What Book Got You Hooked?

What Book Got You Hooked?”– a book lovers’ campaign from First Book that will bring thousands of new books to kids in need.

Now through September 15, readers everywhere are invited to share the first book that made reading fun for them and then help get more kids hooked by voting for the state to receive 50,000 new books for low-income youth.

This is a great organization stop by and let them know what book got you hooked on reading.

**Please be sure to stop by the First Book site and tell them the book that got you hooked on reading.

Humpty Dumpty Sat On A Wall

Well, fortunately for us, our fate is better than that of Humpty Dumpty. 24601 cut a family reunion on Cape Cod short to come back and fix what had been done.

For those of you just catching up here, the Lexicon was deliberately and maliciously hacked on Friday night, by people who didn’t like the posting policy on our forums. Stating that they were championing free speech by taking our site down they destroyed 99% of the blog and about 90% of the forums. Yes, our mind boggles too. Nonetheless, we are moving on. We could be angry and bitter, but that really wouldn’t solve anything. So, we are back. If this site is what you are looking for, fantastic. We are happy to provide something that works for you. If it’s not, no hard feelings. There are a ton of other Twilight sites out there. Check out Stephenie Meyer’s official site, there are at least 30 possibilities there and even more if you do a little exploring on Google.

Lastly, please bear with us was we get everything back in working order. We are probably going to be switching over to a new 3 column skin for the blog, so we aren’t putting too much into the design of this one since it’s a temp, but we really wanted to have something up rather than nothing. We are still working on resurrecting the forums, we hope to have them up in a secure fashion later this week. We have to make sure they are as hack proof as we can get them before we have to deal with this all over again.

If you are looking for the character bios, timeline, personal correspondences, etc. they are all back and not one word, typos and all have been changed. You can find them under the tab at the top above the picture labeled "The Lexicon". We’ve seen a lot of people saying "the Lexicon correspondence said…" and then we have been misquoted. You can see for yourself what is there, and if you don’t believe us check out Wayback Machine and  they will confirms it.

Last, but not least, thanks to the support we have received from hundreds of individual emails, and from other sites. A huge shout out to His Golden Eyes, BellaandEdward.net, Twilight Moms, Twilight Series Theories, Twilight Teez, and Twilighters. You guys rock! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Alphie and Pel

Stephenie Debuts the Breaking Dawn Playlist

The Breaking Dawn playlist is now published on Stephenie’s website. Be warned the the music titles could loosely spoil the sequence of events in the book, so click at your own risk if you haven’t finished the book.

Stephenie mentioned during the NYC Concert Tour that Blue October has an upcoming song that appears on the playlist. Click here for video coverage (Beware again the content of the song potentially spoils in Breaking Dawn). On a personal note, you could have heard a pin drop as soon as Justing started playing.

MTV coverage of Breaking Dawn Events in NYC

MTV has a few videos up of spotlighting the Breaking Dawn related events that took place in NYC.  There is footage of fans on the bus from the Nokia theatre to Borders, the first two fans to purchase Breaking Dawn, as well as the panelists from the TST podcast which includes our very own Be My Escape.

Reopening

Hello everyone!

After all the festivities of last night, I hope that many of you are well into Breaking Dawn or have finished it!  Personally, I have finished it and found myself totally entertained in the process of reading.  I can’t wait to discuss it with everyone.  That being said, due to travel arrangements, family commitments, work schedules, and the desperate need to make sure that all the staff here at the Lexicon have actually finished the book and have had time to digest the over-whelming amount of information contained in those 754 pages, Pel and I have decide not to open the forums up for posting until sometime on Monday, Aug. 4.

At that time, we will have a full forum of Breaking Dawn topics that should be considered spoilers to anyone who hasn’t finished the book.   All discussion pertaining to Breaking Dawn will be kept in that forum for at least a month to avoid the spread of spoilers to those who haven’t had a chance to get the book yet.  Along those same lines, we ask that no one change their banner, siggie, or avi to anything containing a spoiler for Breaking Dawn until Sept. 1 to ensure that everyone has time to read the book.

We will continue to bring you updates over the next few days.  Happy reading!!

Alphie
