This weekend 100 Monkeys has added a special CD signing gig at a Barnes and Noble in Allentown PA. According to the area paper Leighigh Valley:
“[The band]… will have a CD signing Sunday at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, then perform 8 p.m. at Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown.
The CD signing is set for 2 to 4 p.m. at Barnes & Noble. The store will open at 9 a.m. and hand out a limited amount of wristbands, a news release says. Fans must purchase a 100 Monkeys CD to receive a wristband.
Tickets for the all-ages show at Crocodile Rock, 520 Hamilton St., are $10.”
Now tonight when we spoke with the representative from 100 Monkeys we learned that there are less than 100 tickets left. All of their recent shows in Philly and NYC have sold out. You don’t want to get caught short, so order ahead of time!
The Lexicon is going to be covering the show and interviewing the band. So, if you have a 100 Monkeys question for Jared, Jackson, Ben or Ben make sure you comment below! (Please focus the questions on the band and not the upcoming movie unless it is a soundtrack related question.)
We also hear that the band is going to debut FOUR new songs at the Allentown show. AND two lucky fans are going to be selected from the audience and they’ll get to meet the band backstage.
I wonder… do people follow this band just because of Jackson? Wpu;d the band be as popular if he wasn’t a part of it?

I will admit, I checked out the band because of Jackson but they are so damn good I couldn’t help but become a fan.
Which is why I’m miffed that their album is only on iTunes(as far as I know). I don’t have iTunes..I’m slightly economically challenged, lol.

That song sounded horrible! I was curious about them just because of Jackson, but I truly believe now that their popularity is completely because of him. Maybe the song would have sounded better with Jackson singing?
I bought their cd, and am totally loving it. Although, not so much the air-time on the one song.
I was hoping to make it up to the concert, but cant get anybody to carpool with me for the 1 1/2 hour commute.
She’s sooo much taller then him! It’s funny. Seems like a real cool guy–(cashing in on Twilights fame). Sorry his music isn’t really my style but if he’s happy…it’s cool!

Hello Monkey Junkies! Got a couple of Qs for the band in general:
1. Your songs sound very “Rocky Horror Picture Show” any correlation or inspiration taken from that musical?
2. Have any of you read the Beat classic, “On the Road” by Jack Kerouac? He was known for Spontaneous Prose (aka writing to stream of consciousness) which sounds like the bands technique. If so, would you say that you guys are the ‘new beatniks’ of this century?
I have several questions about the Slow Down video, but basically it boils down to decisions on how it was made/directed (i.e. why the costume changes, Jerad was not playing and instead a mini Jerad was in the video creating havoc where he could, all the action occurring at the bottom of the screen). Glad Marty was in the video.:)
And a question for Marty, do you have a favorite candy?
