“My Soul” is The Host Inspired Original Song and Music Video

The official The Host Movie facebook page just featured this video.

The artist is from Australia. Her name is Czarina. According to her official website:

My Soul is the first single release from her new album with the same name. Written by Czarina, produced at Tender Trap Studios (Northcote, Melbourne) featuring Anita Quayle on cello, this beautiful ballad was inspired by Czarina’s favourite novel, The Host, by Stephenie Meyer. To celebrate the completion of the album and official video clip, there will be a launch party on Sunday March 25, 7.30pm at The Chandelier Room, Moorabbin, Melbourne where Czarina will showcase a set of original songs she has penned from all her albums. Her new album My Soul, is especially suited for background lounge music and has soundtrack potential.

Yes Virginia, We Do Like Things Other Than Twilight

USA Today is just the latest in many outlets hyping this bizarre Twilight vs. Hunger Games rivalry. I suppose we should be used to it by now because before this there was a press hyped Harry Potter vs Twilight war. No doubt the Hunger Games folks will have to live with whatever the next big YA thing is being compared to them–perhaps City of Bones.

According to USA Today:

“Everyone wanted to put (Hunger Games) into the Twilight box,” says Tim Palen, Lionsgate’s chief marketing officer. “It’s easy to put it in that box because of three young main leads (in both movies). But they’re completely different stories with different appeals.”

And they draw different, though powerful, demographics. Twi-hards tend to run younger than Hunger-lings, analysts and studio executives say. According to exit surveys by Lionsgate, 56% of Hunger Games’ moviegoers were 25 and older, about the opposite of Twilight’s film fan base.

The thing that is so funny to us in all of this is that EVERY and we do mean EVERY Hunger Games site that we know of is run by people who are also connected to Twilight sites! There’s not a war, at least we are pretty sure that those site ops don’t get up every morning with an inner turmoil of what they have to support today. (Also totally off topic but “Hunger-lings”? I’ve never hear that term before.)

What I think the media still doesn’t realize is that Twilight fans loves lots of different things. They live under the delusion that Twilight fans are only at the Twilight day at Comic Con. Just last summer I met up with my fellow Twilight fans at the Game of Throne, Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Doctor Who, The River, YA Authors panels just to name a few, and on two of those days I was wearing Browncoats gear!

Could There Be a Twilight Connection in Katy Perry’s New Movie?

MTV is reporting an interesting sighting of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in what seems to be a working capacity.

Holy smokes! On- and off-screen loves Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted in an L.A. back alley Monday night, puffing on a few cigarettes with friends. Par for the course, right? Well, reports indicate that the “Twilight” twosome were taking a break from…the set of Katy Perry’s upcoming movie “Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D”!

Since Katy Perry is not someone that Rob or Kristen is generally known to socialize with it would seem odd that the two of them would just show up on her set if it wasn’t something work related. So maybe there is some kind of Twilight spoof or homage in Katy Perry’s movie?

Designer Sandra Murphy to Supply Saoirse Ronan’s The Host Wardrobe

According to the Irish Film and Televison Network:

Irish designer Sandra Murphy has been chosen to supply the costumes for Saoirse Ronan’s upcoming alien film ‘The Host’. Murphy, originally from County Clare and now based in New York, sent around 40 pieces to the costume department.

Murphy was contacted in February from what she refers to as “Hollywood”, and admits she is “hugely proud just knowing that my designs were sought for consideration”.

According to Murphy’s website:

Coming from three generations of home sewers, Irish-born designer Sandra Murphy is a longtime lover of vintage fashion. Watching her Mother and Grandmother work patiently at their sewing machines, she always worshipped in the idea of wearing something she had created herself. Sandra brought the skills she learned from the home sewers in her family with her when she entered design school in Ireland. Upon completing her studies she moved to New York to pursue a career in the U.S. fashion capital. An avid vintage buyer, Sandra became increasingly concerned with compromises in current design and quality. She found herself worried about the future of vintage fashion, and where it will come from. After spending a decade designing for brands like Original Penguin, Gap and Victoria’s Secret, Sandra took her most important step in 2009, when she began working on her own clothing line. Recollection was born out of a need to bring specialness back into fashion and a hope that the pieces Sandra has designed will be vintage of the future.

Full Hi Def Version of the Breaking Dawn Teaser

Here it is!

The Breaking Dawn 2 Full Teaser What Did You Think

Granted it is just a teaser. It’s hard to really accomplish anything other than your branding and release date in under 30 seconds, but what did you think? Anyone else think the deer thing was a sort of homage to the beginning of the original Twilight movie? Plus is it just me or is the blue dress almost the exact same shade as Bella’s prom dress?

Also, since many of you saw the teaser last night at the Hunger Games, and from our experience most Twilight fans are in addition Hunger Games fans (or at the very least neutral to the idea of the series) what did you think of the movie? *Obviously spoilers in the comments, so don’t scroll down if you don’t want to know!*
