Shock Till You Drop News’ Story

Shock Till You Drop News has a report about future Twilight movies.

We just want to state again, the as of right now, Stephenie HAS NOT given over the rights to any movie but Twilight. Despite any quotes to the contrary, any "scripts" are going nowhere fast, unless the rights are granted.

Edited:  They also have some great set pictures here.

Solomon Trimble In His Own Words

We are very fortunate to have Solomon Trimble, Sam Uley, grant us his first major interview.  There is no doubt about it, he IS Sam!  Without question that he has a bright future ahead of him.

Thank you to Cocoa for acting as our reporter, and a HUGE thank you to Solomon for giving us the privilege of conveying his words and feeling to the Twilight fans.  You can discuss Solomon’s fantastic answers over at the message boards.

Some select quotes are here:

"Family always came first; I just want to give back to them for being so supportive of me…."

"I’ve always been interested in acting; my background is in stage acting and dance…."

"I don’t think Sam carried the burden of a secret; the fact that he said anything makes it clear that he’s more interested in protecting his people…"

Kansas preps for Stephenie

There is an article talking about Stephenie coming to Kansas as part of her The Host Tour.

We also need a Lexicon reporter for this event. If you are going, email us. [email protected]

Today’s Extra Extra Report!

K from Kalama is back with today’s behind the scenes look at what it’s like being an extra.  (Edited:  Based on my emails, there seems to be some confusion that I think is based on our extra reporter’s screen name(she attends Kalama HS when not being an extra), let me explain. We know they are no longer shooting in Kalama H.S. but rather at a different High School where they are doing indoor work on a closed set. They will then be shooting some other scenes at other locations. I hope that clears things up.)

So here are my notes from today…:

  • Arrive @ 5:00-ish, again
  • More hallway takes… before 8:30
  • Saw Rob’s backside on the monitor…clothed…but still
  • Kristen came out of Bio saying(to Mike, and not verbatim, but close enough), “I wish coffee would actually wake you up, but it just gives you energy while you’re tired like… *shakes, like having a seizure*”
  • More walking through the hallway
  • Saw Rob up close, A LOT! BIG BLACK EYES!
  • Saw Mike, he laughed(a VERY cute laugh) at something that somebody said to him, then the film had to be replaced ‘cause they ran out, and so he sat on the ground all by his lonesome… L He played w/ his “Crystal Geyser” water bottle… but a crew member came over after a while and spoke to him…
  • Got stuck in a special ed. Room with about 15+ extras for 4(?) hours… so we watched Scrubs and played monopoly.
  • Justin Chon’s double did the moonwalk, very well I might add, to his seat in the waiting area.
  • Hallway scene after Bio class, when the bell rings.
  • Saw Rob and Kristen joking with each other between takes
  • Rob has funny, and BIG, laugh… BIG smile!
  • A friend scared Mike by saying, “Hey! What are you doing in my locker?!” (‘cause we were using it previously), and he took a step or two back with a stunned look on his face. Then he realized that she was joking and did his cute little smile!!!… it was SO hilarious!

Happy Birthday to Us

Back in March 2006 Alphie had this idea for a website. Over the course of the month of March different features were added, and finally on March 28, 2006 the structure that you see today with the blog and forum was finally working.

So we are starting our annual birthday celebration. We were stunned last year when we had 5,000 members. Believe us we are more stunned at 16,000 registered visitors and the 30,000+ who visit this site everyday.  We hope you all are having fun because we are.

Come on over to the birthday archive and help us celebrate!

Twilight Band Gig This Weekend

The Bella Cullen Project is a band that Stephenie featured on her MySpace awhile back. They have a gig this weekend and will also be playing at a Breaking Dawn release party.

The Bella Cullen Project

This rockin’ new band derives all of their inspiration from the ever-popular Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.  Join us for an afternoon of music, books and (of course) vampires!  To check out the band ahead of time, visit their MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/thebellacullenproject for all their latest info and tunes.

Publishers Weekly Reports Eclipse Success

Publisher’s Weekly is reporting that Eclipse, known in Germany as "Bella and Edward: A Bite For Supper" debuted at number one in Germany.

EDITED:  Well it seems that Publisher’s Weekly has a bit of a translation problem. Here’s an update from Katie as to what the book titles actually mean!

