As we reported a month ago, Kristen Stewart is nominated for a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Awards) Rising Star Award. She is nominated alongside her Adventureland co-star Jesse Eisenberg, Nicholas Hoult, Carey Mulligan, and Tahar Rahim. Since their inception roughly five years ago, the winner has almost always been male and of British descent. The notable exception is Shia LaBeouf who won two years ago. Last year’s winner was Noel Clarke, most well known for his role as Mickey in the Dr. Who series. Kristen’s toughest competition probably comes from Nicholas Hoult who launched his career in About a Boy with Hugh Grant and currently was on the popular series Skins. BAFTA rising star is a voted category by the British general public so it can be hard to predict what’s going to happen. Given there are several British nominess and the popularity of Twilight, perhaps the vote will be split and Kristen will pull through.
According to the BAFTA Twitter, Robert Pattinson is slated to be a presenter at the awards show, although what he is presenting is unclear.
You can watch the BAFTA’s in the USA assuming you get the BBC America channel this Sunday, February 21st at 8:00pm est and 7:30 Pacific. From information on the BAFTA site, The event itself takes place “Sunday 21st February 2010at the The Linbury Theatre, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London.” Start time is 5:30 gmt (meaning it start at 12:30 est. so if you want to stay spoiler free until it airs on BBC America, stay off the Internet on Sunday afternoon or you will probably get spoiled.
There is also a Twitter picture showing where Kristen will be sitting.![]()
There’s a 30 minute feature on what to expect at the awards here.

“Nicholas Hoult who launched his career in About a Boy with Hugh Grant and currently is on the popular ITV series Skins.”
**E4 series
It wasn’t on ITV at any point, used to be on Channel4 then went on to E4 after the first episode
He isn’t in the current series either, he was in the first two series. The show is now in season 4.
Fixing that, thanks!
Spoiler free?… You mean, in case they show something from Eclipse?
No, spoiler free in case you want to be surprised by who won the Rising Star Award.
Ohh ok. That makes more sense. Thanks!!
I don’t think they mean that, I don’t think the BAFTAs are a place to promote anything. They probably just meant that if you want to wait for the results until it airs on BBC America, you should stay away from the internet.
Great! For once I don’t have to stay up all night to watch the cast’s appearance. I wonder if this will be livestreamed somewhere… I don’t think Kristen will win, my bet would be on either Carey Mulligan (hopefully) or Nicholas Hoult.
I’ve been looking for livestream data and can’t find it. If you see anything let us know.
Ok, sure!
Um would just like to point out that Nicholas Hoult *was* on skins 2 years ago and its on channel 4 NOT itv.
I hope that Kristen win =)
And I hopte that kristen and Robert sit together , please =)
