“When Xavier Samuel arrived in Vancouver last summer, he didn’t make it far past baggage claim before he started making headlines. With just a few offbeat Australian flicks under his belt, the sandy-haired 26-year-old had been chosen to play newborn vampire Riley, the latest heartthrob in The Twilight Saga. Almost instantaneously he was being hailed as Robert Pattinson’s doppelgänger and couldn’t get coffee without seeing flashbulbs.
“It was all very sudden, not just with the paparazzi but also with being cast in general,” says Xavier, who’s been acting since high school. “I did an audition from Sydney on tape. Then I got word that it was down to four guys—and that I was one of them.” (Rumor has it he beat out Channing Tatum and Harry Potter’s Tom Felton for the part.)”

Both Kellan Lutz and Xavier Samuel (Riley in Eclipse) are in a new photo spread, according to MTV Hollywood crush, on VMan.

Xavier seems to be sporting a Don Johnson retro Miami Vice look from the late 1980’s.
Jackson Rathbone, Xavier Samuel, Nikki Reed, and Mike Welch each have projects that are coming up that are a bit edgier than the Twilight Saga. Nikki Reed, Last Day of Summer
Xavier Samuel made a short film called Drowning. It will be at the Flickerfest Film Festival. Thanks to Larry411 on Twitter ( who has another featurette on Xavier) for the heads up.
Adelaide Now interviewed local boy made good, Xavier Samuel, before Xavier popped home for Christmas.
“DRESSED in jeans and scuffed boots and climbing out of a beaten-up Ford Falcon, Xavier Samuel looked like any other young bloke when he turned up for his city hair appointment on Thursday.
That was only because the hordes of teenage girls who have been following his every move on the internet for the past few months were nowhere to be seen – they didn’t even know he was in town.
International paparazzi have hounded the former Adelaide drama student since he landed a role in the third Twilight movie, Eclipse, which completed filming in Canada two months ago.
Due to be released next June, the film, which also stars Twilight leads Kristen Stewart and heart-throb Robert Pattinson, is set to make Samuel, 25, a major Hollywood star.
This week he was enjoying some downtime in his home town, where he caught up with mates at Rundle St spots The Exeter and Sugar nightclub, before spending Christmas relaxing with his mum Maree and dad Clifford, brother Benedict, 21, and sister Bridget, 28. “

Xavier is so down-to-earth and genuine. We were impressed by how welcoming he was to all the fansites when we met him on the red carpet back in November.
David Slade Tweeted a picture of Xavier Samuel in character as Riley. David said, “In celebration of wrap first Eclipse cast photo Xavier Samuels between set ups as Riley Biers.” Well, looks like we now know what Riley’s last name is, at least in movieverse.
Larry from ProNetworks caught up with Xavier Samuel, whose career he has been following way before the Eclipse madness started, at the Loved Ones party. He has pictures with Xavier’s co-star Victoria Thaine and the promise of more to come.
