Premiere Widget Goes Live

The widget ( I can’t embed it or it totally kills our server) has already gone live. So far it’s just fan shots and it’s choppy, so who know what will happen in a couple of hours.  I’m not optimistic that their bandwith will hold.

Jen and Kaleb are together on the carpet and they called me. Jen had to repeat herself like three times because the screaming was intense, and pretty much they are screaming at nothing! I am seriously afraid for their eardrums once Rob hits the red carpet. Sound waves can’t cause earthquakes can they?

Anyway footage will be up ASAP on Kaleb’s and the Lexicon’s YouTube Channels. Also Kaleb will be updating via his MySpace due to a problem with his server company that he obviously can’t solve right now because he’s a little busy.

EDITED: Here’s to hoping ET’s widget that finally went live 45 minutes late is better. (20081117_2045)

So While We’re Waiting

It sort of feels anti-climatic to post anything before the premiere coverage begins later tonight.

Our inbox is at an all time high with every media outlet on the planet hopping on the Twilight bandwagon, and I’ve got the news alerts from New Delhi to prove it!  Anyway a lot of it is stuff we’ve heard a million times before. So after wading around, here’s what’s new, or newish:

Bella and Edward.com have video and photos from yesterday’s podcast sponsored by Twilight Live.

The Movie Fanatic has an article on Rob’s fans and how much is too much. Their Twilight blog-a-thon also continues.

The LA Times goes in depth to reveal how in their opinion the big Hollywood studios blew  their chance when it came to Twilight.  They also have an exclusive with Stephenie.

MTV has Edi Gathegi go in depth on Laurent.

Reelz Channel has an interview with Rob.

Premiere Day!!!!

OK here is your premiere update directly from LA.  I just went to drive by the theater so that when I have to arrive for press coverage I can be prepared.  The scene is crazy.  The four blocks around the 2 theaters, where the premiere will be held, are over flowing with people.  Literally there are lines around all 4 of them with hundreds maybe thousands in each.  Fans of all ages and even guys have lined up to try to gain entry into the fan watch area.  Below are some pictures of them setting up the red carpet and the fans waiting.

I will be heading out shortly to get my place on the carpet and hopefully a few interviews.  Yesterdays podcast was amazing!!!!  The actors were incredibly nice and Peter, even though he had to leave, went down the signing line to make sure everyone got an autograph that was supposed to.  That footage should be up soon.

More to come from premiere day later!!!

Twilight Movie Premiere Day Coverage

We will be editing this page throughout the day as various premiere event coverage comes in.

Want to watch the red carpet action but you’re not in LA?  Follow this link for a live feed (boy do we hope they have a great server). Their coverage is slated to launch at 6:30pm Pacific Time.

Premiere News…So Where Do I Go?

I’m making this its own post so people can find it easily. It contains all the info we have from Summit quoted word-for-word from their email about fans being near the red carpet. We have no further info, and as you can imagine Summit staff is pretty busy right now, so if you have a question it’s probably not going to get answered.

This is what Summit emailed to us about fans watching the arrivals:

Just a few updates for your readers! There is a lot of TWILIGHT coverage this week, but lets start off with the biggest of them all…the TWILIGHT Premiere! We will be handing out wristbands that get fans into the fanwatch area for the premiere on Monday, 11.17.  It will begin at 12pm PT near the Village and Bruin theater at 961 Broxton Ave.

Also, look for the following coverage of TWILIGHT this weekend!

Evening News

The New York Times has what’s probably the best summary of the Rob Hot Topic Tour.

The LA Times continues their ongoing Twilight series.

Twilight News The UK based Twilight News site is giving away tickets to the London premiere of Twilight. Check out their site for details.

Norwegian Twilighters have been working on getting their movie premiere moved up. according Ragnhild, who has been helping to coordinate the efforts,

"The Twilight movie is coming out in February. I’m sure you can all understand how disappointed we were when we realized that we had to wait for 4 (!) whole months to see the movie. Our neighbour-country, Sweden, gets the movie the same date as you guys in USA, so we wondered why there were so big differences. Anyway, we sent tons of e-mails to our distributor, and they responded with saying that if we got enough people signing a petition, they would consider moving the date from February the 6th to January the 19th."

So help them out folks, the petition info is here (yes we realize that it is in Norwegian).

They are still doing the edit and upload of the Twilight Live podcast which had a bunch of addtional actors drop by. Aside from the previously announced Peter Facinelli, Mike Welch, and Jackson Rathbone, Christian Serratos, and Solomon Trimble were there.

500 fans attended the event that was chiefly moderated by Kallie and Andrew of the Twilight Series Theories and Imprint podcasts.

PREMIERE NEWS  Tomorrow is the premiere with a red carpet that is practically two blocks long. Be My Escape (Jen) will be there with Kaleb Nation, the Twilight Guy. Kaleb’s site is down at the moment (Kaleb knows) but he will be posting to his MySpace until he can get the situation fixed. He’s a little busy right now as you can imagine.

According to Be My Escape there are already fans lining up and camping out by the Mann Theaters in Westwood located at 961 and 948 Broxton Ave. in the hopes that they will get a good view of arrivals and maybe score some autographs.

LA Update

Early reports are in from Jen (Be My Escape). She’ll post details as the extended Twilight premiere weekend goes on. Just a few tidbits:

  • People were lined up outside the Borders where Twilight Live was happening the night before.
  • Early reports have people filing in without a hitch, no mad rush for the doors or anything like that.
  • Other Twilight site ops who she’s now met face-to-face are super nice.
  • Mike Welch was awesome in his play, Speech and Debate, Jen had tickets. Mike is also every bit as cool in person as he seems in his blogs and interviews.
  • LA is hot (can you tell Jen is from New England), the fires don’t seem to be affecting the area they are in, but as you travel around LA you can smell the smoke.
  • She’ll post the link to the podcast after it’s uploaded as well as some behind the scenes video footage.

Movie News

The USA Weekend story is online in case you didn’t get it  with your regular Sunday paper. USA Weekend is also asking readers to check back on Monday the 17th for info on how to get a copy of their Twilight poster that came with the issue.

Find out how Forks and Port Angeles will be celebrating the release of Twilight.

Edi Gathegi and Kellan Lutz will be in Massachusetts at a New England Fan Experience sponsored event for the Twilight release.

Collider Posts Cullen Family Interview

Last week Steve over on Collider was the first to give you audio and transcripts of the press conference with Stephenie, Catherine, Rob, and Kristen.

Well, Steve (AKA Frosty) is back. This time he has the transcript and audio of a chat with the Cullen family including the notorious hard to get an interview (not their fault shooting schedules) with Liz Reaser and Jackson Rathbone.

Movie News

In our never ending quest of trying to provide you with the most unique Twilight movie news ( because really who wants to hear one more time Rob being asked if he knew what he was getting himself into, or Stephenie one  more time with feeling talking about the chapter 13 dream…you get the idea) here is our latest.

The Twilight cast visited Canada’s Much Music and was treated to this baseball clip. TY Summer  And in case anyone thinks only Americans line up, Canadians do too, and it’s a lot colder in Canada.

Rob and Kristen interview Stephenie over on moviefone about movie music, upcoming projects, and more ( the black and white outtake at the end is hilarious).

The LA Times covers how much Twilight has meant to the economic recovery of Forks in tough times.  They also talked to Melissa Rosenberg about all four books and if she’d be interested in adapting all four.

Spout has a Vampire cagematch. GO VOTE FOR EDWARD!
