Upcoming gigs for the Mitch Hansen Band

The Mitch Hansen Band, based in the Atlanta area,  has a bunch of upcoming performances.  The band has some great music inspired by Stephenie’s novels.

You can check out the band’s MySpace here. It gives a full listing of the band’s upcoming appearances including a recent addition at 37 Main in Buford, GA (which is a FREE SHOW!)

Maybe even a few enterprising fans could suggest the band as a midnight release act to area booksellers.

Don’t forget to chime in with your opinion

Seventeen Magazine is doing a set visit and wants your questions for Rob and Kristen.

Don’t forget to vote for Stephenie in the Time influential news makers.

And last but not least, vote for Kristen as an actress destined to be the "next Jodi Foster"

Direct from TMF site, "I want to thank you and the whole Lexicon team for the post concerning the top 50 hottest young actors. Being the leading Twilight news and resource site, more people were given the chance to read our post, thus making it one of the most commented and popular articles at tMF."

So let’s get the Lexicon vote out the on those above polls! Make yourselves heard!

Interview With Lana Veenker

Have you ever wondered just how a movie cast? What is the process? What types of decisions are made and why?  Well, wonder no more! Lana Veenker, one of the principal casting directors for the Twilight movie, explains a lot of what goes into the casting a film, and in particular, Twilight.

Highlights include:

"But actors reading for small day player parts also need to understand that it isn’t a movie about Waiter #3. If the character’s only line is "Would you like some more coffee?", the
actor should just say the line, simply and believably."

"Besides possessing the right look, charisma and acting chops, the actor needed to be someone who could grow into the character that Jacob becomes in the sequels."

"But we also saw some adorable little girl actresses for the role of Young Bella (seen in the ballet studio scenes) and some pretty mean Frat Boys (who threaten Bella in Port Angeles)."

We want to thank Lana for taking the time to explain things to us. We’d also like to thank Cocoa for acting as our interviewer.

Stephenie’s Offical Website is updated, and filming update

StephenieMeyer.com updated their movie section today, revealing the names of some of the minor characters like Phil, Mr. Molina (biology teacher), and various Forks townspeople.

In addition, in anticipation of the Host release, the site has a new look featuring photography by Stephenie’s husband, Pancho.

*Also, there has been some speculation on the Internet that the beach scene would be cut from the Twilight movie because the production company canceled it’s reservations in the Forks area. Have no fear, according to our contact at Summit, the scene has not been cut, just due to time and logistics a few things had to be rearranged.

The Movie fanatic site Talks HP and Twilight

Today The Movie Fanatic Site, the folks who had Robert Pattinson listed as one of the hottest young actors and named the Lexicon in their top three Twilight sites earlier in the week, have a post today talking about the similarities in the passionate  fanbases of Twilight and Harry  Potter. They also hint at more to come on April 14th.

Fan visit

We’ve posted things like this from time to time. It’s really great to see over the last two and a half years how people taking Twilight trips has grown from people just stopping in at First Beach and buying a Coke at the Safeway to a really extensive experience.

Here’s one such blogger’s recent trip.

Thanks to Sarah for the heads up and special thanks to ScullingOnSquam  for letting us link to her personal blog.

Canadians Check out Indigo-Chapters

Yesterday we had a ton of emails from non USA fans asking about midnight release parties in their respective countries. We will get an answer for you on that regarding the countries that Borders services.

I knew yesterday in the back of my mind that Indigo-Chapters had posted something awhile back and thanks to one of our posters (Who I totally can’t find right now so tell me who you are and I’ll credit you!) found this link. So Canadians, you are in luck!

Also, if you want to give a bookstore ideas on what they can do beyond trivia and costume contests, visit the Release Party Plaza forum for ideas.

MTV wants your photos—–NOW!

Here’s a message from Larry of MTV blog fame, and his assistant who is collecting the items for him. Please check that your parents have no problem with you submitting photos if you are under 18.

Hello my fellow Twilight fans!

I’m hoping you guys can help me out.

I’m currently editing together a package that will run on-air very soon, and I need something visual that will show the passion of all the devoted fans.

Here’s what I’m thinking: A collage of photos of normal fans, posing with the stars on the set, met them at their hotel, whatever. Each photo needs a star, and one or two fans.

I know several of you have taken these photos, and I’m hoping you have friends who’ve done the same. Could you please send me as many as you can get your hands on?

Feel free to put the word out,………..

I would need these photos today/tonight, so please send them ASAP. Then you can tell everybody to tune in, and maybe see yourself on MTV!

Thanks ……

Larry

Email pics to me and I will forward to him.

Borders Announces Midnight Release Parties

The Twilight Lexicon is thrilled to announce today that Borders has been paying attention to the fans’ requests and has stepped up to the plate to grant us all our wish of having midnight release parties for Breaking Dawn!  At this time, we do not have a detailed list of which Borders stores will be participating, but from what we understand, there will be a midnight release party for Breaking Dawn at most Borders, Borders Express, and Waldenbooks around the country.    This doesn’t guarantee that every store will host a party, just that most of them will.  Anyway you slice it, Borders gets our vote of thanks for being the first major bookstore to give Twilight fans this promise!

If you remember back to this time last year, Borders Media.com hosted a book club feature with Stephenie Meyer about Eclipse.  It was a wonderful segment and if you haven’t yet seen it, you can check it out here at BordersMedia.com.

We also know that Borders has many more things like this in store for Twilight fans and supporters of the Twilight Lexicon.  We thank them for their work and for being there for the fans along the way.  We can’t wait to see what’s next from Borders!
