Borders Merchandise & San Diego Event

Borders will be having the next round of Twilight Saga Merchandise hit their stores this week.

According to Borders, The price for their trading cards is $3.99 each packet.  There are 72 base cards, randomly inserted bonus cards feature: 9 ALWAYS cards, 6 DIFFERENT cards, 3 IN PURSUIT cards.

Also if Lauren’s Bite has inspired you to want a Pocket Edward of your own, the Bella and Edward two pack is available in Borders for $39.99 while supplies last. We believe it also comes with a Cullen Crest bonus.

Also, speaking of Borders, we have something very awesome coming up with them. We are still working out the details, but Alphie, Pel, and Be My Escape (AKA Lori, Laura, & Jen) will all be at Comic Con in San Diego this year. After the Comic Con panel is over there is going to be an awesome event at a nearby Borders. Details coming as the event gets closer.

The event will not only feature our site but also Kimmy from His Golden Eyes, Kara “Team Switzerland” from Twilighters Anonymous, Matt and Andrew from Twilight Source/Imprint Podcast, Kallie and Kassie from Twilight Series Theories. Kudos to Kallie for being our organizational genius. If you haven’t checked out a TST podcast, make sure you do. Kallie and Kassie are just the right mix of sass and fun.

Three Cheers For Lauren’s Bite

The Lauren’s Bite Blog, home of Pocket Edward, is celebrating it’s 100th post. Lauren is celebrating with bunches of giveaways, so go over and check her out!

She just posted a new Lost meets Twilight (and about 10 other fandoms thrown in) parody using action figures. Of course Pocket Edward features in several places.

His Golden Eyes Update

Looks like His Golden Eyes should be on their new server and be up and running this weekend. Let the DNS dust settle and people should be able to see them by Sunday or Monday at the latest.

Good luck to Kimmy and crew, we know first hand what a pain it is to have to switch hosts and products, and to get the technical runaround.

Kristen Stewart: Metro Canada Interview

Kristen Stewart is number four in Metro Canada’s ongoing five-part series. They have previously given an overview, talked with Chris Weitz and Taylor Lautner, and next up they are promising Robert Pattinson.  On a side note, in a year and a half of covering movie related stories, this is hands down the best Kristen Stewart interview we’ve seen.

What are the changes in this second installment? Your character Bella takes risks again…

Well, she loses what basically gives her the drive to do anything in her whole life. She loses the man she’s in love with, but she also loses her entire life plan, and she’s so young to have to be forced into a decision like that. It’s just a glorified, elaborate version of the worst breakup you’ve ever been through. All of a sudden you question everything. All of a sudden you know nothing and you’re dropped in the middle of a freezing cold ocean.

Oddly, we have a character that’s warm enough and bright enough to bring her out of that, and it’s truly gut-ripping. Because as perfect as Jacob is for her, she holds on to an ideal, the ultimate fiery love that she has for Edward even though it’s not comfortable, it’s not practical and it’s not a good idea. So it’s really a very strong thing to do. It takes someone who really trusts themselves…”

So what does Kristen prefer, the werewolf or the vampire?

Kristen shouldn’t open her mouth (Laughs). Kristen is entirely torn. Kristen should stop using her name in the third person…”

Ashley Greene in Nylon Magazine

Looking stunning as always, Ashley Greene posed for Nylon and answered questions on New Moon and her budding Hollywood career.

On moving to Los Angeles as a high school senior: “You’re 17. There are no adults. It’s L.A. And so I went through this stage where I would just go out, not be responsible, not focus on work or class, and my management was like, ‘Listen, you could go either way. You could be this person – I won’t name names – a reality show actress. Or you could go this way – award-winning actress.’ That was a real shock.”

On the Twilight cast: “We get along really well,” she says of her co-stars, who are all confirmed through at least a third movie. “And thank God! Can you imagine going back over and over if we didn’t?”

Kristen Stewart Goes Joan Jett

Both Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning have been really busy on the set of The Runaways where they are doing everything from vocal practice to guitar lessons.

RadarOnline caught Kristen’s new look for the film. It may not be the final look, but it seems to be a great first run. What do you think?

About.Com: Mike Welch, Peter Facinelli, Kellan Lutz

About.com was on the red carpet at the MTV movie awards and got a bunch of New Moon stars to comment.

Mike Welch

Talk about the fans – how are you handling this? All you have to say is Twilight and they start screaming.

Michael Welch: “They are incredible. I live in LA, I grew up here, it’s not that crazy for me because it’s LA, you know? When I go outside of LA, no matter where it is, really anywhere I go, people will be stopping me or taking pictures or whatever it is. And it’s great. It’s amazing. I’m just lucky. I know it’s not me it’s that I’m lucky to be a part of this thing. No, I mean I do what I do. But it’s just great. I couldn’t be more grateful about it.”

Kellan Lutz

So how was Chris Weitz as a director?

Kellan Lutz: “Amazing. So chill. Being an actor in the second movie with all the weight off of your shoulders was really fun to look forward to. And then working with such a chill, mellow director – he was just so much fun to work with. So easygoing. And he had everything planned out so whenever we had a question as an actor, especially with our characters or the scene, he had answers right away.”

Peter Facinelli

How different is it going to be from Twilight?

Peter Facinelli: “You know, I think there’s a lot more action in there. It’s going to hopefully appear more epic, more studio-like, you know?”

More studio-like? How do you mean?

Peter Facinelli: “Well, the original… Twilight was more of an indie film so it kind of felt like, when you looked at it, it felt like a smaller budget. This one I think it will feel like there was more money on the screen. I think that more money will go towards the CGI stuff, which needs to be because there is a lot more CGI stuff in New Moon with the werewolves and stuff. And you know, whenever you have two directors that are different you can’t ask… Catherine [Hardwicke’s] an artist, you know? You know you can’t ask someone to paint the same picture. They’re going to paint their own picture and try to keep it in the realm of the story…”

Chris Weitz: Interviewed on Metro Canada

Metro Canada continues their New Moon series of interviews. Today’s interview is with Chris Weitz.

Q. How does it feel to take over directorial duties of such a successful franchise?

A. On the one hand, it’s exciting to take over a successful franchise. On the other, it’s daunting. There are so many fans who have high expectations for this film, but it’s made easy by the fact that I inherited this amazing cast who are certainly very talented. So half of the time, I’m just overjoyed to be a part of this and the other half, I’m nervous that I’m going to be hunted down and killed by a pack of 14-year-old teenage girls in about a year’s time!”

Tomorrow they will be posting an interview with Kristen Stewart.