While browsing the Lexicon, I came across an update in which you stated that "Eclipse" is known in Germany as "Bella and Edward: A Bite for Supper". That isn’t the title of the book. I’m a german student currently reading the entire Twilight series in German in preparation for a foreign exchange trip, and I can honestly tell you that you mistranslated the title. The German title for the book is "Bis(s) zum Abendrot", which translates as "Until Sunset (Bis zum Abendrot)," or "Bite (Biss)". I think you probably misinterpreted the title as "Biss zur Abendbrot," which would indeed be "A bite of supper".

Sorry if I seem a little bit anal about translations…Just thought I’d share. ^^’

Dankeschoen,
Katie

P.S. Just because we’re on the subject, the title of Twilight in German is "Bis(s) zum Morgengrauen" (Until Dawn), and the title of New Moon in German is "Bis(s) zur Mittagstunde" (Until Midday, or Until Noon).

They also mention the novel in this recap article as well.

The Twilight Saga continues its position in the top three (this week at one) on the New York times Best Seller List. The Twilight Saga(now in the series category–three books and you move to the series category.) has not left that list since Eclipse debuted in August 2007.  New Moon(then in the chapter book category) was published in August 2006 and remained on that list from the time of its debut until Eclipse was published and the category changed. Breaking Dawn continues to be in the top 20 in the  Barnes and Nobel and Amazon lists (in the 10 and 11 positions respectively at the time of this report). It will certainly make its debut on the New York Times Bestseller list when it releases, the only question at hand is in what position.

The Peninsular Daily News has an article about the Twilight Movie filming on the beaches there.

Fans Supporting The Twilight Film

Between the 1000’s of questions hitting  our inbox for Rob, the number of cast interviews around the net, the excited buzz for pictures, the number of people flying to the Pacific Northwest in March just for the hopes at a glimpse at the cast, etc.  I think it’s obvious by now that there is massive, world-wide support for the Twilight movie and its cast.

Some fans recently decided to go for a visual show of support. Over 100 fans from around the globe participated in this YouTube video.

Thanks to NoMoreMarbles for sharing and being a part of the project.

Extra, Extra…read all about being an extra!

K from Kalama is lucky enough to be an extra in the scenes being shot this week.  Here’s what it’s like being an extra from her own viewpoint. You can definitely tell that it’s not all bright lights and glory, but boy there are some unique moments too.

Okay, here is the day’s, interesting, happenings…(yessum, I took notes! ^^)

  • Arrived on set @ 5am
  • About 8:30 the 30+ extras were told their directions
  • While waiting for our directions, some of my new friends and I were Robert watching… saw him, YAY!
  • We extras did our seven+ takes of a hallway scene… I didn’t get chosen to be in the classroom w/ rob
  • Saw Mike… SO ADORABLE IN PERSON!
  • More hallway takes
  • Went into an auditorium to wait for more directions…
  • Then we did more takes…
  • Went back into aud.
  • More takes…
  • Then the aud. Again! GUH!
  • About 15 of us extras were sent to a room to do sound work with Mr. Banner the Bio teacher… that never happened… we were in there for almost on hour w/ absolutely nothing to do but wait…
  • Then they remembered us in the room and sent us back to aud. And on the way there we saw Rob getting up w/ his hand down the front-neck part of his shirt, I can only assume that he was removing microphones of sorts.
  • Then we all went to lunch and I was right in across from Robert at the buffet line, and someone near me said something funny, and I laughed… he looked up at me funny-like, his contacts in, and then my new friends and I watched him for a couple more seconds and went to eat lunch. ^^
  • Kristen, Katie(Kristen’s double), and Rob had a very good lunch together… they were laughing and what-not.
  • After we got to our table… we saw Mike, and he was talking to someone and not watching where he was going… so he ran into a wall… we started laughing, naturally, and he looked at us w/ the most adorable smile and said in a very “stern” (LOL!) voice, “Hey! You didn’t see anything! ANYTHING!” while shaking his finger at us… it was sooooo cute!
  • After lunch the same people from before were sent into the room where we were to meet w/ the bio teacher, we were there for two hours then he came in, but no sound department, so he just chilled with us for about 20 minutes… and “Tyler” joined us…
  • (some extras brought skateboards) So there were like three guys skateboarding in the auditorium, and ‘ Tyler ’ was doing it too, well he didn’t turn in time and he ran into this weird fabric-pole-lighting fixture, it was SO hilarious!

That is the interesting and not so interesting day… the extras(except for those who were in the bio classroom) were only used for about 1.5 hours out of 11.5 hours today! But, I wouldn’t give up this chance for anything!
