What Goes Up Must Come Down: Goodbye to the Breaking Dawn Sets

bella and edward's cottage being deconstructed

The sets in Vancouver that were temporary structures that were built, and in the case of the Swan house, rebuilt have now come down. The structures that remain standing in the Vancouver area are the ones that existed as locations prior to filming ever beginning. Some of these include the following:

Jacob’s House location
Movie theater where the Mike, Bella, Jacob three-way date and aftermath was shot
Movie theater where the Bella and Jessica motorcycle scene was shot
Move theater recently used for assumed flashback footage
The Cullen house used in New Moon
The pool where the Kristen Stewart, Rachelle Lefevre, and Taylor Lautner filmed the  CGI for Bella’s cliff jump

Of course the outdoor locations of the park land used for the break-up scene and the beautiful coastline of the Tofino area where the cliff diving scenes were shot aren’t going anywhere.

Who knows, maybe they’ll auction some memorable pieces?

  1. To sad… I wonder why they just didn’t leave them to the town? Or the town didn’t purchase them..I would have loved to have visited them.

Not sure about the Cottage location, but the Swan House location was private property that the owner may want to develop. The structures were built as temporary items so there would have to be some pretty substantial changes to bring them to code for permanent items.

Studios sometimes sell former pieces to local production studios where the items can be reused for anything from TV shows to another movie. They also at times auction off items or even give them away to local theater companies.

They can even change hands multiple times. Some recent items were auctioned from Remember Me, believe it or not the tombstone from Rob’s character went up for sale.

  2. I also heard that some of the sets are going into storage should Stephenie finish Midnight Sun one day..we can only hope!

Your note is like an electrifying shot of hope to my heart! Somebody official is optimistic about MS being completed?! Reasonably soon? The joy is too great ….

  3. That’s very sad.Seeing the above picture just threw it in my face…Twilight IS coming to an end.It never really sunk in for me till now.
I think 2012 is going to be a bittersweet year for all Twilight fans…we can’t wait to see the last chapter of this series on the big screen, but all the same,we don’t want it to end…

  4. This is really sad. One of the only good things about BD part 2 not coming out until 2012 is because I can live in this Twilight world a little longer. It’ll be so sad when BD part 2 comes out on dvd. (We can only hope that SM will have finished or will be soon finishing the book that shall not be named by then.)

  5. very sad i’ve been in this “Twilight world” since 2007 and it almost feels serial for it to come to an end but if your a real twilight fan you’ll still read the books all the time, talk about it all the time and keep up to date with some of our favorite actors. people that don’t like twilight or are against it say they can’t wait for the last movie (part 2) to come out for the madness to be over but twilight will always still be there no matter what.

It feels sad to know it’s all coming to an end. I’m feeling the same way with HP at the moment knowing part two is coming out in July. Yet at least with Twilight I still have hope that it will not be over and that the book that must not be named will come out some time before or after BD part 2 has come out. I feel so sad because so far this has been an amazing inspiring ride and I don’t want it to end.

This is so sad. Words cannot express what I am feeling right now. But I am tearing up. I can’t believe it is all nearly over. But Twilight will forever live on in all of our hearts. No matter what. :'(
