Kristen Stewart the Next “Jodie Foster”?

MSNBC is conducting a poll on the best upcoming actresses in Hollywood.  The Poll entitled "Who do you think could be the next Jodie Foster" includes Kristen Stewart in their poll.  Currently Kristen only has 4% of the vote and Dakota Fanning is in the high lead with 38% of the vote.  Lets get out there and show MSNBC and Kristen our support.  Note: You can only vote in the poll once, so make it count!

*NEW Edit: Kristen is in 2nd place!  You guys are amazing!  Keep encouraging your friends to vote and maybe we can edge out Dakota Fanning!

Also this morning Michael Welch’s upcoming projects are featured in a new emediawire write-up.  Check it out.

Chapter Update

I added Chapter Seven: Unhappy Ending to the Eclispe discussion area.  Talk about the chapter over on the message boards.  Lots of thanks to Be My Escape for her help on this one.

And Oprah is waiting to hear form you!!!  Don’t forget to send in those letters about why Stephenie should be on Oprah.

Robert with his doubles

Exclusively from Twilighters.org are pictures of Robert and his doubles.  They all look like they are having a great time on set!  Thanks to Twilighters for sending those to us.

*Edit: Twilighters.org is currently recieving a large amount of traffic due to their posting of these pictures.  They are a smaller site then we are, so please be patient, don’t keep hitting refresh 10 times hoping for it to come up.  It just causes their server to crash.  Try again in a few hours.  ~Cocoa

Mugglecast mentions Twilight

MuggleCast mentioned Twilight in their lastest podcast.  (Please note it was a part of an April Fools joke.)  But that being said Andrew Sims of the Mugglecast crew did visit the set of Twilight diring filming and reported for Dark Horizon.  We ran the article earlier this week.  The link to the set visit report which includes a brief interview with Robert Pattinson is located on our Actor Interviews page.

Canada Release Party

The Chapters and Indigo stores in Canada are planning midnight release parties for Breaking Dawn.  They are planning on having theme parties and would like participants in the party to vote.  Here is the poll asking what kind of party Canadian fans would like.

Billy Burke Interview

Billy Burke, who plays Charlie Swan in the Twilight movie, gave us a very candid interview. Thanks to Billy for taking the time to talk to us, and thank you to Cocoa for acting as our interviewer.

Some highlights include:

"I tend to gravitate towards characters that carry their damage in their hip pocket."

"I don’t think there’s anything he wouldn’t do to make Bella happy and to have her back in his life."

"If I were motivated only by a desire to please everyone, I’m sure the result would be pathetic and I’d probably end up guzzling bleach in my trailer."

Billy’s speaks candidly from the heart using language that is stronger than previous interviews, and language that is stronger than what appears in the Twilight books. The interview is a strong PG-13.

Official Statement From Summit

Statement From Summit Films regarding Stephenie’s cameo.

While expressing his excitement for Stephenie’s support of the film, a member of the film production staff inadvertently told an MTV reporter about Stephenie’s cameo appearance.  There was no malicious intent by either party to “steal Stephenie’s thunder”.  Of course Summit is sorry for the story being accidentally leaked to the press before Stephenie was able to do so.  But being that it was an accident Stephenie is ok with the events that transpired.

As means of an explanation, but not a an excuse, we’ve been getting a lot of "didn’t you know that…", and "how come you’re not reporting…" emails, posts, statements around the net. Oftentimes we are not reporting because we’ve been asked not to because official sources wanted to do it.  My frustration level reached a boiling point today when we did not report information we had, were anticipating linking to a Stepheniemeyer.com in Stephenie’s own words and the story turned out to be an MTV story. We have been in contact with MTV and both parties are fine with where we are.

MTV posts about Stephenie having a cameo

MTV what the Lexicon has known for weeks, was specifically asked NOT to mention, and was supposed to be a surprise for the fans when the movie came out. Stephenie filmed a cameo in the Twilight movie.

EDIT: The article does tell about the scene Stephenie appears in.  Be aware in case you don’t want to be spoiled

Don’t forget about the other big items today. Let Oprah hear your opinion.

Vote for Stephenie in the Time Magazine Newsmakers

EDITED: Ok, here’s the deal, in light of what MTV was told, which differs greatly from what I was told by official sources, that Stephenie wanted to break this news herself, I have edited this post to say to remove the word "leaked". However, let’s just say there’s been a lot of communication back and forth behind the scenes here and I am not the only one who was majorly surprised, caught 100% off-guard this morning, when I contacted my sources to say "what gives?"

Let’s Mobilize For Oprah

Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock, you know that one of the biggest influences on what people read is Oprah Winfrey. Oprah is an AVID reader and she is currently deep into A New Earth which focuses on personal growth and change. In fact Oprah does more than just preach change. She goes out and makes it happen from The Big Give, to her girls success academy in South Africa, to her regular generosity on her daily show.  Any info on a book that has changed a teenager’s life – or an adult’s life – should be interesting to her.

If we can show her that the Twilight Saga has changed THOUSANDS of lives, and in particular girls lives that’s something she should know about!  I mean let’s face it the Twilight Saga was written by a woman, the protagonist is an ordinary girl, the fans are mostly female teens and women, and the fansites are largely run by women. Let’s let Oprah hear about a book that has affected our lives for the positive.

So even though there is a movie coming out, we want this to be focused on the BOOKS.  Sure, we can pitch the movie as a bonus, but let’s make this about the books.  After all, none of us would be here if there hadn’t been a book FIRST. So here’s the plan, in order for this to work it needs to be a coordinated effort. Contact Oprah here on her show suggestions:

You have 2000 characters INCLUDING spaces to express your thoughts. Talk from the heart, say whatever you want, but make sure you mention Stephenie’s Website, the Lexicon and how much Lexiconers want to see Stephenie on Oprah.  We also personally recommend doing it in Word first then cutting and pasting it in the submission box this way you have a copy of what you are sending.

They must require that you submit your real name and address, so please, if you are under 18 years of age, make sure you talk to your parents first just as a precaution.
