Introducing the Lexicon Music Feature

Starting on Saturdays the Lexicon will be featuring interviews and polls based on Twilight related music.  To give you an idea of what you can expect we will be giving you a double feature this week! Check back in a bit for the second part of our feature.

We have a fantastic interview from MuteMath who contributed the song Spotlight to the Twilight Soundtrack.  The Deluxe soundtrack has the Son Lux Remix version of Spotlight.

You create music in a unique way. How do you come up with the various ways to create sound? Thanks. It’s simple, we try to use technology, both new and out of date to try to find new sounds, samplers, synths, birds, vampires…the list goes on.

How did Mutemath come to be and what does the name mean?

The name came about after me filling pages of a notebook with possible names. At first we called ourselves “Math” when it was just Paul and me. We settled on MuteMath because we thought it looked good in print.

You can find the rest of the interveiw HERE.  Below are the links for MuteMath.  I highly suggest checking out there site which has several songs for you to listen to.  Trust me it is worth the listen espcially Notice and Control.

Stephenie Meyer on Save the Book Babe

Stephenie has updated her site that further clarifies the information put up yesterday by the Project Book Babe website. There are still tickets available for the event. Even if you can’t attend, please consider supporting this cause by buying a Book Babe Tee from Twilight Teez or making a donation on their site. Faith is good people and could use the help!

If you win the lunch date with her its not any place in the world. It’s in Phoenix. She has photos of the marked up manuscripts that she is offering, the Japanese book editions, a rare Twilight Saga messenger bag , and more. Note, as was speculated earlier in our blog comments, if you win the Forever Dawn epilogue it comes with a confidentiality agreement which in all likelihood means that you can’t scan it and put it online.

Stephenie also discusses the history of the E-prom dress that will be an epic battle among at the very least Kara of Twilight Moms, Dano of the Lexicon, and Pel. Pel now has minions who have photoshopped her into the dress (take that Kara! :P) “My Eclipse Prom dress — This is the story behind my rather over-the-top dress: the idea for the Eclipse Prom began with a fan suggestion that I do one of my events with a formal dress requirement, to give us all a chance to dress up. I loved the idea, so we created the Eclipse Prom. In order to encourage people to come all fancy without worrying about being overdressed, I promised that my dress would out-formal every other dress in attendance. I made this promise rashly, as it’s harder to find ball gowns than one might think. After much searching, I saw this gorgeous red satin wedding dress in the window of a couture bridal shop. Yes, it’s actually a wedding dress. I bought it in a panicked rush a day before leaving the country for some events. I had the shop take about eight feet of train off, and make me the little jacket with the extra fabric. And, though it was close in a few cases, I think I made good on my rash promise.”

Breaking Dawn Chapter Update

site update We have two new Breaking Dawn chapter summaries from Book II for you today.  First up is Chapter 10: Why Didn’t I Just Walk Away? Oh Right, Because I’m an Idiot along with the discussion questions over on the message boards.  Special thanks to love2dream for her help with this one. Chapter 11: The Two Thing at the Very Top of My Things-I-Never-Want-To-Do List was prepared for us by Goodnight Elizabeth.  Again, visit the message boards for the discussion questions. Just FYI, both chapter titles were too long to fit in the subject line on the boards.  No need to PM us about the missing titles.  We anticipate that it may happen again.

Robert Pattinson Clears the Air: Literally

Rob sat down with Moviefone and debunked the lunatic rumors running around about him and body odor.

If you want another hilarious account of how out-of-hand this has all gotten Pattinson Anonymous (TY to G) has a step-by-step analysis.

We’ve been avoiding reporting on this crap despite the myriad of alerts in our inbox about it, because that’s what it is: crap on a slow news week.  We’re covering it now because Rob is actually talking about it.

Here’s our take. Literally hundreds of people visited the set last year and had their photo taken with Rob at various locations around Portland. In a fandom where people notice everything, not a single person reported Rob smelling bad.  Surely, if Edward Cullen had a bad case of body odor it would have been talked about widely last year. Heck, there would have been a revolt. People were ready to fry Rob over anything, any little excuse would have done it. If anything, people were talking about how good Rob smelled. The only odor we recall anyone talking about was one person who met him after he had a cigarette mentioned the lingering scent of cigarette smoke.

Demand Robert Pattinson in How To Be.

According to MTV you can get How To Be starring Robert Pattinson right in your home because the “IFC Festival Direct will be showing the film on demand beginning April 29.”.

What’s more, Rob has three tracks on the album which is including full lyric sheets and never seen before pictures. For 250 lucky fans it gets even better:

But perhaps the best news of all for Edward Cullen fans is that 250 people who preorder the CD directly from Dreamboat Records before April 28 will be selected at random to receive a booklet poster personally signed by Pattinson.”

See the whole story on MTV.

Hey Kids, Don’t Try This At Home…

Add this to the “now we’ve heard everything” pile… It seems some 13-year-old boy decided to bite classmates and is blaming it on Twilight.  In our opinion, Twilight is no more likely to have you chow down on classmates than Harry Potter is likely to have you jump off a building on a broom stick.

We’re really hoping that as Dr. Phil says that “common sense hasn’t taken a holiday” and that obviously there’s a lot more going on here than than movie mind control. The last thing we need is a warning of “don’t try this at home” stamped on the DVD’s a la McDonald’s coffee which amazingly is hot and hurts if you spill it on yourself.

Pocket Edward Kidnapped!

Pocket Edward where are you?????

Alas it is a sad day in the Twilight World. We have been contacted by Lauren, the owner of Pocket Edward and the blogger of Lauren’s Bite. It seems that Pocket Edward has been snatched!

Team Switzerland Project

For the Lexicon’s first Team Switzerland Project Day we will be looking at music that inspires Team Edward and Team Jacob to get along.  This song is from the new Blue October album Approaching Normal.  Blue Skies is a fantastic song that talks about leaving the past behind and moving into the future.  Here are my favorite lyrics to represent Team Switzerland:

I want the world to know
I’ve got your back
Through up and down see
So we can sit together
Side by side through amazing

So for your participation in this project post about a song that you think represents Team Switzerland and could possible inspire Team Jacob and Team Edward to “just get along.”  When posting lyrics please just post a sample or a link to the song.

All this year, we are inviting fans to submit their videos, artwork, poetry and other creative works to show how Team Edward and Team Jacob can get along. Every Friday this year is Team Switzerland Day – and throughout the year, we’ll share everything we receive.  Send your submissions to [email protected]

Also be sure to check out Novel Novice’s Team Switzerland Project Contest Today (Friday) is the last day to enter and they have some great prizes from Blue Foundation.
