Congrats to Christopher Paolini and his Inheritance series books. They are the first to knock the Twilight Saga to the number 2 position in the NY Times Best Seller list.  If you haven’t read they books pick them up, they are a great read especially if you are into dragons.

The Novel Novice site has launched a Rock the Vote campaign Twilight style.  They have lots of great info on how if you are 18 or older in the US you can register to vote, and how if say you are away at school, you can send in an absentee ballot. Their site and ours is staying 100% politically neutral. We support the idea that people should vote, but who you vote for should be your choice.

OK, in English, Breaking Dawn is finally arriving in the Spanish speaking world on Wednesday night, and they are celebrating in a big way. Now I know everyone makes a big deal about the English speaking fans, but the Spanish speaking fans are just as passionate.

Alfagura, the Spanish publishing house, has decorated the FNCA shops (think their versions of Borders and Barnes and Noble).

The Sitiges Film Festival is going to be featuring movie promos. Check out this one made by Javier of Crepusculo.

In South America they are celebrating too with their release matching time zone wise the release in Spain.

Liz Reaser’s new show, The Ex List, debuts tonight on CBS. Check your local schedules for times near you. There are some really cool videos featuring Liz on the CBS website with behind the scenes looks and sneak peeks.

Now Jackson Rathbone fans, not to be outdone by the enthusiasm of a certain sock campaign, have come up with a super idea. Given that Jackson is musically talented and was often seen on set strumming his guitar during downtime, he must go through quite a few guitar picks. Jackson’s worries are now over because the Twilight Mafia is on the case.

Hot topic has added several new items to its Twilight collection including pins, key chains, and baby creepers.Thanks to multiple people who emailed.

 We also hear that Borders has some new items in the works and we hope to have images on those shortly.

We recently checked with Summit Films regarding the status of fan involvement during the premiere. According to Summit the premiere will take place at the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater on November 17th. It’s standard to do a premiere a few days ahead of the nationwide release.

Fans are welcomed to come out and see the stars by standing in roped off areas.  We specifically asked Summit "Is there any restriction security wise on who can be outside the theater. In other words would the average fan have the opportunity to stand behind a rope line and see the stars arrive?"  and we were told "There are no restrictions regarding being present for arrivals at the premiere."

We also asked if the average fan would have any opportunity to actually get inside the premiere, and they are getting back to us on that. However they did share a bunch of new info seen below.

We’re excited to announce the launch date for the new TWILIGHT trailer, set to debut online next Thursday, October 9.  It can also be seen in theaters attached to select films (at the discretion of the exhibitor). There will also be a sneak peak of the new trailer on Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, October 9th. Immediately following the sneak peak, Summit is letting the fans be the first to see the trailer online in its entirety and share it.

TwiCon 2009 is proud to begin announcing our line-up of special guests, all of whom are well-known names in their respective communities.

Kaleb Nation is a writer, blogger, former radio host and 20-year-old college student, sometimes better known as The Twilight Guy. His debut novel, Bran Hambric: The Farfield Curse, will be released in Fall 2009. He currently blogs his journey as a guy reading the Twilight Saga at TwilightGuy.com, and as a writer at KalebNation.com.

 Evil Iguana Productions is a production crew made up of six talented young men in their late teen and early twenties. They are most well known for their movie spoofs of The Dark Knight and Twilight.  After the release of their Twilight spoof, their amount YouTube subscribers more than doubled. The Twilight spoof stars Allen Murphy as Edward, Robin Andrews as Bella, and Craig Deering as James. Their YouTube channel can be found at www.youtube.com/EvilIguanaProduction.

There are several Twilight Conventions that are slated for the coming year.  If you have never been to a fan convention or con, it’s a great chance to meet up with others who share your obsession and don’t think it’s unusual that you’ve read Twilight so many times that the cover fell off.

First off there is the Eternal Twilight Convention in the UK.  So far they have Kellan Lutz signed on as making an appearance.

Next there is Twilight Australia that has not only Kellan, but also Ashley Greene signed on.

There’s a smaller con based in Forks happening in late June called Summer School in Forks, A Twilight Symposium. This con is being run by the same group that ran the Sonorus Harry Potter con last June. They are currently calling for presenter proposals and vendor sign-up.

Last but not least Twicon has a big announcement slated for 12:30 AM est tonight (see the countdown timer below).  All week the site has been hinting at various things such as the vampire wars of the South, blood drops on a map, and today the hint is to check out chapter 13 of Eclipse. So at 12:30 AM tune into this live video feed and find out how it all comes together.

Rob Pattinson and Jackson Rathbone both have some current projects where you can see them perform.

Rob’s film, How To Be, will be showing at the Derby City Film Festival.  The film is slated for a 7:00pm performance on October 11.  There is no word as to which specific actors and staffers from the film will be present. TY to Jamie.

Jackson can be seen in the encore performance of The Cleaner in an episode entitled Back to One this coming Monday and Tuesday. Set your recorders. TY to Sara
