Sydney Australia E-Prom

Member Alexia just sent this to me.

Sydney E-Prom!!
Where: Kinokuniya Bookstore
Address:
Books Kinokuniya
L2 Galeries Victoria
500 George St
Sydney NSW 2000
[PH: 02 9262 7996]
When: Saturday, 5th May. The reading starts at 12 p.m. so I would suggest being there at about 11:45. (by ‘the reading’ I of course mean the first chapter of Eclipse!!)

We will have the reading as the first thing [at 12] and then we have a couple of quizzes and then a game, so the whole thing would run for about an hour and a half. It will be in the YA/ Kids section of the store (near the window seats) and I suggest bring a pen or a pencil for the quizzes!!  Dressing-up option is open, so feel free to dress up as you please!

The Sydney e-prom is more of a party/get together than anything; so that is why the dressing-up option is open [dress up if you want, but it not compulsory]. There is no compulsory registration and of course there will be a lot of photos!! And bring as many friends with you as possible!
Hope to see everyone there!!

Proms and the first chapter of Eclipse

I have had SO many PMs and e-mails asking about hosting a prom event.  Here is the thing folks, if you want to host a prom, DO IT!  You could always ask a bookstore to lend you space with the promise that they will sell books.  Tell them they could sell the New Moon special edition as well as Prom Nights from Hell which Stephenie was a part of.  And they CERTAINLY should presell Eclipse.  If you can’t get a book store, ask the library if you can use a room – or have it in your basement.  ANYTHING to get together.  Then once you have something organized, let me know so I can promote it for you.  I am more than happy to post details on your prom here on the front page of the lexicon where every fan can see it!  Just make sure you send me all the pertanent information.

The next subject I need to clear up is about the first chapter of Eclipse.  Yes, some bookstores have it.  Yes, some of you have read it.  NO!  YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO POST ABOUT IT ON THE LEXICON.  Not until May 5th when we are certain everyone has it.  If you want to talk about it, do it in PMs and e-mail.  And under NO circumstance are you allowed to post any part of it anywhere on the internet.  Don’t even e-mail it to someone.  That is a serious violation of copyright law and you could be sued by Little Brown if they find out.  May 5th is not that far away.  We can wait to talk about it after prom!

Questions for fans in England –

Imogen is curious to know if any fans in England would be interetsed in getting together for a "Prom" event in the York area?  She is willing to contact a few bookstores to set somehing up so long as there is interest.  If you live in England and could get to the York area on Saturday afternoon, let us know.  We can’t give you a certain time yet as she hasn’t spoken to a book store to set it up.  Tell us what time would be good for you and we can work from there.

Thanks!

Nashville Prom Update

I just got off the phone with Davis-Kidd book store about the details for the Prom.  Tickets go on sale TOMORROW at 9 am and are $5 a piece.  There are only 50 tickets, so I’m guessing this will sell out faster than you can say "Eclipse!"  Their phone number is 615 – 385 – 2645.

If you were at the event last November, the Prom will be held in the same room as the I Love Edward Cullen party was held.  The event starts at 4:30 pm.  They ask for formal dresses, old Prom dresses, and all that get up that is being requested for the Prom in Phoenix.  There will be a fashion show as well as some great photo ops, so be sure to look your best.  They will also have a dance lesson, a trivia contest, and of course the first chapter of Eclipse will be read out loud.  (I’ll give you two guesses who gets to read it and the first guess doesn’t count!)

I look forward to seeing you all there!

Nashville Prom

I just got an e-mail from Stephenie that briefly mentioned that the Davis Kidd bookstore here in Nashville will be holding a satalite prom!!  I don’t have all the details yet.  The lady in charge is supposed to e-mail me tomorrow, but I wanted to get the word out NOW.  All I know is that it is a ticketed event and that the tickets will go on sale Wednesday.  It’s held on the same date, May 5, as all the other Proms.  The first chapter of the book will be read at the event as well as other games and such.  It starts at 4:30 pm and will go for about an hour and a half.  Their phone number is 385 – 2645.

I’m going!  Who’s with me?  I imagine that any lexiconers will head over for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory or some other location after the Prom.

I’m editing this to make it clear to everyone that Stephenie will not be at the Nashville Prom.  She will only be at the one in Phoenix.  However, I will be at the Nashville Prom!  And so will Silly Bella, bronzehairedgirl, and Be My Escape.  At least, that’s what they told me!  LOL!

