Bobby Long Goes On Tour

Blast Magazine has a rundown of Bobby Long’s upcoming US appearances.

According to Bobby’s manager in the Blast issue:

“Bobby has several US labels looking at him right now. It would be a huge help if any one who is not already a “friend” of Bobby’s on MySpace would send him a request as soon as possible so that the numbers go up. As ever
you can stop in and say hello at www.myspace.com/musicbobbylong.

Bobby is in the process of making a DVD which will include the video for “Left To Lie” interviews and several other tracks recorded live in Soho, London.

The single “Left to Lie” will be available on iTunes in the next two or three weeks.”

The Volturi Move To Venice?

Well, not exactly, but it seems Italy is this hot bed of anceint vampire lure. The BBC has an entire feature on vampires in Venice.

The classic stake through the heart wasn’t used so much as a brick in the mouth. Either way, OUCH!

According to Matteo Borrini of Florence University.

“Wedging a rock or brick into the mouth of a suspected vampire was a way of preventing the person from feeding on the bodies of other plague victims and rising from the grave to attack the living…The idea that plague victims might also be vampires may have arisen because blood often dribbled from the mouths of those who died from the disease.

Vancouver Welcomes New Moon Filming

The Vancouver Sun has an article on how the New Moon movie is the talk of the town. They give all sort of suggestions for filming locations.

They have suggested Swan and Cullen homes to even ideas on which movie theater should be used for Bella’s “date” with Mike and Jacob.

“After the breakup, Bella goes to the movies, where the film reminds her that she has become an emotional zombie (who incidentally hangs out with vampires and werewolves). The closest theatre to Forks, Wash., where New Moon is set is in Port Angeles. That little box with its low marquee to me resembles the Dolphin Theatre in Burnaby. It looks about as small-town as it could be. The added bonus is that the producers would not even have to change the name of the theatre, as dolphins are common in the waters around the Olympic Peninsula.”

Just got home from work where the filter blocked the video content. Person I asked to evaluate the content when I posted didn’t
mention that there was only one person in the car. Vid coming down. Don’t try this at home kids!
Because this seems as good a time as any to restate it, the Lexicon has always had the following photo/video policy. We will not run photos/video if they involve trespassing(or any other illegal activity), what we consider to be badgering/harassing of cast and crew, putting yourself or others at risk, or appear to be obtained under false pretenses. So to take the current video as an example: driving by on a public road while maintaining control of your vehicle getting video as you go-not harassing, running up to the paint crew as they restock from their truck and getting in their faces–harassing.

Looks Like Variety Jumped The Gun:Bayona not a done deal

We said this awhile back in regards to the Vanessa Hudgens and America Ferrara wild rumors, “Did all of Hollywood forget how to use the phone or this new fangled thing called email, and check things before publishing? ”

Because almost no one checked out any of the Rumors in those stories. The only outlets to pick up the phone and actually ASK credible sources with direct knowledge were us and Just Jared. Let that one sink in a minute. A newsblog run by fans and Just Jared, which not to disparage Just Jared, but they aren’t exactly The New York Times, and we sure don’t do this as our day job.  We both published from direct sources that we called: Hudgen’s manager in Just Jared’s case and Melissa Rosenberg in ours, totally debunking unsubstantiated rumor run by mainstream media (almost none of which retracted their erroneous stories).

Well the LA times has just quashed the latest director rumor that countless media outlets spun into fact. Here’s the quote that sums up what has become all too common in entertainment writing:

By sheer coincidence, I had lunch today with Erik Feig, who’s president of production at Summit and the man most involved with managing the hit series of films. (“New Moon,” the second film in the series, begins production later this month with Chris Weitz at the helm.)

Feig was shocked to see the media reports saying Summit had hired Bayona, since — ahem — they’re not true. “The ‘Eclipse’ directing job hasn’t been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else,” he told me. “We’ve met with three or four talented filmmakers and we’ll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job.”

Feig added that no one even bothered to call to check out the rumors before printing them, something that has become an all-too-often occurrence in the Wild West free-for-all that constitutes today’s Web-based entertainment coverage. “Nikki never called Summit or any of the producers, and Variety ran it off her blog without calling us either, which I find doubly irresponsible.”

Read the whole story here. We’re wondering if the outlets who took the original story that was clearly published as rumor and reposted as fact will retract it.
