New Forks-Cast

Alphie and I recorded a new Forks-Cast. This time our theme was a little different. We often get people who say, "Wow, running the Lexicon must be a lot of work." We usually respond, "It is, but it’s a lot of fun. Whenever we get really down we just complain to each other."

We decided for our theme to be a bit of a take a walk in the shoes of Alphie and Pel, and our favorite…or not so favorite questions that we get asked all the time. So, have fun, and enjoy our latest Forks-Cast.

The Prom Nights From Hell Cover

The cover for the upcoming Prom Nights From Hell anthology is now up.  The book should be available in April 2007.

There is no official summary listed on Amazon or B&N, but Meg Cabot, one of the contributing authors, wrote this description on her blog back in October:

"Did I mention I have a short story (well, a novella, really) coming out in an anthology Harper Teen is doing called PROM NIGHTS FROM HELL? Well, I do. This book will be out in April 2007. The other contributors are Kim Harrison, Michele Jaffe, Stephenie Meyer, and Lauren Myracle. Obviously, these will be stories about prom nights. From hell. Not necessarily literally, but they are supposed to contain a paranormal element."

Stephenie has confirmed in various threads that the Twilight Universe characters are not a part of her story, but she has not stated what type of paranormal element she is going to go with.

Technical problems and an Update

Hi All,

Thanks to Darkseid our technical woes have been fixed. A huge round of applause is in order since he litlerally got up from his sick bed to fix it.

We also combined the Quench Your Thirst and Book Beyond Expectations Forums. Once Eclipse releases in fall 2007 we’ll create an Eclipse forum, but for now all book related discussions are in basically the one place.

Welcome to all our newcomers. It seems that Twilight and New Moon were under many a Christmas tree and we have had a huge influx of members. If you haven’t yet introduced yourself in the New Kid in Town forum please do. We like to get to know you, plus it helps identify real people from Spam accounts.

A lot of people don’t realize that we have information other than the forums. Many frequently asked questions can be found in the character bios  and personal correspondence listed on the main page www.twilightlexicon.com  Try checking out those locations for information.

Another great feature is our search feature found at the top of the forum page. Use the search to see if the topic you want to start already exists.  The mods hate locking topics, so do a little detective work and it won’t get locked.

Have funn all, and see you around the boards!

Alphie and Pel

PS. We tried to email this to everyone but for some reason now the email isn’t working.

Technical problems

Right now the messages boards are going up and down, and when they are up an error message pops up when you post. We know about it, but it might be awhile before it gets fixed since our tech guru is a bit under the weather at the moment.

In other news, there is free shipping be offered at Cafepress in time for Valentine’s Day. Check out the goodies at the Lexicon Shop The Lexicon Shop

Where has Stephenie been?

Lately whenever we post news, we get a ton of comments that ask, "When is Stephenie coming to…(insert name of city here)?" So I thought I’d post a little map to show exactly where she has been.

Just a reminder, folks, Stephenie only has three upcoming engagements before the release of Eclipse: The BYU Event, The Spain Tour, and The Eclipse Prom.  There is no further info available at this time on the Spain Tour or Eclipse Prom, but when we know, you’ll know.

Als, Stephenie is busy writing Breaking Dawn and editing The Host, so she is not really able to tour right now. Plus, remember that Stephenie goes where Little Brown tells her to. So if you want her to visit a certain location, begging Stephenie doesn’t help. The tour schedule is not released until just before the novel which is currently slated for fall 2007.

Espana 2007-Spain 2007

Tenemos buenas noticias.

Ok, now for those of you who are wondering why the Lexicon has gone bilingual, the news is that Stephenie is going to be visiting Spain in time for the Spanish release of New Moon on February 14th. So all you European fans will have the opportunity to meet her. We don’t have the exact cities and locations yet, but when we are confirmed we’ll clue you in. So you can’t complain that she has only stayed in America anymore.

For those of you who speak Spanish, check out the Spainsh Fansite Crepusculo they are the Lexicon’s counterpart in Spain. They had the story first. Nice scoop guys! Even if you don’t Spanish well, check out their site. They have a bunch of cool wallpapers (I’m actually using one of theirs on my desktop).

Edited: Eri wrote to the Spanish publisher and they confirmed our information, as well as provided a link to their site for people to check.

I LOVE EDWARD PARTY IS FULL

Ok folks, the I Love Edward Party mentioned in the last two posts is filled. They even have a waiting list in case someone backs out last second.

Many thanks to Ellabelle, Twix, and Jazzygeorgie for organizing all of this. It should be quite the event.

If there are any questions as to whether you are on the list for the I Love Edward Party or not email Jazzygeorgie at [email protected]

The BYU symposium I beleive still has room available. This is their site http://ce.byu.edu/cw/wbfyr/

BYU I love edward filling fast

Like I said in yesterday’s  post the spots for the BYU I Love Edward Party are going fast and on a first come first serve basis. As of right now, there are approximately 10 spaces left.

Make sure you check out this post and verify that you are on the list if you have contacted Jazzygeorgie about attending the party.

You can email Jazzygeorgie at [email protected] for reservations or with questions.

BYU Update, There is now an I Love Edward Party too

On Friday, February 2nd from 6-9pm there will be an I LOVE EDWARD CULLEN party at the Provo City Library. The cost is $10 for food and numerous goodies that will be provided! Lexiconer Jazzygeorgie is heading this up along with Twix and Elbelle. Don’t miss out if you are planning to attend. There is a limited amount of space so act today!

They have a room that will fit 48 people and right now they have (including Stephenie and her guest) 16 that have said they will attend. Please email Jazzygeorgie at: [email protected] with your first and last name and if you are going. The deadline to let her know who is coming is January 20th, but be aware it is first come first serve and spots may fill before that. So, no complaining if you wait until the last minute only to find out there are no spots left!

Also, on February 3rd there will be a get together for dinner most likely at the Brick Oven for any fans who attended the symposium. We will mention this to Stephenie, but I believe she has another function to attend that night. If anyone is interested in this dinner please email me so we can get a count ready to tell the Brick Oven when we go. They don’t take reservations.

The website for the BYU event is again: http://ce.byu.edu/cw/wbfyr/

Prom Nights from hell

In case, like me you just received a bunch of gift cards to bookstores, here’s a suggestion.

The Prom Nights From Hell, a book of prom oriented short stories featuring authors such as Meg Cabot (of Princess Diaries fame), Stephenie, and other YA authors, is now available for pre-order from both Amazon and Barnes and Nobel. You can see there is a bit a of pricing war going on there. Amazon has the paperback for $9.99 while Barnes and Nobel has it for $8.99. Currently Barnes and Nobel is also advertising a hardback version for $12.23 which is not a bad deal on a hardcover book at all.

The book is also available for our English speaking European fans at Amazon UK and our Canadian fans via Amazon Canada

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
