Dane Cook Pulls Twilight April Fools

According to EXTRA Dane Cook decided to jump on the April Fools Twilight bandwaggon. He Twittered the following to his fans:

“I’m going 2 b in the new Twilight film! It’s a huge role. Im thrilled 2 b playing vampire! Cool news ain’t it? The producers put vampire teeth on my salad and asked me to join!”

Now EXTRA may have gotten sucked in here, but we didn’t. The answer is “no” Dane is not cast in the Twilight franchise.

April Fools Around the Twilight Fandom

So we weren’t the only site to have some April Fools fun.  Kaleb Nation (the source of our spoof) went Dr. Suess. Twilighters Anonymous were taken over by Google. Twilight Series Theories broke the news about Rob starring in Footloose.

Various entertainment sites also had some April Fools fun:

Ropes of Silicon announced that Rob would retire from acting.

Reelz Channel had Rob replacing Toby Maguire in the next Spiderman.

IF Magazine had all footage of New Moon accidentally being destroyed prompting a recasting.

Cinefantastique had Stephenie taking over the Narnia franchise as a script doctor.

Other sites, how do we put this, attempted fun and in our opinion went too far.

4TNZ Sent out the below press release to about 20 Twilight sites (and no we didn’t fall for it, but others did.) Now in the end harmless enough, but sending out a press release saying it’s not an April Fool’s prank, NOT COOL!

Amongst all the fake news on this April Fools Day, we’ve got a real scoop! Midnight Sun is happening!
Here’s the link: http://www.4tnz.com/content/stephenie-meyer-finally-release-midnight-sun
If you want, excerpt and link it!

Now for the truly tasteless and very unfunny (and several other things but we’d be violating our PG-13 rule if we said them) you’d have to go to 2SnapsTV

They reported that Stephenie had committed suicide. They go on to do an entire write up including the names of her minor children who she supposedly left behind which was then picked up by various news outlets.

No doubt in response to some of this Stephenie Meyer updated her own site tonight stating:

“Also, despite some really tasteful Fool’s Day pranks on-line, I want to assure you that I am in excellent health, thank you very much. Also, I have no current plans to write any scripts, sequels, or collaborations, nor have I been to any conventions this year.

Have a great week, everybody, and I hope to see many of you this weekend at the Book Babe event!

Thanks,

Steph”

April Fools Retrospective

We’ll we can see that we fooled a bunch of you with our own little April Fool’s humor. Now if you were really fooled, don’t feel too badly. We actually had our contacts at Summit wondering if it was for real or not. (*waves* hi guys!)

Those of you who have been here for awhile know that every year we do something. This year was the year for Kaleb Nation adoration. Who knows what we’ll do next year? Here’s a look back at what we’ve done in the past:

2008: The Volturi Takeover

2007: The Human Takeover
(The music used to be Twisted Sister’s We’re Not Gonna Take it, but apparently no Twisted Sister is allowed on YouTube so we had to do an audio swap.)

We’ll be flipping the site back to normal at around midnight eastern US time. Well…almost normal. Remember how we’ve been telling you that we were doing a major site revamp? Well, midnight is when we are going to do it. You’ll still see our signature image, but it will be more stylized. Colors and designs are way easier on the eyes, and a far easier navigation.

Who Is The Twi-Guy?

APRIL 1, 2009

Kaleb Nation, the genius behind the Twi-Guy phenomenon, is no stranger to literature or the internet. This amazing, multi-talented gentleman started writing at a young age. At only fourteen years of age – FOURTEEN – his brilliant mind came up with the concept and story of Bran Hambric. Through hard work and dedicated perseverance, he managed to write his story and has already signed with one of New York’s leading literary agencies. Look for the first of what we are sure will be dozens of number one best sellers to be on the shelf in your local book store in the fall of this year.

If that wasn’t enough to make you swoon, Kaleb started in the media at an even earlier age. He was thirteen when he started his own radio show and then later went on to become one of the youngest nationally syndicated hosts on the air. What an accomplishment!

But wait – there’s more! He started his first website to provide web and print graphics for clients all over the U.S., but found an even bigger home when he launched the TwilightGuy.com blog. His chapter by chapter run down offers up that rarely seen and oh-so-valuable male perspective on the series. His wit, comedy, insight, and the fact that readers came back week by week to hopefully catch a glimpse of his gorgeous eyes peeking out from behind his book made him one of the most popular Twilight fans on the web!

From his YouTube videos to the time he spent on the red carpet, we just can’t get enough of Kaleb Nation! Move over Edward… Kaleb is the one to watch!

Twi-Guy Love YouTube Style

APRIL 1, 2009

Nothing says “I love you” quite like bursting into song in your very own YouTube video. Lyrics by Pel and Alphie, vocals by Alphie. Finally YouTube finished their site maintenance and we can post the slightly different You Tube version.

Vote On Our Name Change

APRIL 1, 2009

Now that we’ve seen the light and have gotten over that silly werewolf (who needs the fleas and the fur is hell on the carpets) and that morose vampire (seriously, have you tried kissing marble) we need to rename ourselves. So what do you think we should be called?

Ode to Our Twi-Guy

APRIL 1, 2009

With apologies to Lord Byron, our ode to our own Byronic Hero.

He blogs in obscurity, like the night

Of vampire books and cloudy skies;

And all that’s best of red, yellow, and white

Meet in his aspect and his eyes.

Share your Kaleb poetry here.

Twilight Fan Provides Movie Props

Krystyna, who runs: Justin Chon Fansite, The Twilight Files, and The Twilight Files Forum manged to help out the New Moon movie with some authentic area props. Krystyna writes:

“I work at this classified newspaper in Washington called the ‘Little Nickel’ and someone from Summit contacted our office to request some papers to use for the movie! 🙂

I posted about it on my site a couple weeks ago  and today I found out they requested more stuff like a couple of stickers and ads to put on the newspaper box to make it look more authentic. How cool is that!

I kept a bunch of the Peninsula/Kitsap editions which they will be using in the movie so that I have something that I know will be in the movie! lol.

I am the biggest Twilight fan in the office, there are a couple of ladies in my office who have read it but I walk around my office with all my Twilight gear on (hoodie & shirts) and I also have a Twilight bulletin board on my desk! lol”