And I’m editing this one more time to make the comment Stephenie left below visible to everyone!  This is direct from Stephenie to all of us, her fans!

"I want to encourage people (whether they be in New Jersey, Michigan, Hawaii, Canada, Malaysia, etc.) to have their own Satellite Eclipse Proms on May 5th. Either go to a friendly bookstore and see if they are willing to host, talk to your favorite YA librarian, or have a mini-prom with your five best Twilight friends in your living room. Dress up in your mom’s old formals and then take pictures of the group–I’ll set up an email for the pictures, and put some of them on my site (I’d say ALL, but I don’t think I have that kind of bandwidth). The New Moon Special Edition will be out in time for you to read that first chapter of Eclipse at your satellite party. Have Twilight cookies and muffins and watch movies with your favorite Twilight casting choices or color pictures of Edward and send them to Pel’s fanart site. Have fun with it. We may not be able to all have prom together physically, but we can be proming together in spirit, ha ha."

Chapter update

I’ve added Chapter Five: Cheater to the discussion area.  Hop over to the message boards to participate in the conversation about that.  Many thanks to Seraphyn for helping us out on this one.  I also added a bio for Embry Call

In other news, the folks over at Twilight Teez would like to make all of you that are going to E-Prom aware that there will be official E-Prom t-shirts for sale at the event.  These shirts will only be avaliable at the E-Prom and not on their website.  They also have a new Alice t-shirt design for all the Alice fans out there that can be for ladies AND gents!  Cool stuff!

Alphie

Just adding that The Official E-Prom tee shirts offered by Twilight Teez are going to be cash only, and they are only available at E-Prom the day of E-Prom. So don’t forget to bring money to prom. Their other merchandise, is readily  available for order online and you can use a credit card.

Call, Embry

Wolfpack Tattoo

Full Name: Embry Call

Status: Quileute Werewolf / Shape shifter

Date of Birth: 1990

Originally from: born on the La Push Reservation, mother from Makah Reservation

Hair color: Black (NM6)

Eye color: Brown (NM6)

Height: 6’3” ish (NM5)

Physical description: When Bella first saw Embrey, she described him as “slender, and almost as tall as Jacob. His black hair was chin-length and parted down the middle…” (NM6 p. 138) In wolf form, Embry was “the thinner gray wolf with the dark spots on his back, who sat so patiently watching” (EC19 p. 429)

Occupation: Protector of La Push

Family members: Mother, potential half-brother with Quil, Jacob, or Sam

Nick Names:

Hobbies: Riding and fixing up dirt bikes (NM5 p. 134)

Personal history: Embry, along with Quil, was Jacob Black’s best friend. Embry was supposedly named after a soap opera star, but he didn’t tolerate anyone teasing him about the origins of his name. (NM6 p. 138) Embry’s parentage was a bit of a mystery. His mother came from the Makah reservation while pregnant with him – but only Quileute natives shape shifted, so Embry’s father had to be one of the Quileute elders. Embry might be half-brothers with Quil, Jacob, or Sam (EC19 p. 418). When Embry first met Bella in Jacob’s shed, he was shy but became animated when discussing the motorcycle repairs and hooted at Jake’s next “date” with Bella (NM6 p. 139).

Sometime later, Embry went though the change and became a werewolf. His change happened before Jacob’s, and since he couldn’t tell Jacob what was happening to him, he started avoiding his former best friend. Embry started hanging around Sam, which unnerved Jacob because the two of them weren’t friendly prior to Embry’s missed week of school. (NM7 p 177) Embry’s mother had no idea her son was a werewolf and she grounded him for sneaking out of the house at night, unaware that he was simply doing werewolf patrol duty. (BD8 p. 147) Once Jacob changed, Jacob and Embry returned to being friends. (NM12 p. 288)  In fact, Embry served as a type of “wingman” for Jacob along with Quil. (EC19)

When Jacob took on the roll of Alpha after Sam ordered the pack to kill Bella and her unborn child, Embry was not allowed to see Jacob for fear that he would join his pack. (BD13 p. 265)  Embry hadn’t imprinted on anyone in La Push the way Quil had, leaving him with no real ties to the area.  However, once Nessie was born and the threat of a war between the wolves and the Cullens was put to rest, Embry joined Jacob’s pack.  (BD27 p. 526)
