After a Salt Lake City radio station announced that a Twilight star was going to be at Wallmart the entire town pretty much abandoned where they were going to get their DVD’s and they headed over to Wallmart. Our Salt Lake City team was prescheduled to lead the fun and games at a Borders across town. So they lead the games, got their DVD’s at Borders and then headed across town to Wallmart where they met Rachelle where Rachelle gave the Lex a shout out and Nena cullen who shot the vid got a surprise hug.

So now that you have had the DVD for almost 24 hours we want to know what your favorite parts were.
In case you haven’t watched the Director’s commentary (with Catherine, Rob and Kristen) stop whatever you are doing and watch it now!! It is just too funny. Our favorite comment from the commentary was made by Rob during the big reveal scene.

“I thought I was going to get Cam’s six pack super imposed.” or “Never trust a man who waxes his eyebrows”

We’ve checked out all the specials on the Borders exclusive edition.  There is fantastic never before seen red carpet footage and cast interviews from Comic Con.

The lovely Twicrack Addict has been busy over the last few days gathering information on all the New Moon happenings in Vancouver.  Her blog is loaded with photos and info on the filming that was going on yesterday at the beach.  But our favorite has to be her coverage on some suspicious looking Seattle police cars in Mission, BC. 

Then there was the follow up post with photos of the scene. There is also a very unique video of Alex Meraz.

confirmed that New Moon will be shot there from may 25 to may 30.

Eyes of Amber had a really interesting encounter yesterday. We’ve been doing this blog for three years, and this is one of those few times that we can say,”We’ve never seen anything quite like this before.” Check out Amber’s site for all the pictures and a full explanation.

Larry Carrol covered Ashley’s experience at Hot Topic for the midnight release party and he had an interesting experience of his own.

Which leads me to what might be my favorite moment of the night. As I walked through the courtyard, a bunch of girls on a walkway shrieked at me – obviously, awesome MTV fans! Witnessing that exchange, two women walked up and asked what was going on. “Well, the ‘Twilight’ DVD goes on sale at midnight,” I said. “And someone from the movie is going to be in Hot Topic.”

“Are you in the movie?” they asked excitedly.

“Yes,” I replied. “I’m Robert Pattinson. Nice to meet you.”

As funny as it to think there are two women out there who now believe RPattz looks likes me, the best was yet to come.

I was lucky enough to find the Borders where Catherine Hardwicke made an appearance for the midnight release of the the dvd. She stopped in at about 11:30pm, answered a few questions, and stayed past 1:00 am signing autographs. I have attached a couple of pictures of the general crowd, Catherine talking, Catherine signing autographs, and one of me and Catherine.

Here is a report from Chicago from Lexiconer Emerald.  Thanks for sending in the coverage.

Nikki Reed was in one of the Hot Topics in Chicago area.  She was super sweet and did not have a lot of time to talk to everyone, but everyone who came had the opportunity tobuy a signed DVD and she briefly talked to us.  She told us how much she appreciated us coming out and how she loved her fans.  She looked like she was about to cry!  She was absolutely gorgeous and so thankful for everything!

Word leaked out early that there was a Twilight star making an appearance at the Wallmart in Salt Lake City. Early reports on Salt Lake radio stated that it was Ashley Greene; however, those reports turned out to be false and it was actually Rachelle Lefevere who made the appearance in Salt Lake while Ashley was in Los Angeles.

Our own Nena Cullen and Danobano with members of the Salt Lake City Twilighters Anonymous were at both a local Borders to lead off the games and then they ran over to Wal-mart to meet Rachelle.  Here is Nena’s report:

Our lexicon t-shirt winner had do guess a number at the end among other 20 people that knew most questions correctly!

After we lined up for an hour we got the chance to have our DVD’s signed by Rachelle Lafevre, she was really sweet and gave a special shout out to our Administrator and webmaster Laura aka Pel..( sorry Lori, I said both of your names, but she only heard the last one). Then she went on to sign every single DVD that was lined up. She stayed past 2 am, until the last person was through the line. We wanted to say bye and to my surprise she turned around, recognized our Lexicon t-shirts and came to give me a hug, then she went on to say bye to the rest of the people waiting and left with a ” We tried very hard to work on this and make it right, thank you for coming”.

Edi Gathegi was at the Penn Plaza Borders store for the relaese party last night.  We were there and the party was amazing.  The Borders employees were fantastic in organizing the scavenger hunt and trivia contest for the nearly  500 fans that turned out.  Twilight Live had a podcast featuring NoMoreMarbles, Kimbra Hickey(the hands of Twilight) and Craig and Tom from Evil Iguana.  Our very own Pel co-hosted with Kara from the TwilightMOMS.

Edi signed all the DVDs, did interviews with the media and entertained the crowd by answering some their questions.  We worked with Borders and you will be able to see our coverage of the event at Borders.com.  We will let you know when it is posted and you may even get to hear Kelly, Edi’s alternate cranking calling voice.
