Edward Vs. Jacob—-Campaign 2008

Novel Novice is wrapping up their voter awareness project.

Election Day is here!

Once again, we here at Novel Novice Twilight would like to ask the rest of the Twilight community to remind registered U.S. voters to cast their ballots by tomorrow in the U.S. Nat’l election.

As a Twilight site focused on education, we’ve compiled information about the U.S. electoral system and the major candidates in the race for president, which can be found here:
http://twilightnovelnovice.com/2008/11/03/election-day-news/

To continue our educational look at elections – and to have a bit of fun with elections – we are also running our Team Edward vs. Team Jacob political campaign.

Launched earlier this year, the campaign has been a way for Team Edward and Team Jacob fans to show their pride and support their “candidate” in words, artwork and video. Now the time has come to decide.

Who will you choose – Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Starting tomorrow, the polls will be open for Twilighters to cast their vote for either Team Edward or Team Jacob. The voting will be open through Friday. All the details (including mock political ads created by the NNT staff!) can be found here:
http://twilightnovelnovice.com/contests-projects/novelnoviceprojects/team-edward-v-team-jacob/

Thanks again for your support of Novel Novice Twilight – and for reminding people to vote!

 (Novel Novice Twilight is a non-partisan site, with no political agenda. We don’t care who you vote for – just as long as you do vote!) Their site ( as is ours ) is non-partisan. If you are old enough to vote take advantage of that opportunity!

Site Update!

Don’t fall out of your chair!  It’s true!  We have actually updated the website!

Eclipse Chapter 26 – Ethics summary and discussion questions can be found here.

Eclipse Chapter 27 – Needs summary and discussion questions can be found here.  Thanks to December for her work on both 26 and 27

And the Epilogue – Choice summary and discussion questions can be found here.

We hope to start the Breaking Dawn discussion this week as well as have the new time line finished.  Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Twilight Halloween Maddness

Wow, people went all out this year on Twilight themes. We had so many people send in items (and TY to everyone who did), we’re putting up the most unique, original, or the best movie/book likenesses:

Books

Book Based Characters: Alice, Bella, Volturi

Movie Based Characters

The Werewolves Were At The Game

Edward’s Car

In the Press

The New York Times has a movie write up and for once the comparison isn’t to Harry Potter. This time it’s to Titanic, which we’ve been saying is a better comparison based on the likelihood of fans to see the movie multiple times. After that, check out Catherine Hardwicke’s favorite holiday movie experience.

The Box Office Prophets make their Twilight predictions.

According to the Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch, 51% of fandango ticket sales are for Twilight.  According to a Fandango survey:

"

According to a current Fandango survey of more than 5,000 moviegoers, excitement is running high:

— 92% of respondents say they’ll see "Twilight" on opening weekend;
— 85% say they plan to see the film more than once;
— 56% are planning to see the movie with a group of friends;
— 97% have read the novel by Stephenie Meyer;
— 86% would be interested in visiting the locations where the movie was
filmed;
— 95% of the respondents to the survey are female;
— 42% of respondents are 25 or older; 58% are younger than 25.
