Then, they’ll join Stewart and Taylor Lautner when they hype the film in Paris on Nov. 10. Castmembers are also expected to visit countries and continents including Germany, South America and Australia in support of the film.”

Filming For Eclipse Almost Complete

David Slade treated us to a picture of what we assume is Bella’s truck, and let us know the status of the film.

“Shooting first day in the Cullen house, its the first day we managed to shoot more than our schedule.”

and

Just one week and a few days to go to complete principle photography, the finish line seems still so far.”

David Slade Gives Behind the Scenes Picture

David Slade was back on Twitter again giving out some details and sharing a behind the scenes image.

Today, vampires talking, vampires kissing, rain stayed away. We had to battle the sunlight to keep our vampires from sparkling too much.”

and

When the vampires sparkle we need to use a special camera filter to expose it on film. Otherwise the film over exposes.”

David Slade: Welcome to the Weather Curse

Free ichat or whatever icon give away from my good friends at... on TwitpicWe’ve often said that the most challenging thing that the Twilight Saga directors have to deal with is the weather. It looks like David Slade is feeling the weather curse of his predecessors now that fall is coming to Vancouver. David just tweeted:

Night shoots, Wolfs Wolfs wolfs, the rain dumped on us but we had to keep shooting until 5am. Then of course the rain drifted away.”

Then he gave out a couple of icons and wallpapers via his friends at Fubear Studios. And then he corrected his grammar.

Wolves wolves wolves, my corrected english. The schedule has been a bit furry of recent. Shooting vampires very soon.

Poor guy. Given the rain and exhaustion, we’re thankful he has time to tweet, even if it does have grammar errors!

Another Tweet from David Slade

I don’t know about you, but here at the Lex we have totally been enjoying reading all the tweets from The Twilight Saga: Eclispe director David Slade.  His most recent tweet should be exciting for Team Jacob fans.

Yesterday Taylor had to carry Kristen for several hours, he held it together – hope he can lift his arms today. Rain dumped on us all day.

Twilight Saga Twitter Round Up: David Slade Praises the Crew

David Slade is tweeting away again. He sounds in better spirits than he did the last time. He’s again paying homage to the unsung heroes behind the scenes. This time it is J.W. who David refers to as the “King of grips”.

In case you were wondering what exactly it is that a grip does, Wikipedia has a good description. You can easily see why this position is key in any movie, especially a stunt heavy one.

“Grips also satisfy rigging needs on set…More advanced rigs can include working with pulleys, steel cable or trusses. Grips are also called on to rig picture cars on process trailers and placing camera and lights all around the vehicle to achieve driving shots…When shooting interiors day-for-night on location, grips need to cut all the daylight entering onto set. If the scene is “blocked” or staged away from windows or other openings to the outside, the light may be simply blacked out with cloth or plastic sheeting…Grips are also responsible for safety on the set as it relates to the force of gravity. Insofar as stands, ladders, scaffolds, and overhead rigs are properly installed, grips are charged with making them safe because the other crew members will invariably have to climb on, walk around, or otherwise negotiate the different grip set-ups. As regards legal statute, the key grip may even be held liable for injuries that happen on set, especially if the injury is the cause of something falling down onto somebody…”

Other David tweets include:

Forrest again today, tomorrow we do wolf shots, saw some great wolf tests today, early stages developed from New Moon wolves.”

and

Worked w/entire Cullen family today. @peterfacinelli borrowed my camera, took my picture being strangled by Jackson, will upload later…”

David Slade on the Paparazzi

It sounds like Kristen and Taylor had to concentrate knowing they were being filmed by the paparazzi:

According to David Slade’s tweets:

Yes we were shooting Bella and Jacob’s kiss on the mountain, its really a grueling emotional thing to have to shoot over and over.”

We had paparazzi on the ridge about 1/2mile away, their pictures will look bizarre they would have had to use 1000mm+ lenses.”

Really really long paparazzi lenses make everything look terrible, one snuck close to set and was kicked off, another was arrested last week.”

I don’t mind these pap pics, its just annoying when it stops us from shooting, or the images are completely unrepresentative of our shots.”

Bah.”

Today preparation, and the day off, tomorrow editing.”
