New Moon Is A Piece of Cake

Kim at the Twilight Parents Examiner intervied the cake designer who made the cake seen in the New Moon trailer footage.

“In Style Magazine asked Lisa for step by step instructions on recreating the cake:
1. Cover each cake tier with a “mask” of white fondant [a thick, malleable icing]. Stack tiers from largest to smallest.
2. Separate one package of fondant into 5 batches. Use food coloring to tint each batch a different shade of green.
3. Roll each batch of fondant into a thin sheet and cut into strips of varying width.
4. Attach the strips around each tier using stiff royal icing as glue.
5. Place red, yellow and green Gerbera daisies around the bottom of each tier.”

Beckett Teen Sensations Twilight Issue

A couple of months ago Beckett Teen Sensations magazine contacted us because they were putting out a Twilight issue and they wanted to hear from really involved fans. Well they just got back to us and the issue comes out.

According to Beckett Teen Sensations:

“Twilight issue hits next week on newsstands everywhere. It will be available at Walmart, Barnes & Noble, Border Books, Target and many other locations…I was able to include 11 different fans from your website.”

They also tell us that they are planning other Twilight focused issues and may come back to us for more fan participation.

Peter Facinelli: Riddle Me This

Peter Facinelli has been keeping his Twitter followers entertained by putting up riddles every week or so. Some are cheesy, but it’s a lot of fun guessing.

Peter also spoke about what’s going on with the infamous bet and the back of his chair. It seems he did hit the margin of users needed (the numbers were all over the place) but Twitter recently put on some type of controls where only so may people could follow your account in a short time as a spam prevention. So long story short, even though it only looks like Peter has roughly 300,000 (at this writing) users, he actually did hit the 500,000 mark.

So, Rob (Peter’s IPhone app designer, not Pattinson) will be doing the bikini shuffle on June 30th. Peter has promised to take photos.

To thank his fans for their support, Peter is going to give his Twilight chair seat back to on of his followers on Twitter. Additionally, Rob (who is really being an incredibly good sport in all of this) is giving away several free Peter Facinelli IPhone apps.

Peter is going to the Affliction clothing store to pick out Rob’s bikini and Affliction has agreed to donate $10,000 to the Christopher Reeve Foundation in honor of Peter’s followers. Additionally, Peter will be doing a signing at Affliction on TUESDAY JUNE 30th 4-7 pm. Affliction-Los Angeles Store 7811 Melrose Avenue Los Angeles. He’ll be announcing who wins his chairback and the IPhone apps there. The winners do not need to be present to win. Information on how to enter all contests will be posted here (the site is currently down, we’re sure that they will shortly have it fixed.)

Sue Bird of the WNBA Seattle Storm Twilight Fan

According to a recent ESPN interview, Sue Bird of the WNBA Seattle Storm is a fan of the Twilight books. The movies haven’t exactly won her over, but she is definitely a die-hard book fan.

So what have you read recently?

I read “Twilight” when I was overseas. I actually liked it. I didn’t expect to, because I generally don’t like fantasy like that because it’s far-fetched but I liked it. It’s pretty good.

My niece loves it. And there is a whole group of women aged 30-50 called Twi-Moms. A friend of ours saw it seven times in the theater. She couldn’t get enough of it.

I read the book and I thought it was amazing. So you read a book and you have this whole mental image of what people look like and the place they are and then I watched the movie, and I know women go gaga over Edward but I could have picked 10 better Edwards.”

Twilight Examiner Interviews Peter Facinelli

The Twilight Examiner had a chance to talk to Peter Facinelli about New Moon, Nurse Jackie, and his hopes for Eclipse:

“Having just wrapped The Twilight Saga: New Moon with director Chris Weitz, Facinelli is to be back on the Twilight set once again – this time with David Slade for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. I asked Facinelli whether he was surprised at all that his work in Twilight has potentially led to a four-part film series. Said he, “Well, when we first shot it, you know, I think no one really knew that it was going to be this big. I think we were just hoping to satisfy the fans of the books, and we knew there was this underground following. Again, no one really knew it was going to snowball into this huge thing… kind of like my Twitter bet… No one knew it was going to snowball into that huge thing either.”

You can get the entire interview on the Examiner.
