Twilight Saga Still Cyber Scam Bait For the Unsuspecting

It seems that Twilight and promises of free downloads are ripe for getting a virus or worse.

“‘Twilight’ brings out cyber bloodsuckers

As with “Harry Potter,” cybercriminals were ready to feast on the popularity generated by the “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”

Leading up to its June 30 release, several malicious campaigns made their way around the Web preying on the widespread anticipation of the film. The antivirus maker Norton reported that more than 50 percent of the Web pages yielded by searching movie-related search terms – such as “Twilight,” Twilight Eclipse,” “Rob Pattinson” – contained malicious software.”

A Twilight Fan, ALS, and A Tale of Friendship

I saw this up on Yahoo’s homepage. As it played out, I noticed the various Twilight posters on the walls in the background. The story is a sad one, but it also has a great message on the power of love and friendship.

Twilight Moms: Ashley Greene Interview at DVD Signing

Kara from Twilight Moms was able to interview Ashley Greene at the New York City DVD signing.

Me: “There have been many rumors about Alice’s visions- can you tell me what they are really about?”

Ashley: “No! But I can tell you that there are so many visions and so many ways to interpret them- Bill Condon and I sat down to go over many of the options- I’ve had a lot of input on them- but I can’t tell you the details yet….”

Me: “Warrior’s Heart- it was filmed quite a while ago- do you know if it will be released soon?’

Ashley: “I know!  They haven’t told me when it will come out- but it’s been a while- we filmed it right after Twilight- hopefully it will be here soon”

Me: “As Alice- have you had fun planning the wedding?”

Ashley: “Yes! What we have worked on so far looks amazing- I’ve seen drawings of the dress and it’s beautiful- it’s really lovely- don’t worry! It’s going to be a great scene when it’s all done”

Salt Lake Magazine: Confessions of a Newborn Vampire

Salt Lake Magazine had a chance to interview Jodelle Ferland while she was in town signing Eclipse DVD’s.

BH: “How has your life changed since Eclipse?”

JF: “Well, my life has changed quite a bit, and in a lot of ways it stays the same. I’m still just, you know, a normal girl who enjoys hanging out with friends doing regular things. But, I mean I wouldn’t be here if it hadn’t been for Twilight. I’ve been doing all sorts of conventions, meeting a lot of fans. It’s just so much fun.”

BH: “Do you have any memorable moments from being on Eclipse?”

JF: “Well, I think honestly the whole movie was pretty memorable. Actually, I did have my 15th birthday on set, so that was pretty cool.”

BH: “Did you get a cake?”

JF: “Yeah I did. I had a birthday cake on set. And I mean that is pretty much every girls dream to have,” she smiles and laughs, “a birthday party on the set of Twilight. I was so happy that I got to do that. That was really fun.”

MTV: The Twilight Saga Year in Review

BreeTannerMTV recaps 2010 Twilight style:

“Last year we listed off the movies, TV shows and other pop-cult gems we were most excited for in 2010, and though the Wizarding World of Harry Potter got the top spot (come on, it’s a theme park), “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” was the movie we were most looking forward to. It’s been a big year for “The Twilight Saga,” and “Eclipse” definitely did not disappoint. As another year of “Twilight“‘s domination is about to begin, we figured now would be a good time to look back at the series’ biggest moments in 2010.”

Sofia Coppola Talks About Vampire Love and Breaking Dawn

Before Bill Condon was confirmed as the director of Breaking Dawn, one of the names that was being bandied about for a potential director (along with Gus Van Saant) was Sofia Coppola.  Sofia just sat down with New York Magazine’s Culture Vulture to talk about her vampire love, Breaking Dawn connection, and upcoming work.

Stephen told me that when you began this movie, Johnny Marco wasn’t the main character.
Yeah, I was writing something else and this character came to mind. I kept thinking about that character and got interested in doing a portrait of this guy.

What was the original project?
It’s sort of embarrassing. After Marie Antoinette, I was thinking, Oh, I feel like it’s time for a vampire movie. So I was writing this vampire story, and then that character came in. It was before Twilight and all that stuff.

Was it kind of a Bret Easton Ellis, vampires-in-Hollywood type of thing?
Oh no, it was set in Europe.

And it just happened to involve a Hollywood star?
Yeah, he came into the story, but it was all set in Europe. And then I was writing the character of the daughter, and I asked my friend’s daughter what books she would be reading, and she was explaining to me the plot of Twilight, and I didn’t know what it was. So that’s why we have the daughter talking about that [in Somewhere].

And then life imitated art, because you were mentioned as a contender to direct the final Twilight installment, Breaking Dawn. Did you approach them, or did they approach you?
They approached me. I had asked [Summit] about something else a while ago, but they approached me about that.

Did you ever seriously consider the gig?
Yeah. Yeah, I talked to them about it. I liked the first story, and I have so many friends’ kids who love it. I think it’s romantic. But yeah, I didn’t end up doing it.”
