Holiday Shopping

  1. I’ve had about a dozen e-mails lately from fans and mom’s of fans asking about how they can get Twilight products for Christmas.  Until I can figure out how to change the links on the side of the Lexicon, I figured I post the link to the Cafe Press shop in here.

The Lexicon Gift Shop

Remember that all the products have a very minimal mark up from the original price.  We only make a dollor or so off of the larger items and even less off of the smaller ones.  All the extra funds go right back into the running of the lexicon so that we can stay on line and add free.  So far we’ve raised enough money to cover the server upgrade, which is WONDERFUL!  Bookmark the site and direct your parent’s to the page so that I don’t have to continue sending indvidual e-mails to everyone!  LOL!  If there is enough interest, we might change the "Edward Lover" products to that of "Jacob Lover" for a short time.  Leave a message if you would be interested in Jacob related products.

I hope you all have a wonderful Twilight filled holiday!

Quick update

We’ve added Chapter 22: Hide and Seek and Chapter 23: The Angel to the Twilight chapter section.  We should have the rest of the book finished by the end of the week.  You can discuss chapter 22 over at the message boards.  We will post the discussion for chapter 23 tomorrow.

In light of the fact that we are finishing up Twilight, the chapter discussion for New Moon will begin very shortly.  If you have been asked to lead one of the chapter discussions, please send me your chapter ASAP so that I can get them organized and ready to post.  You can send it to [email protected] with your chapter number in the subject line.

Lots of news today

First of all thank to Lexicon user Alice who posted a heads up that you can now pre-order Eclipse and The Prom Nights From Hell from Amazon Canadian. The Prom Nights From Hell currently only has Meg Cabbot’s name attached to it, but devoted Stephenie fans have known for months that Stephenie is one of the authors who wrote a story in this book coordinated by Meg Cabbot. I’m also slightly amused in that Amazon Canada thinks Stephenie has written another book called "Fascination".  When you look carefully, it’s just the softcover edition of Twilight. (Edited: Stephenie has pointed out below that it is the French version..makes sense in Canada)

I’m sure the above will shortly be available from the USA version of that site. According to Stephenie (she updated her website today which will bring me to the next part momentarily), Eclispe will be available in August 2007.  Keep in mind folks that we don’t have an official date and that this info might change slightly over the next few months. Suffice to say, when we know details, you’ll know details.

Stephenie has put up some new covers for non-USA versions of Twilgiht and New Moon. Does anyone else think it looks like Bella made a pitstop at the Tuesday Addams house of fashion on the UK covers?

Next, Stephenie added a new New Moon outtake (you need Adobe Acrobat to read the PDF file) from Rosalie’s point of view. For reasons that are utterly obvious when you read the preface I am deeply humbled, stunned, thrilled ( I’m running out of adjectives) that Twilight Fanfiction and Fanart was able to inspire Stephenie to write from an alternate point of view.

Lastly, it seems that Stephenie will be quite busy in the near future:

"… I’ll be mostly MIA for the next half year or so—I need to write a 600+ page book by June, while editing a 800+ page book by April. A mental breakdown is a definite possibility…"

I believe that the 600 page book is Breaking Dawn, the title for book four (still stunned that I suggested that title a couple of months back and it is now the title), and that the 800+ page book is her sci-fi novel The Host.

And last but not least, Stephenie updated her calendar. Aside from some local Arizona signings, and a prestation at her alma mater, BYU, Stephenie will be hosting an event in Phoenix called "The Eclipse Prom". If you are wondering what in the heck The Eclipse Prom is, I direct you to Stephenie’s MySpace.

Excuse me while I toddle off now, I’ve been uber Stephenied

Short Story by Stephenie

I think it’s common knowledge now that Stehpenie is a member of the LDS church.  For anyone who happens to be a memeber, or who knows a member, you will want to pay speical attention to the December Ensign Magazine.  We got ours in the mail today and on page 20 is a short story written by none other than Stephenie Meyer herself!  It’s a delightful and touching little story about our author witnessing a "hero" at the grocery story.

There is a link to the story in the braile section of the site.  It’s down the page a bit and you have to scroll over while reading, but at least now everyone can enjoy the story.

Nashville Take Two

Picking up where we left off on the other post…

After the quiz, I gave Stephenie the scrapbook that everyone contributed to.  I read the "dedication" out loud and got all emotional about it.  It basically said that all of her fans around the world wanted to thank her and send her brithday wishes.  I also added a personal note of my own about how much twilight has changed my life.  Here are pictures of me reading the dedication, Stephenie listening to the reading, and then Stephenie looking at the book.  The page you see there is my own, so no one can worry that their information can be spotted on the internet.  (I promised you all that no one would read your notes other than Stephenie.)  Pel and I will go into more detail about the book when we update the Forks-casts.

