Taylor Lautner’s Superbowl Weekend

Taylor-and-Rob-LoweTaylor Lautner is having one action packed weekend. First he was in Direct TV’s Celebrity Beach Bowl with Twilight co-star Kellan Lutz and countless other celebrities. Then he’s hanging around to see the Superbowl because the Colts are in the game. Being a Michigan native, Taylor is rooting for the Colts, and of all people he seems to have bonded with Rob Lowe over the Colts love!

According to E! Rob Lowe stated:

“Taylor’s another Colts fan and he’s such a great guy,” Rob said when I caught up with him at the Audi penthouse party at the W. “He and I are here for the Super Bowl as well, and I brought my boys with me, so we just have a boys club, who’s been traveling around on this amazing Colts run.”

But Rob says he left his wife home, who’s a huge Twi-hard…

“My wife is the Twilight freak in the house and she loves it,” he said. “She’s really funny. I keep giving her reports on where we’re going, what we’re doing.”

Kristen Stewart to Host Haiti Help Dinner

Kristen is not the only twilight star with Haiti outreach in the works. As we said when the tragedy first struck “Haiti needs help now, but more importantly they are going to need it months from now when people don’t remember it as well.”

The Lexicon has several items that we intended for a Haiti relief auction that we wanted to put up in time for Valentine’s Day. We still fully intend to auction the items, but we just had an unexpected offer to make our items part of a bigger and more organized outreach being run by a major name in Twilight, and we jumped at it.  Hopefully we’ll have complete details next week, and Twilighters will have a chance to help Haiti and get some really cool merch. That’s a win-win as far as we are concerned.

Taylor Lautner Cast As Stretch Armstrong

taylor_rainNikki Finke of Deadline Hollywood broke the news that Taylor Lautner has booked another project. So not only does Taylor have Breaking Dawn, Max Steele, and an unnamed project to be shot in Cancun; he now can add Stretch Armstrong to the list.

According to Nikkie Finke, Donna Langley (co-chair at Universal) stated “In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power,” said Langley. “We couldn’t be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch.”

Taylor will be 20-years-old by the time the movie shoots in March 2012.

Jury Duty Photo Causes Issue

KstewcourtTwo security guards in the LA County Court are in hot water over photos they had taken with Kristen Stewart when she was there recently reporting for jury duty.

According to E! “:

[Kristen] appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week to serve jury duty. Apparently, one of the security guards was a Twi-hard and asked K.Stew to pose for a quick camera-phone photo. Obviously, she was in the giving mood, she obliged.

However, it appears that perhaps K.Stew shouldn’t have been so generous. The guard’s pal (who was also there) then allowed his wife to post the picture on the Internet…and now the two men could lose their jobs because of it.”

It seem that there is a rule regarding anonymity in the jury pool that was violated. This all came to light when the photos appeared on the blog of one of the security guard’s wives and from there the photos went viral.

Valentine’s Day: Does It Have The Appeal?

Taylor Lautner’s Valentine’s Day is about to open just in time for…you guessed it…Valentine’s Day. The movie is directed by legendary romantic comedy master, Gary Marshall. Judging from the promos it seems to be shooting for a Love Actually feel only with an American cast.

The movie Love Actually, directed and written by Richard Curtis of Four Weddings a a Funeral fame, took some of the biggest names in British TV and cinema (Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Alan Rickman, Liam Neeson, and Hugh Grant to name a few) and threw them into interweaving stories on love at Christmastime. The result was a feel good movie with a star power ensemble cast. The stars came out because Richard Curtis was very popular with the UK acting community.

It looks like Valentine’s Day is working off the same type of formula, and with big-name, award winning actors (some of whose careers Gary Marshall helped to launch to A-list level). The Oscar and Emmy power here is rather stunning:

Kathy Bates: 3 time Oscar nominee/winner
Patrick Dempsy: Emmy winner
Hector Elinzado: 5 time Emmy nominee, and winner
Jennifer Garner: 4 time Emmy nominee
Anne Hathaway: Oscar nominee

Julia Roberts: 3 time Oscar nominee/winner and Emmy nominee

This doesn’t count talented fan-favorites, but not current award winners like Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba, and Bradley Cooper.

Predictably, Jessica Alba in talking to MTV,  is a fan of her co-stars Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift.

Alex Meraz doesn’t seem to feel that way (and his choice of words caused quite the media firestorm yesterday).

What vibe do you get sight unseen: feel good hit, money grubbing flop, or something in between?
