect all the links for fellow Lexiconers to review.

We will then will hold a competition and will vote on the “best fan video” representing  the Lexicon.

The  winner from the Lexicon will then be put into a “final” competition where fans from all sites can judge the video they love the most.

The top 3 winners of that final competition will have their videos featured on “the big screen” at PGE Park during Vampire Baseball day.

Vampire Baseball Cheer Promotion

Date: Organize and submit your cheer by 6/25/09. Do your cheer with your fans 7/4/09!

Description:

This is a fun promotion to have the Lexicon be a part of the event itself and to get fans get together and cheer at the stadium – showing their solidarity for the Lex!

Our site will be given 2 minutes during the Vampire Baseball event where we can do a customized cheer. So we figured the only way to have people from all over the place learn a cheer it would have to be something they could immediately be comfortable with. And then the light sparked. The Lexicon cheer will be to the tune of Take Me Out To The Ballgame. Be as creative as you want! Just rearrage the classic lyrics to include mentions of the Lex and Twilight. Fans attending the game can then belt out the Lex cheer. we’ll provide a discussion area in the forums so if people want to talk about dressing on theme, bringing support posters, whatever, they can get organized.

At the appointed time, the Lex fans fans get to do their cheer at the game! FanTrips.Travel will work with us to rope off areas for our fans to sit together during the game.

Best part is you don’t need to attend to participate in this contest. Whoever provides the winning lyrics (we’ll shortly provide and email address) will get the item of their choosing from the Lexicon Cafepress shop.
