And The Winners Are…

We have picked the two questions that our site gets to ask in the Nokia sponsored ask Stephenie event. With over 400 questions submitted on the blog and in the forums you guys gave us a ton to think about. Narrowing down to two questions was really really tough. In the end we decided to go for two questions that we thought other sites wouldn’t ask, and left room for more than an brief answer. Some of the best answers that Stephenie has given over the years are on questions like these because they gave her room to expand. So the Lexicon winning questions are:

Submitted by Erynne

Stephenie, while writing the entire series, did you ever consider a path for the story that you later erased, like did you ever have it go differently in either several scenes/chapters, or for almost an entire novel, before realizing this wasn’t what you wanted and changing it, or was the entire thing laid out in your mind when you started working on it?

Submitted by Amber

What did Bella want to do with her life before she met Edward? It’s hard for me to imagine Bella as a teacher or a lawyer, etc. What did she see herself as in the future, or didn’t she?

These questions and others will eventually be answered on the Twilight Nokia Site (the company that supplied all the cell phones featured in the movie), which is really cool! Check it out if you haven’t been to it yet. it’s well worth the wait time on the download.

Want to Appear in a Twilight Video?

No we can’t get you a spot in New Moon ( and for those of you who have been emailing and asking we don’t control the casting, nor does Stephenie, and we have no concrete, confirmed audition info), but you could be in a YouTube Twilight spoof. Here’s the details courtesy of Lisette.

The Hillywood Show is a show on YouTube by thes girls named Hillary and Hannah who act out excellent Johnny Depp impressions of all the characters he’s ever done. Including Edward Scissorhands, Jack Sparrow, Ed Wood, Willy Wonka, etc.

What does this have to do with Twilight? Well in most of their episodes, one of the Johnny Depp characters usually crosses paths with another movie such as Terminator, Back to The Future, Beetlejuice, Star Wars, and most recently, the Dark Knight. But The Hillywood Show has just announced that they are going to do one in January 2009 crossing paths with our very own Twilight universe!

They are doing a casting call for any extras.

Here are the links to their sites.

Twilight Guys in Focus

The Normal Mormon Husbands are back. You remember them, the guys who despaired that their wives were obsessed with Edward and they took a tongue-in-cheek look at the whole saga mania. So now they are back with their movie reaction.

Kaleb Nation, the Twilight Guy, is up to chapter 10 of Eclipse.

Theater and DVD Report

Let’s make sure that Twilight has a great weekend. Get those people who haven’t yet seen Twilight to a theater and then hook them on the books!  Here is the latest from Box Office Mojo.  Let’s get it to that 150 million this weekend.

Also, for those of you who are dying to have the DVD, this is just in from Naomi who stumbled on Twilight info at her local video store.

I was at my local mall today, scouting out new Twilight merchandise, when I decided to check out FYE. I went straight to the posters that were displayed and there, taped to the display, was a sign that read "PREORDER TWILIGHT TODAY! COMING IN 2009." I literally ran up to the counter and asked the lady to fill me in. She told me that I could pre-order it by putting $5 down on the dvd, and when it came in, they’d call. I asked when it was coming in and she replied around Valentine’s Day (February 14th). Also (and I don’t know if this is just at my local FYE or at others too), the woman told me that she was having a contest to win a special Twilight prize. To win, all you have to do is pre-order the DVD.

Oh, and they have 2 different versions of the DVD coming out: a regular (estimated at $19.99) and a special edition (estimated at $22.99).

In the News

The LA Times covers vacations that are Twilight themed (book and movie)in the Pacific Northwest.

Film.com explores the multiple people playing Dali this year, including Rob. Plus IF Magazine covers the Little Ashes trailer.

Entertainment Weekly provides a double dose of Twilight Saga tidbits. First they talk about the box office, and secondly they speculate on the Volturi in New Moon casting. Some of their picks are a little…well…odd, but at least they read the next book.

Can Mag has an interview with Peter Facinelli.

Two Questions For Stephenie

Nokia, the company that supplied the phones used by the characters in the Twilight movie, is sponsoring an ask Stephenie event. Now rather than the admins picking the two questions that each participating site gets to submit, we are opening it up to you all.

Now unfortunately they didn’t give us tons of notice here! We have to pick our questions by midnight tonight Eastern Time. Try to come up with something unique that hasn’t been asked and answered in recent interviews. So get those brain cells working and comment below on what you want Stephenie to answer, and we’ll pick the two questions that we think are the best.

As an extra perk, we’ll also give the people (if several people phrase a question similarly we’ll throw the names in a hat and pick out one) who come up with the selected questions a free item of their choice from our CafePress Store.
