It looks like the national touring company of Legally Blonde has Team Edward and Team Jacob fans. The Twilight stuff pops around the 1:05 mark or so and keeps going sporadically from there. TY to Pam
MTV Announces Twicon Guest Reporter
Mike Welch in ACZone
So, even with the press release we aren’t quite sure we understand this whole thing, but here goes:
Near as we can figure it’s the acne product ACZone putting on a web musical starring Mike Welch and others that is a send up of HS Musical, Spring Awakening, etc. Read the press release yourself, maybe you can figure it out better than we can.
Anyway, check out the videos here. Mike appears in the main segment and in the “news flash” section that appears to the left. He sort of does the Twilight dance in the first video.
Twilight Goes Manga
The Entertainment Weekly got the exclusive on the new Twilight Saga Manga (we’ve been asked not to embed their exclusive photo so we are compiling.)
EW.com has exclusive sketches online and this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly (which is the annual Comic-Con preview issue) has the finished illustrations of Edward, Bella, and Jacob. The sketches don’t look simply like an artist’s rendering of Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson, but are true to the novel’s descriptions. Yen Press, a division of Hachette Book Group (the parent company of Little Brown that publishes The Twilight Saga), is publishing this venture.
“For those of you who can’t get enough Edward and Bella, EW can announce — exclusively — that Yen Press will be publishing Twilight in graphic-novel form. Though Korean artist Young Kim is creating the art, Meyer herself is deeply immersed in the project, reviewing every panel.”
The Lexicon asked a spokesperson for Stephenie Meyer when the novel would be release and we were told the following: “A publication date for Twilight: The Graphic Novel will be forthcoming.” So hang on, as soon as we know, you’ll know!
Get the full details of the Twilight Manga on EW. So, how about it Manga fans, how many of you are interested in this, or for that matter, Manga newbies, are you interested?
Muse and Brand Headed Towards MTV Awards
According to MTV:
“On September 13, the MTV Video Music Awards will return home to New York City, taking over spots all around the Big Apple, including the iconic Radio City Music Hall. Outrageous Brit Russell Brand will once again be serving as the emcee, and the show will feature high-powered performances from the likes of Taylor Swift and Muse.”
Muse has long been the band that has dominated Stephenie Meyer’s unofficial playlists. In fact, in Breaking Dawn, she thanked Muse for being her muse.
The question is, given what happened the last time Russell Brand hosted a show for MTV, are fans going to tune in to watch? You need a score card to keep track of the people Brand POed last time from the Jonas Brothers, Jordan Sparks, Twilight fans, etc. The LA times possibly said it best, “The 2008 VMAs were poised to mark the return of Britney Spears. Instead, they will go down in history as the night when that English guy from Forgetting Sarah Marshall almost made the Jonas Brothers cry.”

Edward Was Once A Hufflepuff: AKA Why Choose

We are sure that the Harry Potter fansites are just about as sick of the Twilight vs. Harry Potter comparisons as we are. They are two great books series, and near as we can figure the only comparisons are this:
- *Debut novels by previously unpublished women authors become wild, runaway, sales hits
- *People of all generations read the books, not just teens and tweens
- *Both allow people to lose themselves in the adventure
- *Remus Lupin and Jacob Black are two of the sexiest werewolves ever ( Have we mentioned that Alphie and Pel first met over Remus Lupin obsession?)
So let’s hear it for two great books that have great movie series. We’ll be seeing Potter this week. Novel Novice even has created some wallpapers and whatnot to celebrate. Check them out.

If you are under 18, please ask your parents’ permission before submitting as they do ask for a photograph as well.
Cliff Diving: Don’t Try This At Home, Kids
We feel really, really stupid saying this, but for the love of Pete, don’t try cliff diving at La Push, or for that matter don’t try to attempt to get to the islands off-shore where there are cliffs. Jacob and pack are not on hand to save you when it goes bad. For everyone’s sake let’s respect the Quileute lands and use basic common sense. We don’t think there is any kind of mass psychosis that is causing hoards of Twilight fans to lose perspective, but please be aware that the waters off La Push are incredibly rough and unpredictable. check the picture to the left and you can see the waves and current.
Apparently the following occurred at La Push:
“There was a full scale US Coast Guard rescue operation conducted in La Push, WA on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 in La Push, WA. A Twilight fan visiting Quileute from Georgia was rescued from an Island they surmised could be the location where the main character Bella Swan goes cliff diving in the 2nd book of the Twilight Saga New Moon.
Chairwoman Carol Hatch released the following statement following the incident.
The Quileute Nation has been very welcoming of all visitors to La Push, but does not condone behavior that could result in bodily harm to anyone visiting this beautiful land. We understand the eagerness of fans to seek out every detail that is part of the story, but please remember this is a work of fiction.
The Quileute Tribe appreciates the professional service of the Coast Guard.”
This was one lucky fan. Thanks God there is a US Coast Guard Station right there, but let’s not field test their rescue skills unnecessarily!
EDITED: It was apparently a 22-year-old man from Georgia. Not that guys aren’t Twilight fans, but is this striking anyone else as odd? We are starting to wonder if there is much more here than meets the eye.
