Rachelle and a Robert Pattinson Interview

We want to send our congratulations off to Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria) who’s reoccurring role ended this week on Boston Legal.  You can see Rachelle this May in the film Fugitive Pieces(Please note this film is rated R.)   She is an amazing talent and we wish her all the best in her career.  To read our interview with Rachelle click here.

Also the amazingly talented December from our message boards has unearthed a hysterical interview with Robert Pattinson early on in his career.  It’s a wonderful read and gives you a glimpse into the humor behind those garish good looks.

Pattinson’s role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has been garnering standout notices, although he bridles, with endearing embarrassment, at the label ‘heart-throb’. ‘I read the Variety review and their only comment was "rangy". I thought it meant from the range, like a cowboy. But it just means tall and lanky.’

The Official Twilight Youtube Channel has added the Teaser trailer to its video log.  Be sure to subscribe to that channel to get the latest updates.  We are getting many reports that the Twilight teaser trailer is poping up on movies all over the country.  So you may be in for a treat the next time you head off to the box office.

Our beloved Mike/Mike Updated his blog on myspace.  And so did Christian Serratos (Angela), keep checking back to Christian’s page for photos she took behind the scenes during filming!

And the numbers are in…

Topping off the Wall Street Journal’s best seller list this morning is none other then The Host!

Publisher’s Weekly also ranks The Host at #1 and gives us a list of Stephenie by the numbers. (Thanks Leaf for the link on this one.)

And the USA Today marks The Host as sliding saftely in at #3 on their top 150 Best Sellers list(Be sure to notice that The Host isn’t the only book by Stephenie holding a top 30 spot on the USA Today list!)

Congratulations Stephenie!

Thank you Shel for the heads up!

A Salute to the Twilight Guy

We are absolutely thrilled today to be working in conjunction with numerous sites in an effort to answer this question…

Can a person of the male gender like these books and subsequently this movie and still keep his man card?

The answer?  Instead of hearing it from me, I give you the men of the Twilight fandom:

Seth, Stephenie Meyer’s Webmaster and brother, explains…

When browsing blogs and exploring Twilight series fansites, it is easy for a male fan to think that he is alone in the world of Twi-hards.

But, it just isn’t true. I constantly receive emails at stepheniemeyer.com from male fans who wonder why the fandom is so highly dominated by females. I think that the reason is the powerful love story which is part of almost every page of the books. While there is no reason why a guy can’t enjoy a love story, us "manly men"  (who by definition cannot admit to enjoying love stories) have other reasons to love the Twilight series. Stephenie’s ability to describe action scenes is rivaled only by her amazing descriptions of the setting. And the books are filled with both. Some of my favorite scenes include the battle in Eclipse (and the training) and the Volterra encounter in New Moon. My favorite characters are almost exclusively werewolves. I like Jacob’s style, and Seth Clearwater is a personal favorite.

The bottom line is that these books are true "page-turners." They are nearly impossible to put down, and everybody can enjoy that… no matter if they have two X chromosomes or not.

–Seth

And last but certainly not least…the inspiration behind this testosterone love fest.  While in Portland on the set of Twilight the Movie I had the opportunity to meet Scott Murray, the talented producer who brought us the breathtaking Comic Con promo trailer and gave us our first real glimpse into the magic of this film.

So you see, Twilight isn’t just for teenage girls, stay at home moms, or women of any age who are dreaming of their Edward to come and sweep them away…  Its a book that has mass appeal,  a book that spans stereotypical genre and encompasses those things in life we hold fundemental no matter what our gender.  Love, freedom, pain, jealousy, fear, joy, anger, lust, but most of all…choice.

Twilight Tuesday and more!

MTV has come through with another Twilight Tuesday for us to read and ponder.  This one is about the potential for sequels.  We need to stress that as of today there is no contract for any of the sequels to be filmed.  We will let you know as soon as we hear anything official on that front.  A quote from the article states:

It’s been discussed,” producer Greg Mooradian revealed to MTV News recently. “I can’t tell you we’re at that place yet, but it’s definitely been discussed.”

The question at the end that Larry asks us to respond to is:

Would you like to see the sequels filmed at the same time, or would you rather have everyone take a few years off to catch their breath in-between movies?

EDITED:  They also have a great article on Carlisle, Peter Facinelli, and his Mercedes.

Go make your thoughts known and remember to tell them you heard about it from the Lexicon!

We also have an article from an Australian source about the environment while shooting the Twilight film with one of the funniest headlines I’ve seen in a long time!  Go check it out!

Evening News Wrap Up

We have a couple of items to share with you tonight.  First up is an excellent article from a UK site called Times Online.   Once again Stephenie is compared to J.K Rowling, but the report hones in on the differences and how Stephenie has her own niche.

“Everyone is looking for the next J.K. Rowling. It’s not going to happen. That’s just something that is never going to happen again. She was, is, something that will not be repeated.”

Also, there is a quote about the film which will answer the pressing question as to what the rating of the film will be.

“I put in a clause in the contract that the movie had to be PG-13 so I could go see it,” says Meyer.

Also, there was another Deseret News article about Stephenie and The Host that we need to share with you.  You can read it on line here

Since so many people are asking, there are currently 2,563,394 views on the Twilight Trailer at 10 pm EST which is not enough to beat out Indiana Jones.  Still an excellent effort on the part of a film "no one has heard of" according to some sources!

Lastly, in response to questions in our inbox, yes we know about the book New Dawn.  It is an unauthorized book of essays on the Twilight phenomenon that was put together by Borders. It features commentary  from upcoming writers who mostly are attached to Simon and Schuster.  It is not a preview of Breaking Dawn.  It is only available from Borders.
