I like the teaser, although the use of stock footage felt a bit odd. It also seemed as if the music was right off the TRON: LEGACY soundtrack. (Though I liked it!)
Still, I really liked the voice over and the way they’ve framed it. It’s definitely a good “tease” — and as a fan of the book itself, I’m curious to see how this does on the big screen!
A good tease….I like the way the sun and earth fizzle out to form the eye like the cover of the book. I liked the voice over too! The effect on her eyes are very well done indeed!
I want more…the tease was not enough. I hope the trailer in front of The Hunger Games is 2+ minutes long. (: I want to know if we’re in for a good rendering of this book or not…
The opening voiceover was great. I love the eyes. The stock footage of all the other people killed it for me. At that point, it felt like a trailer was “thrown” together just to have something to show us. I would have rather had a 10 second teaser with actual clips from the movie (like BD pt. 2) than stock footage.
Nonetheless, I am real excited about the movie coming out. I LOVED the book, and can see it making a great movie.
I love it! They really captured the essence and intrigue at the beginning of the Host and draws you in. The effect with the eyes was AMAZING! The pictures of all the varying people from around the world with their eyes showing they’ve been taken by the Souls was very good. It emphasizes what the “narrator” was saying and a “picture is worth a thousand words.” Creepy!
not sure what i think of this to be honest…. im going to hold judgement till ive seen a proper trailer not a teaser. Looking forward to watching and comparing to book though
I’m very excited for the film. Yet I think this was almost as much a trailer for the book(s) as it is for the movie. Which is good and bad.
The stock images of people are problematic, mostly because they’re just stills — if it had been film of each of them, that would have been epic.
And the eyes were cool, but they weren’t, like, reflecting the light (like a cats at night), they were more just filling in the iris on top, rather than reflecting light from *within* the eye. I’m having flashbacks of Edward’s chest in the first film — close, and understandable why they did it that way… but just not quite what I was hoping for (or what seems to be described in the book?).
For me though, the big problem is that they referenced a facebook page instead of a real web site.
So not only is it, perhaps, the least expensive movie trailer ever, but they couldn’t even afford a real web site? That starts to look just… kind of… sad.
I liked it. I liked the “stock footage” photos. Made me feel like they’ve had the earth for a while and are just living life like we did and have all these ad photos with their hosted people now…
I wasn’t a huge fan of the book, though I liked it. I’m really interested in the film though!
I liked the teaser and I think that it would have had a much larger impact had they not used the “stock” images. They sort of clash with the forbidding atmosphere that Wonda’s VO (voice over) is alluding to.
1 year left! I Can’t wait!

I like Saoirse Ronan, but I really can’t see her as Melanie.

The photos of the people aren’t stock photos, though, right? Aren’t they the contest winners?
In general, the teaser’s great! I love the voiceover and can’t wait for a full trailer!

I think the pictures at the end were kind of cheesy, but other then that I can’t wait
