The movie companion book continues to sell like hotcakes if the Amazon list is any indication. It will not be eligible to be ranked on the NY Times list for two weeks due to their cut-off.

EW had an advance listen to the Twilight soundtrack. They give their opinion song by song of what listeners can expect.

Screenwriter, Melissa Rosenberg, had a seminar at the University of Texas. She discussed Twilight and other projects like Dexter.  Here is one attendee’s account.

The cast has signed a poster to raise money for a great cause, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Earlier this month we reported on a lunch with Taylor Lautner being auctioned off for the same cause.

According to the St. Jude’s site "St. Jude is a place where many doctors send some of their sickest patients and toughest cases. A place where cutting-edge research and revolutionary discoveries happen every day. We’ve built America’s second-largest health-care charity so the science never stops."

Australian fans have a chance for an advance screening of Twilight. Details are still being finalized, but here is the info according to organizers:

What: An Advance Twilight Screening and Prom

When: December 7th, starting at approx 3pm

Where: George St Greater Union Cinemas and a prom venue to be decided in the next week

How much: approx $40 (still to be completely finalised)

How to come: email [email protected] to reserve seats, which will be sold when available through selected Angus and Roberston stores

La Gazetta di Forks, the official site of the distributors of the movie in Italy, has new stills up.

As we reported a couple of days ago, Rob will be in attendance at the Austin Film Festival to support his movie How To Be tonight. People who signed up for email alerts regarding the festival were just sent this notice: " Robert will be attending the Austin film festival at 7:15 pm on Saturday 18 October 2008 "

The Movie Fanatic has a story on potential appearances of Twilight cast members on shows like SNL, Ellen, etc.

Fan, The Madchatter, over on Twilight Moms has even organized an letter writing campaign to Lorne Michaels, legendary producer of SNL, in the hopes of making this happen.

According to the Twilight Moms post, (which we like because it involves directly e-mailing something that is highly effective, not a e-petition which show organizers routinely dump because it is so easy to electronically fake signatures) :

1. Send an email on November 1st to any of the following:

If you would like to send emails before the first by all means go ahead but I think if we can get the numbers to exceed a few thousand emails then we’ll get their attention. To get those numbers in just one day, they’d be crazy not to listen!

2. Use "Twilight on SNL"  or "Robert Pattinson on SNL" as the subject. I think the only chance we have is if they see the sheer numbers of emails coming in with the same subject line and then open a few out of curiosity. If you’d like to expound on the many virtues of Twilight and Robert Pattinson by all means go ahead!

3. If you would also like to cc your local NBC affiliate that would be awesome as well. This is as grassroots as you can get.

4. Spread the word to everyone you’ve every met in your life! Especially those with Facebook, MySpace and YouTube accounts. Create new threads wherever you can and most importantly….HAVE FUN WITH THIS!

The Twilight Symposium that is going to be held in Forks this summer, June 25-28, 2009,has some new information about speakers and merchandise.  According to organizers:

Kaleb Nation–everyone’s favorite Twilight guy–will be delivering a Keynote Address at a special luncheon during Summer School in Forks.  Convention attendees will be able to purchase tickets for this barbecue luncheon during registration.  Seating is limited. 
 
SSIF is also proud to announce that The Bloodsuckers, aka The Girls Necks Door, will be presenting a live podcast from Forks High School during the convention.  Attendance and participation is included in convention registration.
