We have confirmed with Summit that the DVD will also be available in Blu-Ray on March 21st.

NYT Freakeconomics has an article about Stephenie and how the Twilight Saga held the top 4 spots on the best selling list.   TY to Twicrack Addict

Shock Til You Drop has an article about director James Mangold possible helming Eclipse.  (edited:  Summit has since denied this report that appeared in what is usually a reliable industry trade paper.) There is also a review of Edi Gathegi’s new movie My Bloody Valentine.

Happy Birthday Be My Escape

A very happy birthday to one of our mods, Be My Escape. She is the genius behind the camera who brought you all those red carpet goodies. She does lots behind the scenes to make the Lexicon run smoothly. So wish her a happy birthday, especially all you fellow Jacob lovers!

New Items from Hot Topic

Hot Topic has some new items up.  They now have the Edward action figure that has previously appeared on several other sites. As for new things, how about a pair of pencil cases? keep in mind that Hot Topic seems to rotate merchdise frequently, and we haven’t yet seen a single Twilight item hit their clearance section. So if you want it, it seems like a good idea to get it sooner rather than later.

Twilight Cast and Movie News

Starting February 4th, Film Independent kicks off Directors Close-Up: Conversations on the Art of Filmmaking (formerly the Directors Series), and one of the panelists this year is Catherine Hardwicke!  She will also have her cinematographer and editor on some of the panels with her.

The panels are every Wednesday at 7:30 pm at The Landmark Theater (10850 W. Pico Blvd.) in West Los Angeles.

Since 2002, this popular panel series, which continues until March 11th, will provide filmmakers and film lovers the chance to hear from the best indie directors and their collaborators.  For full details on tickets and exact times see their website

Edi gathegi was interviewed by phone on a local radio station San Diego channel 933  and fortunately they have a podcast. TY to Carmen.

Twilight made Box Office Prophets Top Twelve list of movie industry stories this year. It came in at the number 6 position.

Vanessa Hudgens…One More Time With Feeling

So we are about as tired as all of you are on the Vanessa Hudgens did she or didn’t she audition.

Yesterday her management ,when asked by Just Jared, said no. They also linked to a casting call showing the part is not currently being sought. We figured Just Jared had it right because our gut instinct, based on a number of factors, said not possible.

Today Access Hollywood said yes and stood by their source 100% when questioned.

So we thought, OK who would know the answer, and might be willing to give us a quote on the record?"

*Lightbulb…screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg*

So we asked Melissa if Leah Clearwater appeared in her script, because in the novel Leah is barely a blip on the radar. She’s in the spaghetti dinner scene talking on the phone.  It seemed to us that they probably wouldn’t be introducing Leah this movie given that fact.

So…drumroll please…according to Melissa Rosenberg, "if Vanessa is auditioning for the role of Leah, she’s written her own pages to read, ’cause I didn’t write ’em. "

Furthermore, EW, is now backing our what we have been saying.

So for the sake of our sanity, let’s save the Leah obsession for Eclipse where it actually belongs. The main female character that we all want to know about in New Moon isn’t a werewolf at all. It’s a pint-sized vampire with a hell of a wallop named JANE!

Vanessa Hudgens Take Two

Well now there is a new twist in the Vanessa Huggens tale of did she or didn’t she audition for the part of Leah Clearwater. Apparently just like Just Jared (who got an entirely different answer direct from Vanessa’s management) Access Hollywood did a little of its own verification and according to Access Hollywood (who is standing by their source which is not the MTV source although it remains unnamed)

Vanessa has auditioned for the role of Leah Clearwater, the series’ lone female werewolf, and is “up for the role,” a source close to Summit Entertainment confirmed.

However, “no official casting announcement has been made,” the source added.

So that leaves us with:

Just Jared directly quoting Vanessa’s management as "“I don’t know anything about the audition,” Vanessa’s rep tells JJJ. “As far as I know, it’s just a rumor."

Summit who won’t confirm or deny the rumor when asked, pretty much standard policy.

MTV stating Ashley Greene confirmed it, but doesn’t have her direct quote on that.

Access Hollywood sticking by: "Vanessa has auditioned for the role of Leah Clearwater, the series’ lone female werewolf, and is “up for the role,” a source close to Summit Entertainment confirmed."

We give up. We don’t know what to believe.
