Stephenie on CNN INternational and upcoming contests

Stephenie was interviewed on Cnn International. This is a better interview than some that have recently been out. No really new information, but it sounds like the interviewers had actually read the books, or at least were interested in what Stephenie had to say. On a personal note, finally…FINALLY…someone asked, "Do you have many adult fans?"

There is a character slogan contest being sponsored by Stephenie’s website. Entries are being taken starting Monday.

There is a also a contest (Thanks to the Italian Twilighters website for the heads up!) being sponsored by the Italian publishers of Twilight.

Both contests are open to people from around the world.

The Europe Report

Epona attended the informal signing in Dublin today.

What can I say!!!! Absolutely amazing!!! We all got autographs and pictures with SM. There was a large enough crowd but still everyone got to chat with her and her publisist Elizabeth (lovely lady). There were some great ideas – two girls infront of me designed a cd but also these amazing looking bookmarks – which SM seemed to love. Fairness to SM she did amazing job at keeping upbeat and lovely to everyone considering the amount of time she was there and signing. She’ll be away tomorrow now back to the States to be with her family.

I can’t believe i talked to her, I’d say she thought I was a motor mouth but I couldn’t stop babbling and then of course I dropped Eclipse on her foot!! She was kind enough to hold it for me for the photo though ( I think she might have thought I was a bit mad)  and she said that she liked my muse tshirt.

Seriously everything was great – and everyone got their signing done. There was no Q&A or anything but there was a real ‘personal’ feel and we all got our photo oportunities and to chat to her for little while one on one.  I felt sorry for SM though, she was looking tired near the end – not that I could blame her with the amount of books each person brought (myself included). She was amazing!! and very kind and patient!

Downtime

Hi everyone!

I’m back from vacation and I had a blast!  But while I was away, some things went kaput around here and I thought I’d offer an explaination to help you better understand what’s going on.

First of all, the Hollywood Hideout is currently on hiatus until we decide what to do with it.  We’ve always had problems with that forum and now that there are casting rumors and what not going around the net the whole place just kid of exploded.  Here’s the main thing, folks, and I’m going to say this once and for all…

We have NOTHING to do with the casting of this movie!!  Do not send me your picks for actors.  Do not send me your resume.  Do not ask me where you can get an agent so you can get an audition.  I will not respond to any more casting e-mails, I don’t care if you are the most talented person on the planet.

All clear?  Good.  Now then, on to issue number two.

We had some real downtime over the last few days due in part to the fact that the lexicon officially reached it’s limit today.  Seriously.  I’m not kidding.  We had to go through our data and delete some old things that have nothing to do with Twilight in order to make room for all the information we have posted here.  Hoping to free up some more space, my husband will be converting some files over the next few weeks to "shrink" them down.  No information will be changing, so don’t worry that anything will be lost.  However, certain things may seem to vanish, but give it a day and everything will come back.  If it doesn’t, not to worry.  I have everthing saved on a CD and can reupload it.  I just wanted to give everyone a heads up before we start in on the conversion.

Drumroll Please…

The Twilight Saga (meaning three books) has just knocked Harry Potter (meaning seven books) off the number one perch on the New York Times Bestseller list. No book other than Twilight has managed to do this so quickly.

Again, we mean no disrespect to JK Rowling and her series (Frankly we think you can enjoy both series,it’s not an either/or type of deal.), but this is quite an accomplishment.

Ireland signing details

As promised here is the information.

To reserve a signed copy, or if you have any questions, please contact:

or call 01 677 5568

Ireland is back on.

You put your signing in, you put your signing out…with apologies to whomever invented the Hokey Pokey I couldn’t resist. Anyway, the Ireland signing is back on. Strings were pulled, arms were twisted and at the request of Stephenie’s publicist the message is, "Can you please let people know that Stephenie will be doing an informal book signing on Friday, October 12th in the early afternoon in Dublin .  I will have store details tomorrow."

Ireland Signing Cancelled, England still on

I just heard from Stephenie’s publicist and the originally planned Ireland signing fell through. I wanted to get the word out ASAP in case their was anyone who would then choose to travel to the UK.

Also, in regards to movie scripts, casting calls, etc. We have nothing to suggest that at this time there will be an open "cattle call" (meaning everyone and his/her best friend with no experience, union affiliation, or agent) for the Twilight movie.  If we have anything that will suggest such an opportunity, we will shout it from the roof tops. As of right now, however, we have nothing credible and official.

In regards to script side that may be floating out there, I have this quote from an inside source, "And in terms of the movie script, it isn’t done yet so people are buying something fake (or the old script that isn’t being used)."

Twilight and New Moon Up For Awards, GO VOTE!!!!

This just in on Teen Reads Week (thanks to Cullengirl for the heads up!)

Voting opens during Teen Read Week, October 14-20, 2007. We want to know which titles you think deserve the title of Teens Top 10. Twenty-five titles have been nominated by teens just like you as the best reads of 2006-2007. Read as many of the titles as you can before October 14, 2007. Teens should visit here to place their vote anytime during Teen Read Week. We look forward to seeing which books YOU think are the best of the best.

In the 2005-2006 Teen Read Week, Twilight finished second to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.  Let’s make New Moon number 1 for 2006-2007!

Also just in from Cullengirl, Twilight is up for an award in Illinois:

"I wanted to give you a heads up that Twilight is up for an award in IL. The book has been nominated for the Abraham Lincoln Award in IL. Abraham Lincoln Award is an annual award that is given to a book which has been voted outstanding by high school students in IL. Students just have to fill out a simple form in their school libraries who participate the Abraham Lincoln Award program."

Just a heads up

I am going to out of town for the next week or so with my family.  We are going on our first REAL family vacation that lasts longer than two days.  LOL!  Thus, if you have any problems with the site or need to talk with someone in charge, seek out the help of one of our many mods.  If you PM me, I will not respond until after Oct. 8th.  And if you happen to pass someone while in line for the Tower of Terror at MGM studios at Walt Disney World and think, "Hey, that looks like Alphie from the Lexicon!" it just might be me!