Stephenie sold two kinds of shirts to the group.  I think the most popular of the shirts was the Jacob Black shirt that Pel and I are wearing in this photo.   The back is very similar to the Edward Cullen t-shirt except that it is the Jacob Black fan club.  The other shirt was a pink Twilight shirt with her web address on it.  Very pretty.

We then ate about nine cheese pizzas and butchered a strawberry cheesecake until everyone was stuffed with yummy food.  We all calmed down and listened to Stephenie read a few portions of Midnight Sun as well as answer a few questions from the group

Stephenie left around 9:30 and the rest of us stayed behind to chat about the Lexicon and the general fandom.  We got one last group photo, complements of Seraphyn, and Pel and I headed home about 11:30.   I have no idea what time everyone got to bed but I sure it was well into the morning!

On Sunday, Pel and I met up with Steph for church and then eventually made our way back to the hotel that evening to podcast with the group that was left.  It was a great time and we somehow managed to get everyone to take turns talking!  We will post the podcast once Pel gets home and has time to convert the recording to the MP3.

Tonight is the party at the bookstore and our farewell to Nashville.  So far I think everyone has had a wonderful time.  We really wish all of you were here with us!

Nashville Round One

Hello everyone!

Pel and I are recovering from a wonderful evening of fun with the whole gang here in Nashville.  We started the evening by having everyone put on name tags with their screen name and real name.  Someone swiped mine and I’m curious to know who it was!  We also gave everyone an Edward button as a gift as well as a post card with the Lexcion picture that Pel and I signed…and some even got Steph to sign theirs.  Then we ordered pizza, which is a whole story in and of itself that I will save for the podcast!  And then Stephenie arrived.

I’m not sure how many people were actually surprised by Stephenie’s arrival, but I know at least two people were.  We tried to keep it quiet, but I know it leaked out in chat.  She came in and instead of squeals of delight, she was met with an almost stunned silence.  I thought it was funny, but soon everyone was talking again and sitting at her feet in rapt attention just waiting for a spoiler!

We played several trivia games, all of which you can find posted on the message boards.  Here are several pictures of everyone taking the tests and mingling about.  Silly Bella won the general Twilight quiz and took home an Edward Lover teddy bear.  Freesia won the Lexicon History test and took home a Lexicon calandar.  And Tayls won the fan fiction test and took home an Edward magnet.

Now we have to dash off to church.  We will fill you in on the rest of the details when we got home as well as post more pictures.  So far it’s been a BLAST!

Nashville Weekend Forcast

For those of you packing for Nashville the weather is going to be sunny, but a bit on the nippy side. So bring layers!

Monday’s high is 44 and low is 27! So, you thin blooded people, dress warmly!

New Forks-Cast number 6 overall

We just uploaded two new Forks-Casts also known as the Lexicon’s version of podcasting. Hey, we’re not high tech, but we aim for entertainment.

We decided to do a little change of pace from the Q & A thread and relate what it is like to meet Stephenie in real life. So Alphie and I in Forks-Cast 6 part 1 talk about the first time we met Stephenie back in May. Then in Forks-Cast 6 part two, I talk about spending time with Stephenie in Manhattan.

We also will have a part three on Alphie’s recent trip to Austin that we have to rerecord because it disappeared into cyber-space. So stay tuned on that I hope to have that version up by tomorrow.

Oh, one last thought, SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!  Nashville here I come!

Nashville FAQ

I’ve had lots and lots of e-mails about Nashville on Saturday night, so here is what everyone needs to know.

When – Saturday Nov. 18 from 5:30 pm – 11pm

Where – Meet in the lobby of the Hampton Inn near the Green Hills Mall: 2324 Crestmoor Road, Nashville, TN 37215
Tel: 615-777-0001

Who – Anyone who can come.  Since we have rented a room, we have more space.  Just be aware that I told them we would have about 40 people, so if it gets too crowded, someone who wasn’t originally on the list might have to leave.  I don’t think it will be a problem, but just in case.

What – Lexicon party!  I ordered three whole cheesecakes: Strawberry, Snickers, and Godiva Chocolate as well as some chocolate cake.  We have games and prizes – GOOD prizes!

How much – The Godiva Chocolate cake is $6 a slice.  The other cheesecakes are $5 a slice.  The Chocolate cake is $4 a slice.  We will be ordering pizza as well, so bring another $5 bucks to help cover the cost of that.  If you want tp pitch in chips or some other snack food, feel free to do so.  We can get sodas from the hotel machines.  I’m thinking the whole thing will end up costing you no more than $13.  Be sure to bring cash!

Why – Becasue we want to PARTY!

See you there!
