Twilight Billboard Spotted

Our eagle-eyed friends over at Twilighters Anonymous spotted a Twilight Billboard in Santa Clarita, California.  Anyone wondering if it’s causing a traffic back-up?

Fans Rally for Blood Drives

A variety of Twilight sites such as His Golden Eyes and their Carlisle Would Approve (CWA) project sponsor events to encourage blood donation.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has an article on the efforts of one local fan. So if you live in the area, consider driving by and donating to a good cause.  Blood donation is especially critical during the holiday season.

Here are some interesting facts about blood donation (source The Mayo Clinic)

  • Only 5 percent of eligible donors across the nation donate blood, but the number of transfusions nationwide increases by 9 percent every year.
  • Blood donors can donate as frequently as every 56 days. A benefit from donating this often is that you receive a mini-physical once every two months.
  • Each whole blood donation can help as many as three people. One unit is divided into three parts: red blood cells, platelets, and plasma.
  • Whole blood donation only takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Blood cannot be manufactured. It can only come as a gift from people.
  • The need for blood increases during holidays and summer months. People are more apt to be traveling and active during these times and thus are at an increased risk for accidents.
  • Statistics show that 25 percent or more of us will require blood at least once in our lifetime.
  • You burn about 650 calories by donating one pint of blood.

Rob At Planet Hollywood

Just Jared has early coverage of Rob Pattinson’s appearance at Planet Hollywood last night. We’ll edit this entry as more comes in.

Borders Twilight Plans Get Noticed

Borders efforts on behalf of Twilight ( asking fans what they were looking for in release parties, hosting podcasts, having the merchandise fans want, and having pre movie parties) is starting to pay off according to the Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch. On a side note, we think their vampire elf, given the Twilight, True Blood, PC Cast…vampire craze is hilarious.

Movie News

E! online asks if you are ready for Twilight?  We’re assuming the question is rhetorical.

In today’s LA Times Twilight Countdown, they talk to Catherine Hardwicke about the meadow.

USA Today will be interviewing Rob and Kristen and they want your questions.

Hot Topic has a new feature called Shock Hound where you can get music including the newly released Twilight soundtrack.

Popstar has a poll asking which star you would most like to have lunch with and for some reason Rob is running at only 7%.  Surely Twilight fans can correct this travesty :p

Rob and Catherine Hit NYC

So Rob and Catherine are doing the whole NYC media blitz thing.

Yesterday Rob gave his interview to the Twilight fansites just before making an appearance with Catherine Hardwicke at the Apple Store in SoHo.  Just Jared had photos. USA Today also covered the event. Vanity Fair has the video (TY to Bella and Edward), and now EW has added their coverage, but if you really want to know what it was like, you need to go to the average obsessed fan.

Now, today, Rob started bright and early with a call in to Z-100 radio and a chat with Elvis Duran and crew. Right now he’s at Planet Hollywood doing a memorabilia presentation.

Moving on to Thursday, Rob will be doing TRL…and in between all of this we hope Rob is getting some sleep.
