Planet Hollywood, A Fan’s Perspective

Lexiconer, Miriam, was among those at Planet Hollywood when he made his appearance the other day. This is her insider’s report. TY Miriam!

My day at Planet Hollywood was amazing, I would have not changed anything about it. I arrived at PH around 9:45 am and there were a few girls there already. The store was still closed when we got there. We made friends right away and were very exited because we knew that we were the first ones there. I’m 25 and married, so I automatically felt out of place but we were all there for the same reason so that did not matter. At about 11 o’clock they gave us our wrist bands and asked us to come back. They only gave 50 away so a lot of girls did not get in. We decided to go to McDonald’s, and stay there until it was time to come back. We did two signs that said Team Edward and the other Hi Robert. We finally came back at 3:30 where only people with wrist bands were allowed in. We were lucky because a lot of girls were left outside. Once inside we were lined up in front of the little stage they had set up. We thought we were going to see him clearly, but the photographers started to arrive and stood right in front of us. They were on a platform that made them high. It was like a human wall in front of us. It was totally unfair. We could not see through them. We asked if after they took their pictures they were going to let us see him but they said that they didn’t know. We were so angry.

The anger went away as soon as they put the soundtrack, I love Decode so as soon as I heard it I started singing my lungs out. After a few songs I was desperate, we all were. And then they put the trailer, that’s when we all started screaming with excitement. We couldn’t wait any longer. After the trailer finished, the lady from Z100 asked Robert to come out. As soon as I heard her say his name I got myself on top of the photographer’s platform. I found a spot right in front of Robert, I was so happy, I started taking pictures and looking at him pose. He was awesome. His blue eyes were dazzling. He was shy and intimidated because we were all screaming. She asked him a few questions I can’t remember. I was so concentrated in taking pictures and looking at him with my own eyes, it was amazing. It was so worth calling out of work. After he imprinted his hands and signed his name he posed again holding the cement and then he said bye and left. We were all screaming, some girls wanted him to take off his hat, but he never did. I didn’t care, hat or no hat, he was right in front of me and I saw him with my own eyes. This was an unforgettable experience. And I would encourage everyone out there to seek experiences like this one. They might only happen once in your lifetime.
