Hollywood Crush: Anna Kendrick’s Twilight Future

Somewhat predictably, Anna Kendrick isn’t certain that Jessica Stanley will be making any more appearances in Twilight movies after Eclipse. She recently spoke to MTV’s Hollywood Crush.

“”I honestly feel like Jessica is one of those characters that if she wasn’t in the movie, nobody would miss her,” she said. “At the same time, I feel a certain affection for the films so if they ask me, I would love to. I don’t have my fingers crossed either way.”

She added, “I’ve been really lucky to not be defined completely by that series.”

And yet, in spite of all that, I remember being at Comic-Con in 2008 when “Twilight” first debuted the entire cast and, despite the fact she was not on the panel, hearing a buzz around the exhibit hall floor that the girl who played Jessica was near the “Twilight” booth. Though Anna was not well known by mainstream audiences before “Twilight” and “Up in the Air,” she was at least beloved by “Twi”-hards for just being a part of the film.”

“Human pride! There are a lot of people in this that are capable of the kind of work that could lead to an Oscar nomination. It doesn’t happen to many actors. Anna deserves it. She has an uncanny ability to get under the skin of her characters…”

Anna Kendrick’s Proud Mom

So if you think the Oscar nominees are excited, you should step into the shoes of their parents as this Portland, Maine news outlet discovered. Portland, Maine is the hometown of Anna Kendrick.

“Jan Kendrick decided to go in late Tuesday to her job as an accountant at Unum.

She stayed at home, sat on her couch and watched TV.

Then she screamed – as she watched the announcement of her daughter, Anna Kendrick, being nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.

Then she went to work.

“I walked into this meeting and someone said, ‘Jan, can you explain why you are so late?'” she said. “I told them, and everyone applauded.”

Anna Kendrick, 24, is a Portland native and a 2003 Deering High School graduate who has been acting on a national level since she was in middle school.

Still, her mother said it was somewhat stunning to hear that she had been nominated for an Academy Award, for her role opposite George Clooney in “Up In the Air.” The nominations were announced Tuesday on ABC.”

Kristen Stewart and Anna Kendrick Featured in Controversial Vanity Fair Issue

vanity-fair-kristenstewartannakendrick

Vanity Fair’s new cover features one of their regular pieces that they have been doing for a number of years: a piece on rising female talent in Young Hollywood. This year it has drawn fire because of it’s utter lack of diversity for the second year running.

No one is discounting the talent of the actresses involved in the cover or accusing them of anything inappropriate, but Hollywood insiders are wondering where other names are. Yahoo’s shine stated, “Every woman on its new cover is extremely thin and very, very white. Unless Vanity Fair considers one redhead to be diversity, we feel the need to cry foul.” EW has a pole asking which of the lot will be remembered in 10 years. Currently Anna and Kristen are doing very well in that pole.

So what do you think? Did vanity fair miss the mark? Will Anna and Kristen have substantial careers 10 years from now?

And The Winner Is Interviews Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick Premiere Up in the AirAnna Kendrick talks to the And The Winner Is blog about Twilight, her early career,, Up In the Air and where she sees herself in the future.

“At the moment, Kendrick is as much an “It” girl as anyone. She recently starred in Catherine Hardwicke’s “Twilight” and Chris Weitz’s “New Moon,” both among the biggest box-office hits of all-time; her next role will be in another likely blockbuster, Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”; and, in the meantime, she’s been tirelessly working the awards circuit for “Up in the Air” and garnering accolades from seemingly every group out there — she’s already snagged best supporting actress nominations from the HFPA, SAG, BAFTA, BFCA, and OFCS, as well as a best supporting actress title from the NBR. In all likelihood, a best supporting actress Oscar nod is just around the corner, which would would make her one of the category’s youngest nominees — and potentially its seventh youngest winner — in history.”

There are extensive audio interviews on all of those different areas. Via KStew411
