Also, are you looking for a midnight showing? It might take a little leg work, just like getting midnight release parties for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn did. Here’s some advice from Kim based on her experience.
"I am writing to you concerning possible midnight showings of Twilight in the US. Originally, I took it for granted that Twilight, like Harry Potter and superhero films, would get a midnight release. The management at my local AMC Theaters, however, has barely heard of the movie or book, and are unaware of fan support for the film. I was told that it would make a difference if the theater heard from these fans expressing interest in the film, and specifically asking about a midnight premiere. The situation may be the same for other theater chains that normally do these special engagement showings. I have not been told that they won’t have one, just that they don’t know at this time. Rather than let this be an uncertainty, I figured I would inform the fans at as many sites as I could to encourage them to call their local theaters, and to ask in person if possible. If we can organize in small groups and wear our Twilight shirts, it might make more of an impression on the theater staff. This weekend especially it might make a difference since the Twilight trailer is in the theater. If you go see Quarantine or Sex Drive maybe you can stop by guest services in Twilight gear letting them know you want to see the TRAILER on the big screen because you can’t wait for the movie to be released. "
Robert Pattinson called into the New Orleans Film Festival which was showing his movie How To Be. See the transcript here. We are waiting to find out if he also called into the Derby City Film Festival, and if anyone snagged a transcript of that.

And now, drum roll please. The Edward Doll. It’s currently available on the UK site Forbidden Planet for £9.99, that’s roughly $17 US dollars based on exchange rates.
We’ve all had our reaction to the trailer as fans who are outsiders to the process looking in. What’s the reaction of people who were involved directly in the creative process? How do they feel about what they last saw raw and uncut through a camera lens now that it has made it to the editing room and on the big screen?
Maggie who was a phd student they allowed to observe on the film set and has given her perspective before in events like the live NYC podcast and multiple blog entries chimes in with a new entry.
It seems like in the last two weeks a ton of twilight conventions have sprung up. Our mailbox has been getting bombarded with people who have questions on conventions or cons. Now the Lexicon is not endorsing any particular event, as fans we may be in attendance, but we are not an official sponsor of any of these.
We did think we could help people out with some info. So we thought we’d do a little con 101, and give you some more ideas regarding cons that are based on questions in our inbox.
Question: The con says its unofficial, and not affiliated with Summit, Hachette Books, or Stephenie. Is that bad?
Answer: In general no con is sponsored by a movie company, a book company, or an author. Basically, those companies/people do what they do best which is making movies and publishing books. So a con not being officially sponsored is not a bad thing persay. Good or bad is going to depend on a number of other factors.
Question: How can you tell if a con is going to be any good?
Answer: Well, with anything entertainment related that’s a really subjective question. Everyone has different tastes as to what they like and don’t like. Here are some quick things to look for that tend to mean a con is going to be good as far as most people are concerned:
Question: Why does it cost so much? How much should it cost?
Answer: That’s another loaded question! Con costs will vary on size, location, events planned. The better question to ask is "what am I getting for my money". For example, is it one fee that covers everything (socials, panels, dances, screenings, etc.) or is there fine print that nickels and dimes you for other things?
Hopefully this info helps. For our next feature, we’ll be doing brief bios of the organizers and descriptions of two conventions happening this summer in the USA.
